I have chosen to work with Program Scenario Three, PEACE Domestic Violence Agency. The plan has added another targeted population and other agencies that will be used for particular services. The plan will outline how the relationship between this agency and other services providers would function, and the evaluation would outline whether or not the agencies meet the guidelines set forth by this agency and governmental guidelines. The objective that will provide young people who are or have been involved with the criminal justice system with a rehabilitation program targets another population. The plan must define the targeted age group or groups; the plan must define the sources targeted to work as a part of the rehabilitation program. The evaluation will determine through research, exploratory study and descriptive research, the most effective agencies and strategies to use for the success of this type of program. The grant programs for the funding of the agency needs a plan that will outline securing other funding that will meet the day-to-day operations of the program. Staffing, materials needed, and other fundamentals to run a program must be taken into consideration. The budgeted amount to run the agency can be determined by the evaluation of all that is a part of the objective and this will determine if the criteria has been met for the grants applied for. The Investor Program has a maximum number of organizations it will fund and is based upon the objectives
The assessment is used to decide whether a program accomplishes the goals of the program and ensures stakeholders stay on task producing constantly improving results by inspecting all areas of the program, including determining needs, analyzing program costs, examining employee roles and their responsibilities, conducting an economic and efficiency audit, and deciding the next steps the program should undertake.
By the lack of rehabilitation programs in the state and federal prison systems, the chances of convicts releasing and returning back to prison increases rapidly. When an organization starts to make decision about the programs it will offer they have to start thinking about the processes and outcomes they want to use and achieve through their program. They need to find the best ways to run their program that follows their mission and produces outcomes that help support that same mission. Correctional treatment programs have long been thought not to be effective in lowering the recidivism among criminals; Martinson (1979). Researchers have done countless studies and surveys only to find out that many of these studies and programs work and nearly the same number of programs do not work, depending on what component was or was not a part of the studies. Knowing that all programs does not work for all criminals is a no brainer, however, finding a good mixture of what does work and for what percentage of criminals is a beginning to duplicate that program with a few minor adjustments in the programs.
As mentioned within the paper, there are benefits to having services provided by both public and private entities; however, there are also concerns. The public sector, which was portrayed by services offered by TJJD, are required to provide yearly reports. In many ways these reports keep the system accountable for the money they are spending and the services they provide or require for juvenile offenders. The reports are open to the public and are easily accessible. As it relates to research, these reports allow people to critically assess juvenile programs, while challenging the government to refine or create programs superior to the ones offered in the past. Reports like these are harder to find regarding services offered by private entities and is a concern. Programs in which juvenile offenders are required to successfully complete, should never be determined by trial and error; however, this is often the case. On a positive note, private entities and community resources typically target the specific needs of a juvenile and include mental health components. Programs which do not offer mental health services should be critically assessed, as they are less likely to succeed. Currently to deal with juvenile offenders involved in the youth crime, there are two options available. The first option that prevails to a larger extent is known to us as incarceration while the second option that is slowly gaining trends is known to us as rehabilitation programs. This paper focuses on thorough analysis of both these options and the impact that they have on the offenders as well as the society as a whole. The paper also assesses the viability of these options in order to determine which of these will prove to be more effective and beneficial.
Program planning is the implementation of evaluation process. It is the groundwork where priorities are decided and the results are analyzed on a measurable scale.
One major concern is the quality of rehabilitation the inmates receive while they are incarcerated. The question to ask is “Are our prisoners being properly rehabilitated?”
Finally, literature on the juvenile justice system often focuses on program implementation and effectiveness at addressing rehabilitation, as well as diversion techniques within the system (Greenwood, 2008). This review audits these problems in detail and establishes them within the bigger struggle in the juvenile justice system to rehabilitate youth offenders.
The program that this student has designed and will test will not be in a “corporate” type building, it will be conducted within a classroom inside of a public school. This program will be centered on the idea in which both teachers and school administrators come together in helping to truly create a better future through their students, our future. In this classroom volunteers, teachers and therapists will meet to discuss the performance of children in that school. These volunteers would also help collect food and distribute this food to the children in need and their families. This classroom would be the base for educating both teachers and school administrators about healthy boundary crossings, such as when is it appropriate
