Bernie Sander’s Proposed Education Policy is a Good Idea
In America, “college tuition cost have skyrocketed since the middle 20th century,
rising by 1,120 percent between 1978 and 2012,” ( Resnikoff). Tution at selective private colleges and universities has risen by two or three percent annually, which is more than the rate of inflation says Ronald Ehrenberg the Irving M. Ives Professor of Industrial and Labor Relations and Economics at Cornell University, director of the Cornell Higher Education Research Institute, and co director of Cornell's Institute for Labor Market Policies. People are concerned about the increasing cost of tuition. Many people can not go to college because it is too expensive, others leave with mountains of debt

With free educations more people will be able to receive a higher education, students would not leave school with mountains of debt, and it would reduce the amount of people on social welfare because the would be able to get better paying jobs.
College in America should be free because many citizen, especially minorities do not have the money to send their children to college. Higher education for many Americans is hindered by the extreme cost of tuition fees. A free higher education would provide many people with an education that they would otherwise not receive. The United States has to compete in a extremely competitive global economy, and because of this we need the best-educated workforce in the world says Bernie Sanders a senator from Vermont and the potential democratic candidate for the 2016 presidential election. To make the best workforce possible we need for everyone to receive a higher education so that the can contribute to our country. When people from all over the world imigrate and become citizens of the United States they have very little money and cannot afford to send their children to college. They

A free higher education would allow graduating students to start their lives , instead of being held back by debt. On average, students who graduated in 2015 have a debt of about $35,051 person, and these numbers are going to continue to rise unless something is done (Resnikoff). Most students that just graduated from college do not start out at a high paying job, so it will take them years to pay off their student loans. Interest rates on student loans are higher than on auto loans. It makes no sense that “millions of college graduates are forced to pay interest rates of five to seven percent or more for decades” (Sanders). This is counter-productive to our country because students go to college so they can make more money and live lives that many people without a college education cannot afford to live. Students cannot begin their lives if they are held back by the burden of student loans. If elected president Sanders “will prevent the federal government from profiteering on the backs of college students and use [ government] money instead to significantly lower student loan interest rates” (Sanders). The Sanders plan is beneficial to all young Americans who dream of going to college, but cannot because of its cost. The lowering of loan prices would be one step closer to providing free education to all Americans. The
In the 2016 presidential campaign free college tuition was highly debated. President Obama briefly talked about it as well. Tuition is one of the most expensive pieces of obtaining a higher education. US citizens deserve higher education. The people of America are ready for a change. College tuition should be free, so that more Americans can attend higher education and make something of themselves.
In the world today people need to go to college and get a degree. Getting a degree will help the society and people might not be so dumb in life. A college degree can help you life be 100% better. The world will need workers that have a college degree to do the jobs in the society. According to (Center for American Progress) “A recent study by Georgetown University’s Center on education and the workforce found that at current levels of production, the U.S economy will have a shortfall of 5 million college-educated workers by 2020. We need to have more people become nurses, teachers, lawyers or this world will be going down quickly. If we give free college tuition this society might have more students going to get a degree.
There are many students that are struggling to pay for a university education and lately a university education is getting more and more expensive each year. There are many students who graduate high school but don’t receive a university education because they can’t afford one. Most of those students are really smart and can go somewhere in life, but they end up working for a minimum wage because a university education is just too much for them. For that reason, a university education should be free for all students who graduate high with a 3.0 grade point average or higher. If a student has less than a 3.0 grade point average than they shouldn’t even qualify to apply for a university education, because if you can’t get a simple 3.0 grade point average in college what makes you think they can succeed at the university level. There are many reasons a university education should be free for students with 3.0 grade point average or higher. The first reason is that most students who have to pay for there university education usually take out loans and start working part-time so they make enough money to pay for there university education. This tends to discourage them from succeeding and passing at the university level. The second reason is that if smarter students receive a free education, it will decrease the amount of university dropouts. The third reason is there would be tons of job competitions for certain job positions if a university education is free. The forth and
The devising of education policies and ensuring it is adhered to in schools is the responsibility of the National Government, which consists of two divisions that deal specifically with all areas that are relevant to education such as the Department for Education. This department develops the core subjects and syllabus that are studied in the national curriculum throughout schools in the UK as well as Early Years Foundation Stage. The National Government instructs OFSET officers to carry out annual inspections of schools in order to monitor and evaluate whether protocols and procedure are being implemented in regards to school policies, legislations and the law to ensure standards are maintained in teaching practice of the national curriculum etc The DFE also sets up school league tables in order to compare schools and there services, standards achieved, progress etc which are accessible to schools, organizations and the public,
This has always been a question to students if, college should be free to continue their education. In most cases people believe students should not pay for college. Many students could benefit if college was free. A group of researchers studied that the out come free college could result to, lower income students will have a chance for a degree, Student debt will no longer ruien students, and more people will attend college. First, this is a major benefit for lower income students is that now they have an opportunity to attend college without worrying about financial aid money. Letting college be free will eliminate the excuses for not graduating. This would also improve the college graduation rates, as it makes it accessible for low income students to attend. Second, student debt will no longer exist. This will allow students to be smart in controlling more money and responsibly. Most students will also have more money to continue on their major. It will also help low-income save then to waste money they don't have yet. Final, college will allow more people to attend college. This is far most important because people will raise the population of people with a degree. This will also help future generations maintain a healthy grit mentality to attend college. This will also encourage the people to have a better future and healthier life style.
America is known for many things baseball, diplomacy, childhood obesity, McDonalds, and of its vast educational opportunities. Unfortunately many of these opportunities come at an expensive cost. The average for instate tuition at state schools is 9,410 dollars per year so times that by four years it’s a grand total of 37,640 dollars. This isn’t including meal plans, books, and room and board. The United States of America should provide free higher education, college, to all U.S. citizens. The U.S. would benefit from all that this would bring. The expenses that this service would cost is worth the advantages that it provides. There are many people that will be positively affected by a free college education.
should make higher education free for citizens is that more people would attend college, attain a degree from college, and allow students to finish their degree in a timeframe that suits each individual. Free education would also allow students to take leave if situations arise that will make them need time off to deal with it. For example, students can not just stop going to school in the middle of a semester without being dropped from school and having to pay back any money that was used to help fund those classes. Free education would also reduce the stress that students have in paying for their classes, paying for the high cost of books for the classes, and failing their classes for fear of having to pay for the same classes
My first reason for having free college is the fact that students will not have to worry about throwing money down the drain. It has been shown that “Only 52.9 percent of students who enrolled in U.S. colleges and universities in the fall of 2009 completed school.”(nbcnews.com) This means
Imagine a world debt free college students, higher paid people, and less stressed adults worrying about if they have enough money for their tuition. Sadly we can’t have that unless college is free. College tuition today can range from 10,000 to 35,000 dollars or more annually! A lot of us can’t afford that. College education should be free because people with degrees are payed better, there will be more equality, and because there will be better opportunities for everyone.
Education, in America, should be free because having more educated people in this country will potentially increase the job availability. Making education in America without cost will raise taxes and help student debt. America’s youth is being discouraged to receive an education because of the high tuition and high interest rates on student loans. Many students who are in higher education are also being discouraged because of the low job opportunities after they graduate from school. Many countries have made the education system completely free to ensure that people can attain the education desired so why shouldn’t America?
College should be free for students because the U.S. government has many ways to make reasonable changes that would lead to a surplus of money that they then
When a person decides to attend college, the task of paying off student loans falls solely on the person attending college. With free education, nearly everyone would be taxed in order to help pay for an education, even those with no intention of attending a university. That would not be fair to those who decided not to attend a university. Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has a plan to make tuition free for all Americans. According to Sanders’ website, tuition cost a total of seventy billion dollars per year. Sixty-seven percent of that would be covered by federal state while the thirty-three percent would be covered by the state government. This indicates that state and federal taxes will be raised significantly to cover the cost of the students’ education. Not only will taxes be raised significantly, other government policies will have a decreased budget. Medicare and military are the two highest budgets paid for by taxes. If education is made free, then those two and more like it will
College being free could be a big benefit economically nationwide and not just for students who do decide to go. If it were free more people would attend, resulting in gaining more education to get jobs. Today, jobs require some type of college degree or technical skills. With free college education people would be able to get the good jobs, resulting in more money being circulated through the economy, meaning the government would have more tax revenues to
College tuition should be free because it would help benefit the American people who are still in college debt. According to Fire Reserve $1.4 trillion dollars is the total amount of unpaid college debt. One of the benefits we would see in eliminating college tuition is there would be $1.03 trillion dollars no longer helping college students pay their debts. The money could be used to benefit other economically important tasks such as military funding, Medical debt, or even most importantly our national debt could use some help being paid off as well. As more for the people we would see America’s top-students being able to apply at more opportunism schools allowing them to further in their ideas which could help our country prosper. We would also see more students applying their talents, try new ideas, and be able to pursue their American Dreams. If we eliminated college debt the college students who just graduated
Education is so important in any given society. For this reason, it forms a major part of any government’s plans. The plans that any government wishes to implement as regards their education system is determined by existing policies. Factors which influence formulation of policies form the subject of this discussion.
