Protesting is a constitutional right meaning every United States citizen has the absolute right to protest against something that they disapprove of. There are two different means of protesting, nonviolent protests and violent protests. Protesting has shaped our world today whether it was violent or nonviolent. But nonviolent protesting is the most efficient and effective way for change, so if you decide you want to fight for something that you cannot directly change on your own, you might want to nonviolently protest because it is safer, more efficient and it is the proper way to attain something you want, while violent protests are reckless, dangerous and inhumane.
Political decisions, wage cuts, layoffs, discrimination, and so on, are reasons why people protest. You can protest about anything you want If it’s too hot, go ahead protest. Protesting has been around for as long as history can state, from Martin Luther King Jr and his fight for equality, the Vietnam War resistance, and Ghandi’s Salt March. These are incredible examples of peaceful protests that were extremely efficient due to the patience and strategies they consisted of. Protesters usually know what they want. They are ones that want their voice to be heard and want change knowing that it can take a tremendous amount of time. It is the more intellectual people who have the ability to not cause physical harm to those who oppose their beliefs. They also have the academic skills to write sophisticated letters or
In my opinion protesting is irrelevant and a waste of time depending on the topic. liberal yuppies are a waste of space everyone protesting Donald Trump is a yuppy and they all need to get a job. Teachers deserve better pay. Cows are great. If you do not like anything I just said here is a straw so you can suck it up. If you do not like my straw then here is some wood so you can build a bridge and get over it... or burn the bridge down which ever you
Protest have been used throughout our nation’s history in order to reform or implement the ideas that seem just to our nation’s people. The history of protest in America would mainly be because of the government, either the government would be at war or it would be legalizing and denying laws people just don’t like. Nowadays there are laws that have established Americans’ right to protest. As indicated by the article, Amending the Protest Law ”On January the Legislative and Constitutional Affairs Committee approved government-drafted changes to the protest law (law no.107/2013) following a Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC) verdict on 3 December requiring the Interior Ministry to seek a judicial order before banning any
Throughout our history protesting has always been around. It is part of first amendment rights, like freedom of speech and freedom to peaceably assemble. It is essential for a working democracy. From both sides sometimes protesters get out of line to where it is illegal, or police officials violate the first amendment right. Protesters can get violent, but police can create unconstitutional curfews or use illegal force. Everyone right to speech should be respect by everyone, and is protected by the first amendment
Protesting is extremely un-American. After all, this country was founded by people smiling and accepting their circumstances silently and hoping for the best. Said absolutely nobody ever. The basis of the American democracy is freedom of expression. From the Boston Tea Party and boycotts against the Quartering Act to the 2017 March for Science, the history of our nation is dotted with instances of peaceful resistance and protest that are, for the most part, viewed in an extremely favorable light.
Peaceful protesting has been a form of displaying a person’s civil rights through the history of America. There have been several demonstrations of non-violent protest and violent protest in America. For an example, during the Civil Rights Movement, there were plenty of protests that were not violent such as sit-ins, boycotts, and marching. The equivalent to those protest in the present is kneeling for the National Anthem. No one is being harmed during this demonstration, it is simply people expressing their civil rights by kneeling for a cause they believe should be bought in the limelight of America’s attention. However, there have been violent protests in America. In 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama, a riot was provoked by bombings that targeted black leaders who fought for racial justice by the Birmingham police who were apart of the Ku Klux Klan. After the attacks, the African-Americans in the area began to riot because of the police involvement, so the bombings were repressed by the Birmingham Police Department. There as has been several violent riots that would follow but the more recent ones in today’s time would be the riot in Ferguson. After a jury decided that Darren Wilson, a police officer in Ferguson, was not guilty of killing the unarmed black teenager Michael Brown, riots were sparked by the

African-Americans have been oppressed since their arrival in America in 1619. Due to their differences in physical characteristics, Whites considered them an inferior race and therefore treated them as property, disregarding their human rights. After many years of exploitation and abuse, in 1791, slaves on the small island of Hispaniola revolted against French rule and successfully gained their freedom in 1804. It gave hope to African American slaves who, in turn, decided to stand against their masters and gain their freedom. Every one of those rebellions was extremely violent. They were so passionate about the cause and have been oppressed for so long that they targeted
Although it is supposed to be peaceful protesting other may not go about it that way. What could start as a peaceful protest can escalate into a violent protest quickly. Due to the injustice that has occurred in the minority society lately where more of violent protesting is occurred. The refusal to comply with laws are also seen everywhere daily. Due to fact that some people feel they are unfair, or that they just don’t feel the need to comply. Around sixty years ago, the Montgomery bus boycott lead to Montgomery bus integration and thus protester success. Time will only tell if the current civil disobedience protests will lead to protester success similar to their predecessors. In the past, civil disobedience success was treated with uncertainty; yet, now, many years later, the benefits of many protests are seen and praised. If the current acts of protest succeed, they may face initial resentment by many and may be perceived as negative for society. However, if the protests succeed it will be because a majority of US citizens wished it so. Therefore, in the end, the success will likely be viewed like the successes of the Stamp Act boycott and Montgomery Bus boycott. It is a citizen’s right to speak their opinions and their right to be an influence on the government that is purposed to support them. Peaceful, disobedience gives citizens a sense of influence in our society and allows for the voicing of countless ideas and opinions. While many may be irrational and necessary to push away, many have been and may be revolutionary. The United States is a country run for the betterment of its people, and civil disobedience is one of the safest, greatest ways for citizens to have a voice and improve their
People protest because they feel that something is unfair and unjust, but all in all, more people are hurt after the protest because of the way the police handle them. Peaceful protesting was used by powerful leaders such as Martin Luther King, Ghandi, and Nelson Mandela. It was so effective that without it many of us would not have half as many rights as there is now. Even the protests hundred’s of years ago ended with people getting killed, from the Boston massacre, to the civil rights movement. We should learn from the past and use a new protocol to stop the
Throughout history, a common factor between every significant event was the fight for civil rights. Fighting for these rights was generally the cause for a war. However, another form of supporting beliefs for these rights included protesting. The first amendment of the constitution gives you the freedom to express yourself, and also to organize protests. These civil rights protests happen today as well as in the past (“Bill”, 3). These protests include the March on Selma, and The Women's March on Washington that took place in 2016 (Goldberg, 7). Civil Rights protests continue in America because people want racial and gender equality, and they should continue because they are effective.
"Peaceful Protests" happen in our everyday lives. A big one that happens every single day, every hour, every minute, and every second, is the Republican verses the Democratic party. It is okay to have an opinion. But it is not okay to lose your mind. It seems like people now of days just want to be right and have their way. People will lose logic when when they are right or when they are wrong.

I think civil disobedience should be allowed in the form of peaceful protest or nonviolent civil disobedience. To begin with peaceful protest is civil and just spreads awareness. Great people like Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. show that peaceful protest can be used. Mahatma Gandhi used nonviolent civil disobedience to bring an end to unfair taxation and bring attention to the Indian Independence Movement. Martin Luther King Jr. used nonviolent civil disobedience to bring an end to segregation. In contrast regular civil disobedience can be harmful to others not involved. For example the infamous John Brown, who conducted the raid on the federal armory and massacred innocents to bring attention to the abolitionist movement, would go
