1. Inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn.
To inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn I start where they are. I try to show them that no matter the starting point, as long as they are moving up and forward they are successful. We track their progress weekly by using a data binder. I want them to see that there are good weeks and bad weeks.
I show them that they are safe and free to express themselves. We praise one another for effort. We give chances until success is achieved.
2. Have the respect and admiration of students, parents, and colleagues.
Over the years I have had staff members who have asked that their child be placed in my class. I have also had parents request that siblings be with me.
I do know that my colleagues feel comfortable coming to talk to me

Play an active and useful role in the community as well as in school.
I play an active and useful role in the community by being active in my church. I volunteer in the early childhood ministry, monthly outreach opportunities, and indoor maintenance.
In school, I am a member of PTA and attend school events and functions.
4. Be poised, articulate, and possess the energy to withstand a taxing schedule.
Being poised is the ability to remain calm under stressful situations. As a teacher that ability is critical. When a lesson or activity is not going the way that it was planned, I am able to pause, regroup, and start again, all without the students being aware that there was a problem.
Being articulate is being able to communicate effectively. I have the ability to communicate with parents about their child, what their needs are, emotionally and educationally, to be ready to move to the next grade level. I also communicate well with my co-workers. We meet almost daily to discuss our day, what we will teach in the coming weeks, and problems we are having with parents or students. I have years and wisdom about how to effectively head off some potential
It is important that I build positive effective relationships with the children, young people and adults that I work with, to do this I need to be able to demonstrate and model effective communication skills in my dealings with others. I must always consider how I approach people and also how I respond to them. I will

In regard to community, I have volunteered for my clubs, DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), BPA (Business Professionals of America), NTHS (National Technical Honor Society), Cross Country and others. My parents taught me at a young age how to be a considerate

Laura Wallen. My teacher and class sponsor Ms.Wallen was killed during the first week of my senior year. If I had one more chance to talk to her I would be ecstatic. I would want to talk to her because she was one of the first teachers I met in high school. Having Ms.Wallen as a teacher who was always here supporting me was a great feeling. Every Time I saw Ms.Wallen she was smiling. During our homecoming week we would have to design a hallway and even with little to no supplies and only a few class council member, she would make it feel like we were winners. I would want to talk about college applications and all of the senior year events we were planning together. I would want to tell her that I love her and that her support from the beginning

People respond to courtesy and feel comfortable when they know they have your respect. This helps them to be open and willing to ask questions when they don't understand something. By making people feel comfortable, you help them to be better listeners. Avoid words that require a dictionary when communicating cross-culturally. Pepper your communication with words that everyone understands.
I like to be engaged in activities that contribute to the community. I was part of the Mile of Hope, event used to raise awareness for cancer and fundraise to support the families of those affected. Through my membership in National Honor Society I have contributed in activities such as the annual toy drive to provide children in need with a gift on the holiday of Christmas, I also participated in the annual can food drive to provide families food for a Thanksgiving meal. I volunteered at the Brownsville Public Library assisting the public and organizing books. For a period of time I also volunteered at an income tax company Jackson Hewitt cleaning and organizing the
Society expects for students to be able to learn and comprehend any information that is being thrown out. Some students seem naturally enthusiastic about learning, but many need-or expect-their instructors to inspire, challenge, and
Students want and need work that enables them to demonstrate and improve their sense of themselves as competent and successful human beings. This is the drive toward mastery. But success, while highly valued in our society, can be more or less motivational. People who are highly creative, for example, actually experience failure far more often than success. Biehler (p. 225) claims that studies show that when CAI used in conjunction with a teacher's lessons, is particularly beneficial for low-achieving and young students.
I help with cleaning my community, by not littering and picking up trash when i see it.
