Market Research The main research that Nespresso will undergo will be primary research. The survey below would be asked to some of the customers and collected by the researcher. One has to observe all consumers’ opinions regarding a specific product, in this case the muffin. The questionnaire with open and closed questions below will be used to find out what consumers like and dislike so improvements can be made on the product. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being very unreasonable and 10 being extremely reasonable), what do you think about the price being between 3.50 and 4.00 euros for each pack of 10 muffins? 4. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being never and 10 being surely), would you buy this muffin again? 5. One of the main aspects about Nespresso is that it is marketed as the best coffee in the world, so it appeals to people who give coffee a significant importance. Its premium positioning reinforces the sense of “exclusivity” that it wants to give to its product. The Nespresso muffin would also be a niche product that piggy backs of the Nespresso coffee brand and its customer base. In addition, if it became very successful outside of the Nespresso base, it could eventually be between mass and niche, but it is unlikely. Its price positioning and limited distribution (only online and in Nespresso stores) will probably keep it as a niche
