Being accepted into the National honors society is not only and honor, but most importantly a privilege. This means that I have achieved many academic goals, such as my 3.86 GPA, and success in many of my other clubs as well. I have taken multiple honors classes throughout high school and excelled in them. They have taught me a strong positive work ethic and gave me the criticism that I need to better myself. Also, I have been given the responsibility as Captain of my golf team. My job is to instill confidence and inspiration to my teammates ensuring them that they can accomplish the highest of goals on the golf course. Not to mention that is only one of my leadership rolls at Middletown High School South.

Research shows that they tend to favor undergraduates that present leadership and other special talents that make them stand out from everybody else. The Honors College will indeed enhance my values to become recognized, I’m ready to conquer and levitate. We all dedicate our time towards the blueprint that we have planned out for us to elevate to the top. SSG Bob another thing that had alarmed me was your statements about SRT. I was more than surprised when you said you did not care about the team, I am hoping that was a heat of the moment statement. Out of everyone on the team, I think you know that I wanted you on the team because you are a team player, extremely fit, and could bring needed dedication to the team, I know that you would also not let others talk down about our team. I hope you can see where I am coming from on this point. Whether we are in a garrison environment or combat unit, if no one cares about anything and if no one has any pride it will turn into a deadly combination.

Honors College Essay: In its mission statement, the UIC Honors College is described as a community of scholars whose goal is to enrich the education experience of undergraduates and allow the faculty and students of all disciplines to interact in teaching, learning and research. Please tell us “How can you contribute to the Honors College community?” What benefits do you expect in return? (400-500 words)

I will engage in research, acquire hands-on experience, and apply what I learned in class in real life scenarios to make an impact on people’s lives. I will partake in service opportunities like my current roles in NHS and FNHS. My personality will benefit those around me. Honors College will place me in courses with exceptional students who are dedicated and focused. They will push my performance as a student. Even now, classmates gauge their performance with mine and vice versa. As a result, they motivate me to catch up or stay ahead of the competition. Competition is the catalyst for improvement. Likewise, I always encourage my peers to do their best, for I want to see individuals succeed. Moreover, there is no point enrolling in classes that won’t challenge me; where I am perched at the top. These ideals include scholarship, character, service and leadership. Please discuss how you exhibit each of the 4 areas of National Honor Society (Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character). Please be specific. How do you use these ideals to be a contributing member to our community? (answer should be limited to about 250 words)

The National Honors Society boasts of members with significant academic accomplishments, selfless hours of community service, and strong leadership capabilities as a representative of the school’s excellence. Becoming a member of the National Honors Society is a prestigious honor. As a student, I strive for excellence in my academics and have made the honor roll every quarter, showing my aim and dedication to reaching my highest potential. I try not to compete with other students, but with myself. My academics are the result of my hard work, and my dedication towards grades correlates to the dedication I have towards becoming a leader and a role model for the community.

As a member of National Honors Society, I hope to contribute towards being involved and helping to improve our community both in and out of the school environment. Within school, I do my best to represent myself academically and challenge myself to new material when given the opportunity. This can be reflected by my grades and GPA, which I will continue to work on as my high school career progresses. I have always done whatever it took to keep myself in the honor roll, and have kept myself within that range ever since middle school when honor roll started to be announced. As a hard-working, committed individual, I believe that being a member of National Honors Society will significantly benefit my personal character, academic achievements, and social life. After conducting some research on National Honors Society, I have come to learn that NHS needs students that exemplify the qualities of character, service, scholarship, and leadership to be qualified for membership. By being qualified for this outstanding opportunity, I believe that I can attain leadership skills, and confidence which can be beneficial in the years to come.

To me, honor is being rewarded for my hard work in my academics and demonstrating the highest standards of honesty and reliability. Through my two-year position on the Cleveland Heights’ JV Volleyball team, I’ve learned the value of teamwork. In turn, I believe this has led me to become more creative in problem solving and contributing suggestions to continually improve the standards of my surroundings. In addition, I believe my past semester’s grades, which were all A’s, proves that I am capable of demonstrating a focus on achieving academically and diligently pursuing excellence. Thus posing as an example to my fellow students by representing the scholarly aspect of the National Honor Society.

I am genuinely honored to be apart of the small group of students who have a chance at this honor. After looking at the four pillars of Honor society I believe that I belong to this organization to help my community and school become a better place as a member of the national honor Society.

First of all, I am honored to be considered for a spot in National Honors Society. Many people wouldn’t believe that I would even be considered, so this means a lot to me. I would like to believe that I deserve this position because of my hard work and dedication to my academics. If I am accepted into National Honors Society, I hope I learn to become a better leader, role model, and person in general. I would work hard, be a leader, and focus on making the best future for myself. I am very dedicated to in the groups I participate in, including, sports, my job, and extracurricular activities. To be an honors student it means you are responsible and respectful. A honors student should be ready to take a task and fulfil it to the best of their ability. It means they are ready to challenge yourself with complex tasks and complete them responsibly while going above and beyond.
