Raging Bull is a movie based on boxer Jake Lamotta. A prolific pugilist with a rage temper inside and outside the ring, who is portrayed magnificent by Robert De Niro. When I was looking for the movie in youtube I expected a colored film but it was not. The B/W made the movie less visual violent even though indeed it is savage. However, the movie shows the human side of a prizefighter his fears, insecurities, and madness more than the professional in the ring himself. Jealousy based on his insecurities lead to hit his wife Vikki many times, and after 11 years together she finally left him. I was surprised that she was still alive and beauty at that time she left him. I think it is an interesting story that show the demons that are attach to
It’s a unique story. The story is well-developed. It includes a lot of details which are all important for the end of the story. Despite one major plottwist, it is fairly predictable. It’s still a touching story.
Sitting Bull once quoted, “If I agree to dispose of any part of our land to the white people I would feel guilty of taking food away from our children's mouths, and I do not wish to be that mean” ( "Sitting Bull Quotes ). Sitting Bull was a kind and compassionate man that had admiration for the Lakota tribe and the tribe's land, and was also known to have led the Lakota tribe to safety during the many years of defiance against the new American policies. Recognized and admired by the Lakota tribe, Sitting Bull was one of the most famous Native American Chiefs who was known for his bravery to bring fair treatment to his people.
From the very first paragraph of the narrative, I noticed that there were several details that the narrator mentioned that required further, deeper thought. For me, this is what made the story appealing.
He created a monster story disguised as a detective story, which left the audience in awe at the climax in the story where they discover the truth. The way the author simulated the setting in the novella is very reminiscent of how Palahniuk set up the climax in Fight Club. The audience is given the image of individual who has altered persona.
And also when I read about the goblins where they are lived. Also, when the Princess lost herself to their house and she meet her great grandmother at the secret part of their house. And her grandmother is a mysterious in the story because the people on their house didn’t know about the queens at the top of the house, only the Princess. I like also when the Princess and Curdie meets and he saved the Princess from the goblin. And it becomes interesting with me because in that story shows the good relationships of father to daughter, nanny to Princess, grandmother to her grand-daughter, and also to her friends. And also the moral lesson that we can adopt and we can apply to our daily lives. It becomes interesting with me that their house has a secret part, and only the Princess are the one who went there and that place was his grandmothers room. And her grandmother lived only by eating the pigeons egg. I also like in the story is when the Princess do his promises, she did not break
It makes me more curious than scared, and it makes me think about why he is repeating a certain thing so much. Why is it so significant? It makes me wonder more about what is happening in the story. For example in the story”The Landlady” she keeps insisting that the main character drinks his tea and it made me think “Why does she want him to drink his tea so bad? Is it poisoned?” But the repetition and the curiosity makes it just a bit suspenseful. Like why does one of the characters act the way that they do? Why are they being so weird? In the story the Landlady is acting very odd as the main character looks at the two other names on the guest list and is trying to remember them
Boxing, an official sanctioned sport in the early 20th century, is a sport that is known as one of the most violent and physically demanding sports on the earth. Professional boxers that get paid to fight must be in top shape in order to preform at the highest level. Being a professional boxer is a tough life. Boxers train hard for many months leading up to one fight and either win, lose, knock out the opponent or even get knocked out. The sport has been around for centuries, but has most recently taken off over the last 100 years. It is a multibillion dollar industry with fighters taking home hundreds of thousands of dollars if not even millions of dollars for big matches. In his novel Papa Jack, Roberts tells the story of the famous African American boxer Jack Johnson. He details the boxers rise to fame and fortune and his downward spiral that would soon follow. In Papa Jack, Roberts displays life of a professional boxer through firsthand accounts with events that happened during Johnson’s life and shows how boxing not only influenced his life but also how he influenced the African American community.
“Bull- taming is an ancient art that is still practiced today. Now you are going to experience this tough rodeo skill at Six Flags Great America”. The Raging Bull was named by a fierce beast that tormented citizens in the southwest. It is the first hyper-twister roller coaster at Six Flags. The Raging Bull is about
For a first novel, the prose was lovely, and the mystery and alienation came through in the story that always danced over and across a line of fantasy, leaving multiple avenues to interpret parts of the story. It was intangible as ice or snow in the sun, melting and reforming.
Throughout the short story, everyday events occur, but there is a magnificent dash of fantasy which happen to be the angels and their chaotic behavior. As the reader
“Raging Bull” (1980) is not a so much a film about boxing but more of a story about a psychotically jealous, sexually insecure borderline homosexual, caged animal of a man, who encourages pain and suffering in his life as almost a form of reparation. Martin Scorsese’s masterpiece of a film drags you down into the seedy filth stenched world of former middleweight boxing champion Jake “The Bronx Bull” LaMotta. Masterfully he paints the picture of a beast whose sole drive is not boxing but an insatiable obsessive jealously over his wife and his fear of his own underling sexuality. The movie broke new ground with its brutal unadulterated no-holds-bard look at the vicious sport of boxing by bringing the camera
The writer attempts to open the script with a shroud of mystery to hook the audience and give them something to invest in once the story begins. It was interesting and definitely peeks a person’s interest. However, the script immediately falls into a scene of generic everyday banter among the character with a non-progressive narrative or plot.
I found the story to be both irritating and interesting. The character was for the most part funny and I felt like his observations to be spot on and fun. I was irritated by the character’s actions leading to his death, I couldn’t believe that a person would really be that much of a smart Alek with a gun to his head. I had to wonder what was going on in this character’s life to make him wholly uncaring of a bank robbery. I found the pacing of the story worked well. It was slow and fast at the same time. Like waiting in line. I really enjoyed the last paragraph. It was honestly the best part of the story. The memory the character connected to was so ordinary and the connection to the phrase was almost beautiful in its simplicity. I believe the
The weaknesses of the story are just too long. It was too broad, and it will make you boring on some pages. It makes you upset because there’s a twist and some words that they used is hard to understand. Even though there are weaknesses of the story, it will make you be a critical thinker. For the example, on how’s her parents could be find. It is exciting because your expected will not be the same as you expect at the last part of the story. Although it is a true story, there is a doubt that can possibly form in your mind because for me, some details are not possible. But all in all, it is beautiful to have read.
The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua, who has directed tons of successful action-filled movies such as Training day, The Equalizer, and Olympus Has Fallen. Fuqua does an outstanding job by using a variety of angles, lighting, and music to intensify certain scenes throughout the movie. The boxing scenes themselves are like being ringside at a real live boxing match. Fuqua made sure to get close-up looks on both opponents which shows blood, emotion, and dedication from the boxers. Kurt Sutter was the screenwriter behind the film. Kurt Sutter is the creator of Sons Of Anarchy, a wildly successful dramatic tv series. Overall, the movie would not be the same without this amazing pair.
