The story is about a boy, named Oskar. Who is trying to cope with the loss of his father, who died in the attacks on 9/11. He discovers a key in his father’s belongings and tries to find the matching lock.
It’s a unique story. The story is well-developed. It includes a lot of details which are all important for the end of the story. Despite one major plottwist, it is fairly predictable. It’s still a touching story.
The acting gives the story much personality and is really convincing. The most incredibly played character is Oskar, because he is such a complex child and it’s really hard to make him not stereotypical because he has Autism. The actors really made the story come to live.
9/11 isn’t important for the story. The fact that is father
The most obvious change sense 9/11 is U.S airport security and regulations. One of the biggest reasons why 9/11 was such a success for the Al-Qaeda group hijacking of the planes was 100% the airports unsuccsessful security. They were able to board the planes and go through metal detectors at the checkpoint. Thats why just a few short months after 9/11 occured the United States declared the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) is improving public safety while traveling through major transportation areas like airports. Many major airports have TSA, meanwhile some not so large airports have private agencies that are similar to TSA. Americans have had to undergo significant changes in their travel habits and this change seemed to be the
One incident that had really triggered all of this was what happened in New York City on September 11th, 2001. On this day that is better known as 9/11, 19 militants from the terrorist group al-Qaeda hijacked four aircrafts. Two of said aircrafts crashed into the World Trade Center and one crashed into the Pentagon near Washington D.C. During those attacks, Over 3000 people were killed, including more than 400 firefighters and policemen. After the incident, Americans had been paranoid about people who were Muslim, as Al-Qaeda was an Islamic group. Many years later to this day, anti-Muslim bigotry has got much much worse. Things like portrayal and treatment of Muslims has gotten terribly worse.
As we all remember and recognize 9/11 today, please remember that the day started just as many of our day's today will start.
As we get older and more evidence is presented, the significance of 9/11 becomes more clear. In one moment, an entire nation was shook. The planes that crashed into the Pentagon, Pennsylvania, and the World Trade Centers where carefully planned by a group of terrorist. I coincide with you when you stated that it should have been a wake up call to America. Tons of events have happen before and after 9/11; however, America is still un-woke. Tragedy is suppose to bring a nation together but our tragedies seem to always divide and conquer us. I pray that America wakes up before it is to late.
Have you ever thought about how 9/11 affected the world? You probably never noticed, but there was many changes after the 9/11 accident. The United States has awakened by changing many rules in safety. There were many positive outcomes, But mostly negative outcomes. Have you ever wondered why traveling in the airport takes so long?
It was on 9/11/01 when it happened. Hijackers hijacked four airplanes. Some terrorists flew a couple of plains in the two skyscrapers. They caught on fire and then collapse. The Other terrorists flew and destroyed the pentagon. The fourth plane where going to crash the white house but they stopped them before they did. About 3,000 people died that day.
The tragic events of 9/11, have drastically added to the myriad of recognized risk types and threats as well as the security recommended and required to counter those threats. The Security Manager must be aware of current threat trends, as well as mitigation strategies for the risks identified by the stakeholders. The mitigation strategies vary depending on the type of asset, location, threats and level of risk. These risks can include the spectrum of natural events and disasters, human-caused events as well as the secondary events spawned by primary events. This paper will examine special event security, its purpose, and when such security is recommended.
he event that took place in 9/11 changed the History. But my biggest question is why didn’t we learn anything from our previous threats. We’ve had terrorist attacks from way back when . We only learn how to protect ourselves by something tragic to happen. To me it’s the saddest part of our government. The Terrorists attacks can come formulate in many areas. These terrorist are in our back yards. These terrorists want their voices heard. The way is done is brutal and will definitely capture an audience. The targets of the terrorist are Government officials, Government employees, and Government supporters. Let’s start with these three. These are targets that can be chosen based on the policies offered. Both employees and the supporters can
America needs to understand that 9/11 happened for a reason, but all the reasons I have researched are contradictory. America has been bombing the Middle East for a while and 9/11 is their revenge. Since 9/11, the country has been in a state of fear thinking that all Muslims are terrorists, which is not true.
On September 11, 2001 one of the world’s most tragic terrorist attacks happened to the United States; Terrorist’s hijacked four planes and crashed two of them into the World trade center located in New York city the third plane crashed into the pentagon and the last one was crashed somewhere in Pennsylvania on a field. Many lives were taken away that day; because of this tragic attack different sparks of questions and conversations raised to the surface, mostly bad. There were many questions that involved America’s security, such as our airports, the amount of tourism we had, and immigration we allowed in. People even sparked questions related to the government, such as, “Should we trust our government?” and “Was this a set-up?” Once questions about the government entered the air, American citizens started to think, if they should trust other countries into our state. I believe this topic can be very controversial because of the different ways you can look at this tragedy. I believe the United States of America was affected in so many ways and in all the research I have done my goal is to inform you on the many different ways September the 11th affected America’s security, our government and the American View.
The first image I choose was the picture of the American flag with the words “Never Forget” underneath it. I choose this because 9/11 was truly a horrific that should never be forgotten. We should never forget the people who died in the attack and the people who died trying to save people caught in the debris. The second image I choose was the picture of the 9/11 memorial. The 9/11 memorial has the names of everybody who died in this attack inscribed on it. It is a place were people go to honor the dead and a place people got to remember the atrocities of 9/11. The next image I choose was the picture of the twin towers. The twin towers were the buildings that were attacked on 9/11 and are a very important detail in remembering the event. The
The most terrible thing happened on September 11,2001 was chaos, is our ability to mourn people people we've never met’’ says David levithan. That day I hope now one forgets.9/11 was when two of the world trade centers hit is was awful If you want to see clips of it go to(9/11 quotes: Remembering September 11th )The two twin towers hit by terrorist. The tragic event happened so badly not many survived infact about 2,977 died maybe more but that’s all they could find. The sad part was the terrorist knew they couldn’t destroy the united states military, so they set their sights on symbolic targets instead. Like the twin towers. This should effect a lot of people because
On September 11, 2001 was a significant day in history for many people. Those who lived during this time and who will read about this tragic day years from now, 9-11 will forever be a date that everyone will remember for history. There were many significant lives lost on this day. However, focusing on the twin towers along with the planes that crashed into the two buildings there are five groups that lost their lives on this day. Starting first with the terrorists, secondly the ones in the plane, third the ones in the towers, fourth the first responders, and lastly the ones back home.
The book revolves around a nine year old boy, Oskar Schell, who is determined to find a lock for the key he found. It’s a very sad and deeply flawed novel which focuses on Oskar, and the view of the outside world. Additionally, it shows us the struggle of losing someone you love in such a tragic moment. The adventure begins to ravel when he discovers a key that belonged to his father, and believes that his dad had purposely left this for him. Throughout the novel, he gains his hope for the search of the outside world, in order to find clues of this mysterious key; perhaps to open a lock. While reading this novel, I referred back to my personal experience when I lost someone special. This novel can connect with many other lives as well, because
The story combines drama, with humor, fantasy, and romance. The characters are very likable and it’s easy to root for them. The goal is clear for the hero and heroine and the stakes are high. The story is driven by the themes of faith, believing, and the universal premise of good versus evil. At the end, love triumphs over evil.
