The 18th annual Riverdale Art Walk is being held nearby at Jimmie Simpson Park Saturday on June 4th and Sunday on June 5th. For the first time this year, RAW is housing indoor space to occupy more room for more artists. Likewise, the Network holds town hall meetings, workshops and seminars in the Ralph Thornton Centre, which is located within a one-block radius of the Network. The Ralph Thornton Centre (RTC) is also a not-for-profit community organization dedicated to working with agencies, individuals, and groups to empower citizen action, exchange support, and celebrate special events (Ralph Thornton Centre, 2009). The space available in the RTC includes the auditorium, suitable for large meetings and social events, program space for educational seminars, and meeting spaces. The Network is a proud affiliate and anyone can apply for the space free of charge. Fortunately, the Network can afford to relocate outside the Riverside community, but it is preferential to stay in that area. Originally, my assumptions were tied to the office location being integral to the Riverside community. While that holds some merit, it can afford to relocate if necessary. Moreover, our external communication is mainly executed online through or website, MailChimp, and Akimbo.
