My favorite music is rap. There’s something about rap that makes me feel a certain mood I can hardly explain. There are many rappers out there that some people may like that I don’t. I also make raps in my free time if i’m in a silent room and listening to rap music to get me in that mood. I like classic rap like 2pac and Biggie, and some modern rap like Danny Brown and Stitches. A lot of people bully me over the music I listen to and I try my best to ignore them but they somehow get in my head. I also like some rock like Hed.Pe and Three Doors Down. I’m like my dad in a way.
Some of the rap songs I listen to mostly happen in my life, and when I listen to those certain songs I get depressed. Rapping is a dream of mine, and I want
stuff, so I don't listen to that genre all that much, but there are many
Rapper beefs have been a huge part of the history of Hip-Hop. It has built and destroyed careers, made people money, lost people fortunes, changed the views of fans on their favorite artists , destroyed businesses and companies, and even cost people their lives. Beefs have brought people to the spotlight and sent others to the shadows. Hip-Hop wouldn’t be the same industry without rappers at each others throat every once in awhile. Some of the most iconic songs wouldn’t have been written if it weren’t for some feud with another rapper. It’s proven that beefs make and sell records and always leave people wanting more.
Hip-hop has been around for several years and is still popular today. It has developed into both a cultural movement as well as a musical genre. Hip- hop is comprised of rap, graffiti, breakdancing, rapping and beatboxing (Soeparno 1). It has emerged from something so small into something so important in our lives that we need to understand how hip-hop began by recognizing the artists who started it all as well as how the style has changed to what it is today.
Despite being a powerhouse in the world of hip-hop, Young Thug has finally reached an accolade that has eluded him.
Hip hop emerged onto the music scene in the late 1970s and has since become one of the largest entertainment genres across the globe. Numerous styles have been created since its birth, spinning off and growing into a reputable form of music. Initially, hip hop was created as a way to deviate from rock and roll using rhyming couplets and electronic beats not aimed for worldwide success. The genre has now grown into one of the most intricate styles of music, requiring mastery of lyrical prominence, along with the use of unique beats and synthetic variations. Fast forward to the current state of hip hop and you will find that two types of rap are prevalent: conscious rap and mumble rap. Conscious rap focuses of the lyrical value and meaning of what
The music I listen to is rap mostly tupac. I started listening to him in 2015 I have a while and I never get bored of him. Another rapper I listen to is YG. I also never get bored of his songs. I listen to them everyday even when I am working. If I am home I put pandora on the tv and just put full volume and I just sit back and relax. Music makes me want to do things and relax. It doesn´t take my mind off of anything I still listen to the teachers. I understand what they say and respect them. Music has been around for a very long time and rap it has changed a lot. Tupac talks about life his life, reality. When he was at a studio doing a song people asked him, Pac what do you think or how do you think future rappers are gonna be and he told
Many members of society would say rap music is demeaning and objectifying towards women, has no class or is “ghetto”, or even that it should not exist. Yet, pop music liters our stereos, Television, even children’s shows. I feel most of the well produced and meaningful rap songs are overlooked. If we look to a handful of artists, it is clear their music is objectifying. However, humans are complex and unique beings and cannot be put into one category. For instance, Logic has made many meaningless songs, but he has also made so many songs full of amazing, real-life stories. He has rapped about the many demons throughout his life, and then the next year made an entire album prophesying the future of the planet. Other musicians, such as Jessie J and Ariana Grande are highly looked up to by many teenagers, but their music lacks meaning.
The music of the new generation has a completely different meaning than music of past generations. Many publishers of music explain that music changes with culture and how it brings joy no matter which generation listens to it. Kanye West, a rapper of today made the following statement, “Right now it is a fight against the separation and constant dumbing down of culture.” It is time to speak of our beliefs. Also, to show our music is not just fond of being a new generation, anybody, and anyone can have affection to rap music that relates to your life in any sorts of way and that is the silver lining in this whole misconception.
Many people just listen to rap music because of the beat and how it sound, but whta they fail to recognize is the words that are being aid. Many rappers talks about what they go through and how they deal or have dealt with it. Kevin Gates, a well known rapper, made a song called “Hard for”. In the song he talks about what he had went through growing up and asked his wife why do she want his heart, meaning what good do she see in him to make her love him the way she do. Pay attention to the lyrics and you’ll learn so much about an artist that you never
Death Rap is the fifth studio album by American rapper Necro, released on September 11, 2007. This album was produced Psycho+Logical-Records through Koch Distribution.
It depends on my mood and the music I listen to like rap music makes me hype and happy but also makes me think about the past life and the struggles I have gone through and the stuff I have seen. I only know a couple of people that can relate to the facts they say in rap music. The people who like rap music they will mostly have the same emotional make up the same mindset or even an event in their life which makes them relate to rap music. The people that relate to the same type of music I feel like it is easier to get along with and the things you say makes sense to them. The topic of music is the most interesting thing to me. It fascinates me as you can tell if I can write a 2,000-word paper just on the theme of music. People that have the same relationship I do with music, I find that we become close because I find music is one of the best ways to bring people together. I have a profound love for music and the artists I love like Travis Scott and the ability for him and his music to make my body get the chills down my spine. This shows how much I like his music and the great appreciation I have for it. Everything to the new school rappers who love to make up new words and incorporated it into their music. It is as they talk in code and the only people that understand are the people from the same hood most of the words are different words for drugs and other stuff they do not want anyone else to hear and find out what they are talking about. This gives the music a certain style all the music differs from each hood and states like music for LA and Atlanta are gonna be very different and most of the time that starts gang wars just over music. Music is the most interesting thing to me it is everywhere and everyone I have never met someone who doses not like music in
In our schools today, we need to start reinforcing the creative abilities of the younger generation and allow encourage them to express themselves. This is where, Hip Hop Based Education comes into play. Also known as HHBE, this a movement that helps bring hip hop into the classroom. “We are experiencing a generational shift in the U.S. teaching force. Because of this shift, along with the increased presence of hip-hop culture within American culture, many educators no longer view hip-hop culture with the same air of skepticism common in the early stages of HHBE” (Love). HHBE has many positive and influential outcomes for children living in inner cities. By bringing hip hop and rap music into schools it serves as an educational tool for educators as it “acts as an outlet so such people could express themselves angrily…they often used gangsta rap to tell the stories of their lives, which sometimes included strong violence, hypersexuality, and drug abuse”(Canton). We have to step away from the fact that most people associate hip hop as a form of negative influence that has violent tendencies and start realizing that artists using their music to spread a positive message to help influence others and their actions. “In high-crime areas, putting on these made up personas is life-threatening, but the fact that gangsta rappers told the stories of others is often seen as having earned them respect for raising awareness of the severity of inner-city crime” (Canton). Hip hop based
I like all music, except for rock. My favorite music is hip hop, it is basically modern poetry just with a rhythm or a basic beat. Music calms me down, but some music makes me want to go crazy! Rock is also poetry, but it don't make much since, the beats really weird and the lyrics are exotic. My favorite hip hop artist is Kendrick Lamar, or Kid Cudi. They make music about things you need to know, or catchy songs. I also like Reggae music, my favorite singer out of that culture is Bob Marley. Yeah al the music is alike, but something about the beat and lyrics makes it totally
ULTURE HAS EVOLVED and matured, since the days when artists were just having fun and not all about the money, fame, and power. However, one thing that has become an unfortunate and reoccurring issue within the culture are the contradictions of the culture. From the boisterous and degrading hate-filled language concerning women to occasional and temporary references of adornment and love towards some women. Rhetorically speaking, how can a female determine her status in a world filled with contradictions about baby mama’s, disloyal ho’s, good girls, and wifey’s? This is just one of the ongoing concerns and conflictions in Hip Hop; especially in regards to rap lyrics.
I changed my mind about rap music. Growing up, I never really liked it, the quick beats, the vast usage of inappropriate words not equipped for my adolescent ears disgusted me. I associated rap music as being "dirty," only discussing explicit topics and having no real meaning. While everyone else in high school was blaring Drake and Lil Wayne in the parking lots, I was perfectly okay with listening to Demi Lovato or John Legend. During my sophomore year of high school, my friend kept pestering me to listen to the Hamilton soundtrack, and even though the songs were raps, I realized I loved it. Eventually, I started to not associate all rap music as detrimental and discovered that some rappers rapped about important messages of adversity, conflict, and pain. This lead me to listen to Chance the Rapper's "Coloring Book, " Childish Gambino's "Red Bone and J Cole's "4 Your Eyez Only." I realized that rap is just poetry with accompaniment, poetry that has the rhythm and style to bring generations of people together.
