Since the first day of the course, I have learned a lot about creativity and critical thinking. It has opened my eyes to brand new ways of how to express my creativity more efficiently; By thinking through problems and coming up with the best solutions possible; About different methods of critical thinking and how to be as successful as a student. In this reflection, I am going to express what I have learned in more detail. Starting with how I learned how to solve problems, the strategy I used successfully completed this course with what I learned, how this Course helped make connections to ‘real world’ and other courses in CWI, and lastly, how I put all that I learned into the ‘Final In-Class Project-The Wallet Project.’ First, how I …show more content…
So, I do not miss any assignments or quizzes in future courses Next, how this Course helped make connections to the real world and other courses in CWI . Is that when I learned about Good Stealing and Bad Stealing. I used it when I did my final art project for ARTS-109 in deciding how to design my collage that I put together. I also used what I learned about Creative Thinking, in helping me to make origami eight-sided stars and other origami. I plan to continue to use what I learned in my course and life. Lastly, how I will put all I learned into in the “Final In-Class Project – The Wallet Project”. When it came to finding the problem . I asked my partner, Marco about what he would want to change his wallet. He said that he would like more pockets to put all the cards he has, a clear pocket to put his licenses and something to help him not lose his wallet. To solve this problem, I drew down some examples of wallet designs with what he told me he wanted. After the next class, I will show him the designs, he may choose one design that he likes or maybe multiple aspects of two or more designs. I will use a design he chooses or draw a design that he like about different designs and make a final prototype. I then will hand it to my partner to test out and get feedback about the design. I will and have used what I learned about critical and creative thinking from the project, by using a step by step
Critical thinking is being able to think clear and rational, having skillful judgement on complex issues, and being able to analyze or evaluate information gathered by using a person’s whole brain. Thinking is being able to take in and process information. Critical thinking helps us understand how others think, learn, act towards other’s etc. “However it is also true that our individual brains td to favor certain types of thinking and learning over others (Abitheira, 2014 p. 2). Critical thinking can be defined in many different ways, and being a problem solver is one definition of critical thinking. Being able to solve problems makes us responsible for our reasoning and critical thinking skills to brainstorm
Critical thinking is one of the most important traits that a person can have in their day to day lives. This was by far the most challenging course that I have encountered while obtaining my Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from UCMO. That is not a negative comment as this course has actually impacted me professionally more than any other course I’ve taken to date. This course has taken more time to complete the assignments, more of my attention to detail, and more of my creativity. The last point was the best part about this course. I consider myself to be fairly creative and this course definitely allowed me to do that while bringing my somewhat odd personality to a professional forum. For this I am grateful. Let’s get to the good stuff, shall we?
Sight What do you see when you look at me? Do you see my face? My hair? My shoulders?
Critical thinking involves evaluating and analyzing data in order to form a reasonable judgment about a particular topic or idea. It is not simply believing a subject matter because someone in authority or expertise said it, but challenging those arguments in order to form a well thought out conclusion. A critical thinker will normally not accept an answer without reasoning; they require evidence to validate or prove their conclusion. The ability to reason logically is a fundamental and disciplined skill that can be learned over time.
1. What assumptions did you notice as you worked with the paper the second time around?
As this session began, I welcomed Morgan in and asked her to summarize her problem in her own words. I did this because I wanted to hear what my client views her problem as. After summarizing her problem, Morgan informed me that she has stopped drug use but attributes this behavior to not wanting to do “anything, anymore.” I asked my client to elaborate on this lack of motivation but I should have focused on it a little more. After dropping the bombshell that she did not have any feelings at all anymore, I did not know what to say to my client. I tried to handle the situation to the best of my ability and ask Morgan about her existing problem of anxiety; but she kept saying she was numb. When asked to elaborate on this feeling of numbness,
It is through critical thinking that one is able to excel however, in order to achieve a plan must be in place. By reflecting on the day’s activities, one is able to calculate and weigh options that were present thus coming up with the best and efficient way of handling the task at hand.
Critical thinking is a process by which a thinker can improve the quality of their thinking through a process. It involves a series of process, that actively and skillfully conceptualizing, evaluating, applying, and analyzing information to reach an answer or a conclusion. This allows the reader to process the information received to come to a reasonable conclusion based on a reasoned process. This process involve the utilization of the ten step methodology presented in Browne and Keeley’s book called “Asking the Right Questions”. After reviewing the critical thinking question, I do think that the student did jump at the job opportunity based on her emotions. In the question it states that she had an admiration for this employer and said yes, before looking into other possible job opportunities. To me, she let her emotions guide her when making the decision to take the job as oppose to finding other job opportunities. I think that most people are swayed by their emotions or gut feelings they have about making a life changing decision. I also think her decision had to with her just being fresh out of college because it could be that she does not have a lot of job experience. Also, this was the first job offered to her and she did not have to put effort into looking for
A well thought out critique of one’s actions or thinking is immensely valuable. While hearing this constructive criticism may be uncomfortable, the information one gains from another’s insights is advantageous. When my colleague and I were discussing our self-assessments two points of importance came to light. First, the thirst for knowledge and never being satisfied with the amount of material I have learned is a strength of mine and a path in which I will continue to travel down. Secondly, issues in my thinking process in which I thought were minor, became major areas of concern. In particular, my preexisting unconscious biases are impairing my thinking and could potentially be detrimental to my patients in the future. However, if I can confront
Understanding and using critical thinking is very important. Critical thinking is not something that is taught as we grow up at home, it is a personal skill that we have automatically.

The concepts of critical thinking and creative thinking are both gaining increasing importance in the world today. Critical thinking allows people to understand difficult concepts in a manner that is clearer and more defined. They can more readily understand those concepts if they employ critical thinking. In all portions of everyday life, a person is expected to make independent judgments. Those judgments are based on experience and knowledge. Without the ability to think critically, every situation that a person comes across would have to be considered in isolation from all other situations. When a person encounters a problem that is a new one, he or she may be able to use critical thinking to solve those problems.
One of the ideas associated with lifelong learning is “developing critical thinking.” This is something I must work on in my day to day life. Not just for my career but I think critical thinking is a key characteristic that enables us to be interesting. From critical thinking comes solid questions with exciting answers.
