When a knight is visualized, the first attribute that comes to mind is the shining armor. It’s strong, flashy, and apparent when seen, much like most of anyone’s strengths. What isn’t apparent, is the scars received over the years from weapons used against them that have penetrated their strong armor and slashed through their weak flesh. When training to become better one must identify their strengths, their armor, and most importantly their weaknesses. Only through a conscious effort will one turn weaknesses into strengths. My initiative, ability to adapt to patient needs, and communication with both staff and patients, have become my strengths over these past three weeks. On the other hand, my ability to submit clinical paperwork to instructors, long exam times and marker placement has been identified as my short comings.
To begin with, throughout the entirety of my life, my greatest strength has been my initiative. It is hard for me to wait around or be told to do something. I have always been more of the “tell me what I need to accomplish and the next time we see each other it should already be done” type of person. In the clinical atmosphere this has been recognized by my clinical instructors and technologists. On the very first day, the technologist, Archie, sat me down and told me what he expects out of me as a student.
