In the future, I am almost positive I want to become a Registered Nurse. Getting to interview a female in the line of work I want to be in in the future was eye opening. Although the interview was through email, I got to learn a great amount that I wouldn’t through books. I got the pleasure to interview Teresa Carr, an Advanced Clinician otherwise known as a Registered Nurse. Interviewing this particular person gave me some insight on how it would differentiate from other careers.
Learning about her experience throughout the years of becoming a Nurse will give me a different point of view. When asked about why she chose to become a nurse, Teresa said she was always helping people since she was a little girl. Growing up with a family member

Fifthteen years ago she started at Sharp with only an Associate's Degree and is now continuing her education. Her communication and leadership skills, and the capability a demonstrated nurse requires were all many of the skills that did partake in her hiring. 15 years working at Sharp Memorial Hospital and is nowhere near quitting or retiring. As the years past, so did the requirements for hiring at Sharp Memorial Hospital. Now, the hospital only hires those who have a Bachelor's Degree. Sharp Memorials Hospital mission is to “improve the health of those we serve with a commitment to excellence in all that we do. Our goal is to offer quality care and programs that set community standards, exceed patients' expectations and are provided in a caring, convenient, cost-effective and accessible manner” says Teresa. Maybe that was her initiative to apply in this position at the hospital. Besides the great mission to better healthcare, Sharp Memorial Hospital provides education to their staff. When asked, Teresa said she is offered a reimbursement for part time employees such as herself and also offers reimbursement for continuing education credits for her license. She is now back at school obtaining her bachelor's degree. Since she is a part time worker, it could be different education for its full time
In 2003 during the last semester of nursing school, my life was devastated as my ex-husband was arrested as a serial rapist. This was overbearing and I thought this as being impossible to recover from. A breaking point came as I approached a red light deciding whether to deliberately run my minivan into oncoming traffic with my two young children to end our lives. Only days later, I once again felt that I was at the lowest point in my life as the reality of this event truly hit during a medical-surgical examination.
People around the world would not be cared for, educated, and have emotional support during their injuries and their family member's injuries, if it was not for Registered Nurses. Registered Nurses need to genuinely have people skills in order to care for patients and their families. Registered Nurses need to educate people on health care and how to take care of themselves during injuries. The amount of RN's has been growing at a percentage of 19%, which is faster than average ("Registered Nurses: Occupational Outlook Handbook"). This is excellent because there are more Registered Nurses, therefore, there are more patients being cared for. Being a Registered Nurse requires an associates degree, specific qualities such as people skills and sympathy, and knowledge about medical care to be able to do the duties.
I am highly interested in attending MASH, because I want to learn first-hand the career I want to pursue. I have wanted to be an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner ever since my APRN showed me how rewarding it was to help other people by healing them and being there for them in their time of need. This program appeals to me because I am always wanting to learn as much as I can about health care and what it takes to have a health care career. I could bring a positive energy to this program with a smiling face and positive attitude. I am always willing to learn and have an open mind. Attending the lectures, participating in the hands on activities, and shadowing is exactly the opportunity I have been looking for and would be extremely grateful
According to my interviewee, the Master’s graduate program as compared to the undergraduate program was more challenging but yet rewarding. This was attributed to the fact that she had a strong passion for informatics and wanted to obtain a higher level of education.
From the interview with Ms. Lakesha Carter, I have come to the conclusion that I would enjoy being a nurse for multiple reasons. The job of nurse can range from helping patients to and from their rooms to feeding and tending to their everyday needs. I have also come to understand that nursing is not just a job where you just help elderly people all day. A nurse is a lifeline for patients who range from the stages of an unborn child to an elderly person. Nurses help people who are in need for some help throughout the day. Ms. Carter made it clear that this job is not easy and should always be taken seriously. This interview affected my career choice by making it clearer that I would do a great job as a nurse. I am capable to help better the

My sister was at hospitals and doctors offices a lot during this time of her life. Now, I recognize that without the skilled medical professionals tending to my sister, she would not be here today. People of the medical world have always amazed me and have had my respect. because of the experience my family has been through, I now want to become a registered nurse. Since realizing my career path I have taken the first steps toward my nursing degree and started taking prerequisite classes for my local junior college nursing program.

In the day of the life of a Registered Nurse, they can perform many different duties depending on what population they work with. It can conclude performing physical exams and health histories. Murder, homicide, sexual abuse, robbery, and burglary cases are all of so crimes detectives deal with every day. It's a very emotionally/challenging job. You have to be a very strong, forceful, strong-minded individual. A detective is responsible for the investigation and finding out all the information about the situation. Being a detective isn't easy you are constantly working on the case after case.
Careers aren’t about making money; iIt’s about doing something that you love and wanting to be at work everyday- that’s why I want to be a Registered Nurse or a Veterinarian because I love helping people and/or animals. Helping people and animals everyday would be something different and fun at the same time; I would be able to get the chance to save people, take care of people, and even help animals that are wounded or sick. Some of the things i’m going to be talking about with both careers are; Job Outlooks, Skills Necessary, Schooling, Salary, and the Work Environment that these jobs have. A registered nurse does a lot of different things to help people out and take the best care of them. They record medical histories and symptoms, observe
In the interview the question about any advice she wanted to offer was asked, with a big smile on her face, I am sure, she responded that the field is “wide open” ("Nursing Informatics as a Career," 2011) she continued on to say, if you are a self-starter it
they also receive on the job training as education through trial and error while working
