Throughout highschool I have grown as a person. Three words I would use to describe myself as would be friendly, caring, and positive. My mom has always taught me to include everyone in everything. This is the main reason why I am so friendly. Whenever I see someone sitting alone at lunch, or even walking to class alone, I am the type of person to go up to them and talk to them to make sure they know they are always welcomed to join me. Two things I try to accomplish everyday are telling everyone good morning and giving everyone at least one complement. I love doing this because you never know when someone can be having a bad day and the one compliment you give them can change their whole day around. I would also say

Working at the daycare has shown me how much children look up to us student athletes. One of my biggest dreams is to be the person little kids are talking about when they say, “I want to grow up and be like her.” I am also extremely proud of my athletic accomplishments. My sophomore year I was selected to be a part of the SDHSAA all state honorable mention team for soccer, Dakota XII Conference honorable mention team for volleyball, and I was also selected as the player of the week from ESPN 99.1 for volleyball. My junior year I was selected to be a part of the Dakota XII Conference second team and Region 4a regional first team for volleyball. My senior year I was selected to be a part of the Dakota XII Conference second team and Region 4a regional first team for volleyball, was accepted as to become a part national honors society and homecoming royalty court. Another thing I am proud of is being a part of the state runner-up team two years in a row. I am proud of this because not many teams can say they made it to two state games. Although we did not come out as champions, I believe this made everyone on my team a stronger person because it has made all want to work even harder in order to achieve all of the other goals we want to
The foreclosure crisis is the second major financial dilemma of the twenty-first century. To solve this, the roots of the problem need to be dug up and exposed followed by replanting with an appropriately improved regulatory system to help build stronger roots for the future. It seems that the free market system can't be free anymore given its intertwining roots extend way beyond domestic to international financial systems. There are two fundamental causes to the latest credit crisis: 1) poor quality securitized mortgages and 2) insufficient underwriting for credit poor borrowers. Secondary (downstream) problems making the financial crisis more complex include underemployment and business failures. Many banks,
My father is going to retire in some years and my mother is a house wife. They both have invested in their house heavily therefore these reasons might affect my family’s ability to fund my college tuition.
I want to express my highest appreciation for your contribution to my continuing academic success. I am honored to be a recipient of the Wells Fargo Scholarship through the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Your generous support will allow me to continue to push toward my goal of graduating summa cum laude.
Mental health consoling is offer in schools across the country. Most schools offer some form of REBT.
Ever since I was a young kid I have always been interested in movies. My grandma, who was full of the wise the life experience left, always knew about my interest in movies. She feed my vain for the art. Even though her religion, she professed Adventist of seven-day religion, didn't let her go to the cinema, she always found the way to took me to the cinema. She and I enjoyed watch movies. We used to sit in the darkness room, with our faces illuminated from the reflection of the light which rebooted from the screen, both absorbs in the plot of the movie which made us laughed or cried. After the movie, while we went back to her home, she started to talk about the movie. She had a particular point of view where the main story
Being accepted to Auburn University is the greatest remarkable event that has happened to me in the past few months. There is something drawing myself to attend Auburn University and I remain unable to decipher it. I consider myself a worthy candidate for a scholarship as I have abundant leadership skills and I want to become an improved person. I reside in Georgia and that makes me an out-of-state resident and that will increase my tuition; I do not need this situation to stop me from going to my dream school. I love this school to the extent that I just did not bother about all the other schools that I have applied in since I already acquired acceptance in the one school I am interested in attending. Also, I have always liked the idea of
The predicament I am in right now is a blessing, considering the trials I have dealt with in the past. Growing up in inner-city Jacksonville propelled me into the man I am becoming today. Some of the circumstances that many inner-city adolescent youth deal with growing up, such as single-parent households, and inadequate financial stability; automatically dubbed me as a product of my environment. Paving a way for my family is what motivated me the most, and like many teenagers, I felt the task could be strictly achieved by athletics. I had a strong aspiration of playing professional sports, and had varying degrees of success in basketball, and football. Honestly, I was never considered the greatest by my peers, but it was hard to debate my work ethic. Seeing my mother work rigorously day in and day out inspired me. She encouraged me and imparted her knowledge on life’s challenges towards me.
As soon as I am caught in sight, my chemistry teacher smiles before screaming these two words which mean “Hello, teacher” in Korean. I awkwardly smile back and return the greeting. Mr.Astri has been studying the language for over four years, and I have been helping him since my sophomore year. I always felt obliged to share my knowledge and skills, and Mr.Astri’s enthusiasm persuaded me to continue helping him throughout high school. He has shown remarkable improvement and always credits me for the progress. The satisfaction I feel from his acknowledgement confirms that I will never cease to help people, and that is how I will contribute to the Towson University campus community.
While the social aspect of school was not always easy, being on the volleyball court gave me a sense of belonging and confidence. I had been playing for a few years and I had definitely started to excel. My team was phenomenal that year but nothing came easy. My hard work, skills and leadership were major factors, along with all of the diligent work my teammates put in. I had been told that I was talented: however, I was more than humble because talent itself would never be enough. It was the leadership skills that I developed through something as simple as a game of volleyball that added to my personal and team success. I started getting recognized and winning things like MVP and the sportsmanship award. It was evident that my teammates looked up to me. Those major accolades were massive confidence
Looking at me you may see a daughter, a mother or a Riverside Homecare nurse but there is much more if time is taken to really know me. I am a nurse with a vision and desire to partner with other healthcare professionals to offer optimal healthcare while staying true to myself, my nursing expertise and the mission of our health system. Participating in RELA would expose me to a skill set that wasn’t explored in nursing school. We were taught to be patient advocates and the nursing process. There was no lecture outlining a path from the patient bedside to the board of directors. I am looking forward to RELA providing a platform where I can collaborate with peers and learn new ideas because everyday problems rarely have a singular solution.
Through serving Americorps I would have the opportunity to volunteer and serve in multiple cities throughout the United States. However, even though I am aware that I have the opportunity to leave Buffalo, and travel to another city or states for a new adventure I decided to devote my year of service to my hometown of Buffalo, New York. When I first told my friends and professors that I would be applying for Americorps after graduation the first questions asked were “where are you going?”, followed by “why don’t you want to go somewhere warmer” when I replied that I would be staying in Buffalo. Although I admit I would prefer the Californian or Arizonian heat over the arctic, relentless, and frigid weathers of Buffalo, I recognize that if I
My favorite sport is basketball, but I have been a four-year varsity starter for both the baseball and the basketball teams at our high school. Being thrust into varsity as a freshman was very challenging as the pace of play in both sports increased drastically from junior high. However, I knew I needed to keep working hard and not become complacent. I have remained the starting shortstop for out baseball team every year and have become a team captain. I also became a team captain in basketball and became the leading scorer for the team. In fact, I was a 1,000 point scorer in basketball finishing with a total of 1,355 points thus making me the 25th highest scorer in Franklin/Fulton County history according to Chambersburg’s Public Opinion. Not only did I have a successful individual career in basketball, but our team also accomplished many things over my four years. When I first started as a freshman and for many years prior, our team was not that good. We finished the year below .500 and did not make the district playoffs. However, our team really turned the program around over the next three years. In my sophomore year, my team finished 3rd in the district and made only the second state playoff appearance in our school’s history. Then, the next 2 years, our team finished as the runner-up in our district and made 2 more state playoff appearances. Also, in my senior year, we became the
Maybe it’s the result of being the oldest sibling, or maybe it’s the result of having to see my parents belittled because they were poor immigrants. Whatever the reason may be, I’ve never liked seeing people get knocked down by others.
At the high school, my family has had great success in their athletic careers. My father won a state championship in baseball; my brother made it to the elite eight in the state for soccer. The only accomplishment that sets me apart from them is that I was the first and only one to letter in a sport their sophomore year. This gave me an athletic edge over my brothers that allowed me to brag and end their criticism against me. Lettering alone did not transition me to an adult, but the respect gained from this accomplishment and the effort that I gave allowed me to become a man in the eyes of my
For the past four years I have been involved in multiple different sports including grade 9 soccer, indoor soccer, track and field, varsity soccer, and cross country. Each of these activities required a serious level of commitment as well as the ability to balance each one with the others on top of maintaining a 96% average throughout high school. I take pride in the fact that I have been an active member of the cross country team, varsity soccer team, and track team for all four years of my high school career. By going to the multiple practices per week for each sport, I was able to achieve a fifth place finish at the OFSAA provincial championships for cross country as a team for two consecutive years as well as achieve an undefeated regular season during varsity soccer.
