One of the subject in my course GLS 470 is a critical and most important part. I need to write research paper with 10-15 resources and as a non – native speaker it is very tough for me to write the paper. I was not aware how to choose the topic and how to begin? In meanwhile in the process I have learned and practiced three important skills which helped me to write my research paper successfully. They are brainstorming, writing ideas and peer review and finally evaluating the ideas.
Brainstorming helps me to write the perfect research paper. We had Spontaneous group discussions in my class which helped me to get new ideas about my topic. We had a peer review every week once rough draft is prepared. This process helps me to me correct and analyze the more points required for rewriting my research paper. It is always a good habit in taking other views and ideas in any academic writing can result in reduce errors like grammar, sentence formation and increase in creating more ideas to implement in the paper.
Secondly, writing ideas is the other skill I learned in the process of writing my paper. My lecture advised me to write the ideas about the topic I choose. Then I started writing them whenever I get ideas which are may be right or wrong but, this step and skill helped me to analyses and evaluate

Once the topic is selected I started finding the relevant sources. Before writing the research paper I was not sure how to find out the resources and citing them through this paper I learned how to get the information correctly form the scholarly review and present them in the paper. Once I find the source I need to evaluate the ideas made in that article or book. This helps me to understand and evaluate the ideas made according to the author. It improve my reading skills and noting the main ideas of the author. It helps me to get ideas for my research paper and it is not useful only for now but in the future
Research types of writings at college helped me strengthen my writing skills because as I started to research on a topic, not only I learned more in depth, but also learned how to draw further connections outside of the course(class). I want to improve my writings in making correct connections and organizing ideas. Sometimes, I misunderstand the readings and end up making the wrong connections. In fact, my ideas are all over the place whenever I try to make connections, which does not clearly show that I have understood the assignment. These mistakes often led to downside of my grades. The most useful advice I received that helped me improve my writing is that “the word ‘writing’ actually means to put things together, so don’t be afraid of express your opinions in your writing your opinion.” This encourage me not to be afraid of writing and expressing my opinions.
Chapter 19 of Everyone’s An Author explains to the readers that it’s extremely important for you to do research on a topic. Research is searching for and gathering information, usually to answer a particular question or problem. Also, research begins as a kind of treasure hunt that provide you a stunning opportunity to investigate a subject that you care or wonder about. Finding a topic is one of the most important part for the process of your researching. In order to start your research effectively, you should find a topic that fascinates you, consider your rhetorical situation, and do some background research.
Once you have selected your research question, review the materials in the text that can help you get started, and then begin conducting outside research using the online library, the Internet, the Wall Street Journal websites, the Economist, and so forth. From your research, create an annotated bibliography. (An annotated bibliography includes the full reference in APA format and a paragraph explaining the value of the source to your research.) This will help you both in organizing your research, and in generating your reference page at the end of the project.
Creating a research path is a very big step in composing your paper. Talking to people who are knowledgeable on the topic is a great way to help you get started on the right track. You can also use credible online sources to help you
When writing a paper it can be very difficult unless you break it up into sections. When I had to write my first paper I felt like a man on a desert island all alone without a clue on how to do anything. But with the help of a few teachers they taught me how to survive on the island of writing papers. What the teachers taught me was that just like everything in life it needs to be taken in steps. The steps they taught me still apply to the papers I write to this day.
When I think about writing, I feel intellectually ravenous toward the subject I am given. When I am tasked with a writing assignment I figure out how I feel about the subject and what ideas I could incorporate into my writing that pertains to the subject. I find it easier to write after knowing how I feel and doing research on the topic to gain a better understanding of what I'm supposed to be writing about. After studying the subject, I organize my paper and construct the layout of the paper to see how I want my paper to flow, and what emotions are to be portrayed in my writing. This part is very important to do because I am a horrible writer without knowing beforehand how I want everything to sound and flow. After the planning process, I
I would think about what I wanted to write, but it took a very long time to develop my thoughts and then put those thoughts on paper. In our first week of WRTG 101 we covered this in Section 8.1 of Writing for Success (2013); I found that using experiences and observations or freewriting is a great way for me to begin the writing process (The Saylor Foundation). This allows me to get my ideas on the paper, which is normally one of my greatest issues. Once I have the ideas, I can begin to focus and organize my paper. Section 8.2 of Writing for Success (2013) covers how to construct an outline for a paper (The Saylor Foundation). This was particularly important for me while writing my research paper. Listing my main points in order of importance allowed me to focus on one at a time before proceeding to the next.
I find that brainstorming is one of the most important ways in which to generate the ideas, especially when dealing with a novel legal issue or with an issue on which I have a limited knowledge. This principle is one of my top ten legal writing principles because I find that free-writing helps me immensely when I approach any type of writing task. I used this principle for all of my writing assignments during the Legal Writing course by writing down any ideas that came to my mind.
Some strategies that I use when conducting research is that before researching, I would analyze the writing prompt thoroughly to understand the topic. Afterwards, I would mainly search for any documents, information, or statistics that is relevant to the topic that I am writing about. I would search via the Internet for relevant information in regards to the topic. If necessary, I would also go to the library to find any books, newspapers clippings, or other pertinent documents. Valuable resources would be any credible information that serves as evidence for the writing prompt. I would not utilize most .com websites and/or personal blogs or opinions in regards to a topic. Instead, I would use a scholarly database, such as Google Scholar, to use credible resources.
Start with identify a topic to research and question to address. Think of some general ideas or topic areas that you are interested in researching. Its a preparing for the project, defining the research problems.
I always have great ideas when writing papers. I usually make an outline and write down my plan for the essay. It is easy for me to organize my ideas, and put it in a way that readers would follow easily. I tend to focus on one topic in a paragraph and convey my message, then smoothly transition to the next topic in another paragraph. Most students spend a large amount of time researching, but it is very easy for me. I love looking for ideas that will help me write a good paper. While researching I come across some ideas that I use in the paper, other ideas are not discarded because as long as I learn something I would definitely use it in the future.
The brilliant purpose of research papers is to persuade the reader using appeals. The writer presents information about a topic while using sources to provide vital details found in their research. Whether written in a popular, informal tone or a serious, formal tone, credibility of the sources is always important. There are several steps to creating an excellent research paper. A topic page must be included, followed by the research paper itself, and the sources must be included at the end in a particular form depending on the style.
To write a good research paper, there is a need to be specific about the topic. The content in the topic must be specific, clear n short. The content should make an impact on the mind of the readers. Following are the ten steps which should be considered while writing a good research paper.
Many at times choosing an appropriate topic seem like a herculean task as a lot of problem areas may come to mind at the time of choosing the topic. What is more frustrating is being able to settle on a brilliant topic. Choosing the research topic is one of the most critical steps in conducting a successful by all standards. The truth is, the search for a good research topic is a daunting task, especially when researchers are often expected to know how to identify or figure out a good research question by themselves. It also is important for us to keep in mind that an initial topic that we come up with may not be the exact topic which we end up writing about. Research topics are often fluid and dictated more by the student's ongoing
