All schools have a break; whether, it is summer or spring break. Most people look forward to the week of spring break. Where everyone goes insane. Personally, I believe spring break is an extraordinary way to let loose and relax. My spring break was relaxing; therefore, I feel animated to return to school. During spring break you may relax, and execute activities you did not have time for. For instance, during school time my girlfriend would get enormous amounts of homework; therefore, I could not go over and spend time with her; however, during spring break her mother encouraged me to watch a movie in their home. That relaxing day liberated me of stress. As a result, I had enough relaxing time to return to school strain free. You
Summer break is supposed to be a time of rest and rejuvenation for students. After nine months of hard work and challenging classes, one would think such a long break could do nothing but good for students; however, this is not the best way for young minds to learn. A three month break is far too long for children to go without proper education and supervision. Instead of a long three month break at the end of each school year, why not give students the same number of days off but spread them out more frequently throughout the year? Year-round education is a more efficient, globally competitive, and fair alternative to the traditional nine month school year.
This is because this break can cause lost of memory of what was taught in the past. Not only that but if the school would not be year round, it can cause less learning. Which loses the whole purpose of school. Although it might be relaxing to not go to school, it makes lot of side effects that can harm someone mentally. This is because during the break, if a student forgets something that was taught to them, it might ruin their future. Which is why, having school for a longer period of time can be very valuable.
Summer vacation. For most children and teens, the phrase conjures up images of hot, sunny days and vacations with the whole family to far-off places. We all envision lazy afternoons relaxing on the beach, playing in water parks, and going on picnics. But what happens when summer ends and the reality of another year of school sinks in?
The first reason why kids should have a summer break is that it makes school less complicated. According to Jennifer Brozak, a disadvantage of having a year round school is that the school budget has to increase. They will need to have more fundraisers in order to keep the school going. If they neglect to get the amount of money they need they sometimes cancel and let the students have a summer break. In addition, teachers are having difficulty with planning lessons for students and grading papers in a short amount of time they have (Brozak). In addition, Brozak says, because of the short amount of time teachers have to grade papers they are prone to burnout. This is one of the reasons that schools should have a summer break because both teachers and students’ mental pressure because of work (Brozak). As a student, I can say that breaks will be necessary to recharge and prepare myself
Spring break is supposed to be one of the happiest times of the year: families go on vacation, students and employees can finally relax after months of hard work, and the horrible cold months are finally turning into beautiful, lively new ones. This is how most people would describe spring break, but for me and my family in April of 2010, this was not the case.
Students normally feel more refreshed after breaks and are willing to get back into learning and doing school work. Since there are many breaks in a year-round schedule, students learn more due to the fact that they receive many breaks to get refreshed. People may think the traditional schedule is better because you get a long summer break, but it is not necessarily better. Coming back to school in September after a long relaxing summer break, students tend to forget everything they learned the previous school year.
Summer breaks enable families to vacation, go to theme parks, and spend days at the beach. As Care.com states "American families have become accustomed to the traditional long summer vacation. Parents may find it difficult to schedule vacations and family reunions." Since there is less time off for kids they are goanna find it hard or more difficult to go anywhere or do anything with their kids. Lynch says, “The most obvious downside of year-round school is the effect it can have on families. Quality family time is important to the emotional and developmental well being of a child”. Schools forget children need to do something with their family’s some times and they need to see cousins and grandparents and if they do year round school schedule parents will find it nearly impossible to schedule any time with other relatives. Kids need to see their grandparents and cousins once in a while with year round schooling that will be a hard task to
In Panama City Beach, Florida, drinking on the beach during Spring Break is illegal, but that is only one month out of the year. Panama City Beach is a tourist town and it relies on people coming from all over the world to visit. The busiest months are during Spring Break and when summer vacation starts. Right now, the law only states drinking any kind of alcohol on the beach during March is illegal and bars that are on the beach front must close at 2 am. The law should be changed to include drinking on the beach during the summer months illegal. If drinking on the beach during Spring Break and the summer months was made illegal fewer people would end up dying while vacationing, less sexual assaults, it will cut down on underage drinking, and the crime rate.
There are numerous reasons for teachers to take a break from teaching in the summer months. “Summers off has long been the light at the end of the tunnel for teachers, particularly in urban areas with higher discipline problems and overcrowded classrooms” (Lynch). This was stated regarding the traditional school system. In a year-round setting however, the lengthy breaks are replaced with shorter and frequent breaks. Though the loss of those summer months may at first seem like a downside, many teachers end up liking more time off. Teachers simply need the summer time break to “recharge their batteries” from a busy, overwhelming, and time consuming year. An unmotivated, drained teacher has a direct negative effect on the young students in his or her classroom.
Many schools take the week off for students to repose which is called Spring Break. I really like spring break because it lets me take time off from school, and it lets me catch up with sports.
Students need time to relax and de-stress. With the accumulation of homework, projects, assignments, tests and quizzes, students are constantly working and have no time to relax. This can be overwhelming, but students still put in the effort just to make it through the year because they know they can rest in the summer. Furthermore, this could cause students to become unmotivated because they will think that they are trapped in a prison in which they are boundlessly doing work and will never meet their own goals. A longer vacation will allow us to clear our minds and open them to new possibilities that would not be possible if we were to follow the same routine every day. Likewise, it is not only the students that need this vacation, but it is also the staff and faculty as well who would definitely rather see their family and friends instead of the students for a whole year. Most of these families go on holidays, but sometimes
You additionally, get more breaks when you have year round schools, and you get 15 day breaks every 45 days. That's favorable, because you will always have something to look forward too.You will also get to keep the weekends too!The article also states that planning in the summer break is one of the most stressful times for parents. Due to having to find a time in between work to go to a vacation. Especially in the summer because that’s when everybody else is looking for vacations too!
Spring break is supposed to be a great time from the second it begins, until the second it ends. Now there is always that boring time it takes to get to wherever you may be going no matter how far that may be it is always the least fun of the entire vacation. My last spring break’s car ride happened to be the least fun by far of any trip I have taken up to this point in my life.
Finding ways to enjoy your summer while having depression and anxiety is hard. Everyday I wake up tired and unmotivated to do anything, on a good day I get out of my bed at 11:30 a.m. and spend the rest of my time doing nothing while I sit alone in my house. As hard as it is to believe, summer break is stressful to me because I can literally feel time slipping through my fingers and I know it’s my fault that this is happening. So, I have decided to try and find a way to make the most of my days left. It’s undeniably going to be hard, but progress isn’t made by doing nothing, so my only option is to do something.
The break calls for staying up late and waking up whenever you want to. Everyone works so hard during the school year, so they deserve that free time. Summer times are stress free, relaxing, and basically fun. You don’t have to worry about homework, projects, and studying for a test. One of my favorite summer pastimes is staying up late watching movies and eating junk food, and then waking up late and having brunch.
