Most people will probably say something about freedom and rights because that’s what America is known for. There are so many gifts America has gave in my generations. In America, we can vote for our leaders. People in North Korea have to deal with their cruel leader, Kim Jung-un. When dealing with suspects of a crime in America, suspects have a chance to prove their innocence before being assume guilty. In China, suspects are guilty until proven to be innocent.

When I think of America, I imagine of a masterpiece. When America was first discovered by Christopher Columbus, it was a blank canvas with native American details on the rim. These details represent how the Native Americans have affected America. Since then, every triumph, failure, rise, and fall that America has had, another part was added. And though this painting was once a blank canvas, it is now a wonderful painting with landmarks from near and wide, full of every color, and includes everything important to modern America.
America has many ideas, people, and values to which it can attribute its greatness. Every single person that has ever been born in this great country has impacted the United States in countless ways. Anyone who is fortunate enough to live the life that Americans get to live, are given the chance to create, change, or continue the legacy of America.

America is known as the land of opportunity. Being an American means that one has the freedom to choose the way he or she wants to live. They have the option to be a contribution to society or not. America, It’s what some call the Jewel of the world. The land of the free and the home of the brave, but Sometimes, as humans, we forget the sacrifice that was made to make it this way. Think about how our founding fathers that came together to free the colonies from The English forces. Think of the Men and women that fight this very day, this very hour, to keep this country free, protected, and growing.
The most important and also the most defining is freedom. Americans are free in both mind and body; able to think freely and, for the most part, act accordingly. To me, America is like twins. With my twin her success is my success, and her mistakes are my mistakes. The same thing is true with America. We share in the glory of our Olympic athletes and share in the mourning of a fallen soldier. Americans all share a special bond. The bond of being an American and having the rights and freedoms that our founders secured for us. Like twins, the America that I believe in is a shared one. One where we all share equal rights and opportunities. America is about having dreams and working toward achieving them.
Look around you, tell me what you see. Buildings, cars, cubicles, desks, people? What you’re seeing, that is America. The land of the free and the home of the brave. The place that I believe in, the place that you believe in. America may have its flaws, but that is what we love. These flaws make America different, they make America, America.
America, the land of the home, the free, and the brave. America and its opportunities. America’s gift to my generation are education, and our freedom to do what we want, say what we want, and to be whoever we want.
