I conducted the field observation in a restaurant named Sakura Izakaya on 30 July, 2015. It is a Japanese ethnic restaurant. Sakura Izakaya is located near an office building. A shopping center is also within a walk distance of the restaurant. Seen from the outside, the restaurant is modern with large windows and glass doors. When I walk in, I find the restaurant is comfortable and looks traditional. The wooden floor is clean. A waitress welcomes me at the door with Japanese. The first sight in the restaurant is a bar. The shelves are full of cups, Japanese wine, and some containers with condiments. The bar, tables, and chairs are made of wood. The tables in the public dining area are of different size, including tables for two people, tables for four, as well as …show more content…
After I seat myself, the waitress serves me a cup of water and presents me a menu. Everything on the menu is written in English. Each item on the menu has a picture and its main ingredients. I notice that some Japanese diners are looking at a menu which is written in Japanese. I guess that there are two editions of the menu. This is considerate. Main dishes on the menu include sushi, tempura, udon, and sashimi, as well as seafood and soup. Drinks include famous Japanese Sake and Shochu, wine, cocktail, and some non-alcoholic drink. I order Sashimi, salad, and vegetable Tempura with rice and mushroom miso soup. When I am waiting for my dishes, I notice that most of the waiters are young girls, but there are also some male waiters. The chefs are male Japanese. The service there is good and efficient. Waiters serve diners with smiles and often refill the cups for diners. Although it is during the rush hour, they serve quickly. My dishes are presented after about 10 minutes. The dishes look nice with bright colors and delicate layout. The tempura is crisp and delicious but not greasy. The Sashimi is fresh and

My most favorite of all time restaurants to dine at is The Cheesecake Factory. This restaurant is a famous corporate chain of restaurants that offers a widespread variety of all types of American dishes and of course specializes in the most amazing variety of the best tasting cheesecakes. I love the experience of dining at the Cheesecake factory because the atmosphere is so welcoming and the artwork on the ceilings make you feel very lavish, the food is great and the service is excellent. A particular visit last month proved to me that Cheesecake factory lives up to the expectations of its guests.

Over the past few years, commercial spaces have become areas for multifunction activities. Along with the availability of gourmet coffee, food, ample seating, and free WIFI bookstore cafes have welcomed a clientele that blends leisure, social and work related activities. In this context, a local popular Barnes and Noble bookstore cafe served as the perfect environment to perform a field observation for this assignment and to explore customer behaviors and reasons for patronizing this particular establishment.
Shannon's Saloon & Restaurant was established in 1982 originally as a bar with a modestly sized kitchen, but after two expansions, including a third dining area, it has become a local favorite for both lunch and dinner. A popular lunch option is the Shannon's burger - a huge 1/2 pound certified Angus beef fresh-made patty that is cooked to order and served with fries.

This experiment observed students and their activities in a food court. During the observations there were many groups of students not eating lunch just sitting around and talking. Several students were studying or engaging in other activities on their laptops mainly Youtube (the video sharing platform). One group stayed there for the duration of the observations discussing back and forth about their day. Many students would enter the food court, pick up food, and then proceed to sit down. Upon sitting down am majority of the students would pull out some form of entertainment such as a book, their ot cell phone, and engage with it. This engagement, a statistically significant number of times, would detract from the main purpose of the area
Well I am in the Army, and I am the Administrative supervisor for the dining facility, and we use statistics to help us track several things. The dining facility I work in feeds Soldiers and civilians, contractors and Department of Defense employees. The groups of personnel listed above must be tracked and managed separately so we can determine how often each group dine in and how frequently. Statistics gives us the tools to create charts and graphs that enable my Soldiers to track and monitor how often each group eats in our facility and how frequently (Mirabella, 2011). Statistics allows us to keep a realistic track record of diners in our facility. By having accurate information on the number of patrons dining at our establishment on
I had an experience at a restaurant where the bartender kept saying jokes about bodily functions and making us all really uncomfortable. He even called me a "dummy" for dropping my coaster after it was stuck to the bottom of my glass. After him disappearing for our entire meal, he came back and said sorry he was not there for our dinner, he had to "double wipe". He then proceeded to tell us he did a great job and asked if we would like a comment card. I contacted a manager later that night and told her how uncomfortable our entire evening was because of the employee. The manager seemed embarrassed and promised we would be compensated. About a week later, the bar manager sent my husband a message on Facebook messenger at 3am "apologizing" and
I decided to conduct my field observation in the great state of Louisiana. I had a business trip to the party capital of the world, New Orleans. The bar scene was the perfect setting to observe a diverse group of people for a long period of time without bringing attention or suspicion to myself.

What are factors influence to customer purchase behavioral? How is good management system impact to employee performance delivery high quality service?
Once I stepped inside the restaurant I automatically could hear the music playing at a moderate level and the laughter of the customers. Right off the back the restaurant's ambiance had a positive vibe. Mindful, it was a Saturday late afternoon. Mary Jane Burger and Brew is a local restaurant trying to stay true to its past. The granddaughter of the original owner now runs the place with the intention of serving good quality food where the ingredients are fresh, mouth watering, and surely not filled with antibiotics and all that other genetically modified elements found in processed foods. The vintage, rustic looking place, holds a small town atmosphere with a big taste.
In another Japanese restaurant name is EDOYA case, there were too many people already in there (over 100 people) when I arrived at the restaurant. Approximately 20 people were waiting in the restaurant. I chose the dinning however I did not wait. I thought why are there too many people waiting? It is that people waiting for the Teppan-yaki because there was the Teppan-yaki in the EDOYA. Teppan-yaki means that sliced meat and vegetables grilled on a hot plate at the table. Therefore, there were too many people waiting. There are approximately 20 people waiting, approximately 8 people in sushi bar, approximately 15 people in dinning and about 100 people in Teppan-yaki already. When I observing the race, it was about 85 percent were American, 10 percent were Asian (I think Korean and Chinese. I can distinguish which country of Asian because almost same face Asian people however fashion is very different each Asian) and about 5
This day and age, many people eat out because they are on the go all the time. Between jobs, kids, and other responsibilities, it is difficult to make time to prepare healthy meals. For this very reason, people tend to get take-out food an awful lot. This is not only very expensive, but it can also do a number on your health. Take-out isn’t the healthiest food option, because many of the restaurants use fattening oils, additives, preservatives, and other unhealthy options in their food selections.
