Where there are feuds, there is hate. Where there is hate, there is also love. You must love something so passionately to hate another, or perhaps there is no hate to be found at all. Perhaps there is a forbidden love story in the kindling, rising from the ashes of the bridges each side burns. They all say forbidden love is the best kind of love because maybe that love should not have been forbidden in the first place. There are those out there that believe parents should be able to prevent their children from dating certain people. I would rather believe parents can not have a say in who their children date. Romeo and Juliet is a well known play written by William Shakespeare. It brings the readers a story of forbidden love between the …show more content…
However, many sources, including the film, Frontline: Inside the Teenage Brain, highlights the fact that by age six, adolescents’ brains are ninety to ninety-five percent developed. Of course, some will argue back saying it is the frontal cortex that is still growing. According to the article, “The Teenage Brain”, written by Amanda Leigh Mascarelli, the prefrontal system in teens simply allows them to begin making decisions on their own. There was a test taken through a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine using both adolescent and adult subjects. The scientists displayed a game on the screen within the MRI and had the subjects play it. The results showed that the teens chose the paths that resulted in reward the most. This finding shows that all these things people believe are risks that teens are taking, are most likely going to end up rewarding teens in one way or another because that is what their brains are drawn to. Therefore, if parents are trying to protect their kids from dating the wrong people, they probably have nothing to worry about because their children have the ability to make the right decisions on their own. Perhaps forbidden love really does not have to be forbidden after all. Parents should not prevent their children from dating certain people. Romeo and Juliet are the exception, not the rule. My mom knows that teens learn best from their own experiences. It is just a matter of allowing
Romeo and Juliet is a beautiful story by William Shakespeare in which the reader observes the bold and rash character of Romeo. He falls in love at the first sight with his wife, Juliet. Their families have been feuding for generations; therefore, they make a plan to run away and live a life of joy. However, this plan falls through and many are killed throughout this dangerous journey including both lives of the lovers. Because he does not think before acting, Romeo is brought into dangerous and avoidable situations. His biggest flaw of being rash and rushing things affects himself and the people around him physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Aristotle proposed what is believed to be the first definition of a true tragedy. Specifically, he states that a tragedy triggers great pity and fear caused by the main characters’ actions alone. Likewise, a true tragedy lacks coincidence and fate plays little in the overall play. William Shakespeare writes the play of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet in which the audience knows the destiny of these two tragic heroes from the very beginning. Although this play is tragic knowing that the lives of two lovers are lost, it is not a tragedy as Romeo and Juliet are not solely responsible for their own deaths. Destiny is determined through the hands of greater forces than that of Romeo and Juliet, making this play merely tragic and not a true
“An intense feeling of deep attraction.” That is the definition of love. Love between a man and a dog, a kid and ice-cream, a mother and her family, and love between two selfless people. This is true love. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, the feeling of attraction between the two main characters is not true love. The setting of this play is the streets of Verona, Italy, during a time when arranged marriages at the age of 14 were socially acceptable. Two young teens, Romeo and Juliet, were convinced that they had feelings for each other, but acted more out of lust than anything else. Lust is defined as “a very strong sexual desire”, and it becomes more apparent as the
Romeo and Juliet was a classic romance novel about passion, love and tragedy, written and first acted in 1595. According to Alan Durband, many versions of Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet all relate to Shakespeare's understanding of early life in Verona. Romeo, a Montague, falls in love with Juliet, a Capulet, because he is romantically inclined. The Capulets and Montagues are feuding households His impulsivity caused a lot of people to die and experience emotional pain. Falling in love with Juliet was the event that started a chain reaction.

Teen pregnancy is is very tough because many teens are not mentally ready to be a parents. According to nlm.nih.gov, ‘’Most teenage girls [do not] plan to get pregnant, but many do.’’ (teen pregnancy 1) In the case of Romeo and Juliet, there would be many dissents and problems because Juliet is only thirteen and Romeo and Juliet’s parents hate each other. Teen love is not only not mentally auspicious, but is also physically harmful because there is many health risks. Also on nlm.nih.gov it says,’’ Teen pregnancies carry extra health risks to both the mother and the baby.’’(teen pregnancy 1) These risks can hurt both the baby and the mother. If Romeo and Juliet’s love were to continued it probably would have lead to teen pregnancy. This is so because Juliet’s nurse once told her to throw away her virginity. (Act 1. Scene 3.) Teen pregnancy is a reason teen love causes rigor and is
1. In this Scene, the nurse is shown to have a really close bond with Juliet. She seems to have a better relation than her mother. The nurse lost her daughter “Susan”(1.3 Line 20) as she was the same “age”(1.1 Line 21) as Juliet, which makes the nurse closer to Juliet and treats her as a daughter.
In the Shakespearean play “Romeo and Juliet”, the parents of adolescent children often made choices for their children such as where they were to be at a certain time and how they were to dress for a certain party. One of the most unusual decisions made for the children, according to our time, was the decision of courting and marriage. Parents would choose who the child was to marry and when the wedding would be. Many people of the present day in age believe that children should be able to choose whoever they want to be with for the rest of their lives. Other parents try to shelter their children from the world and restrict them from dating certain people. Due to recent brain studies, real life examples, and examples from “Romeo and Juliet”, parents should be able to exclude certain people from dating their child.

Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. The play is about two young lovers who commit suicide in despair. Although the play discusses serious and sensitive topics, I believe Romeo and Juliet should be taught to high school students because Shakespeare was one of the most influential playwrights of all time. The play also provides priceless skills and knowledge, and increases students skill in understanding text based on context clues.
Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, is a tragic play about the lives of two teenagers. Romeo and Juliet meet, speak, fall in love and quickly decide to marry. The marriage remains a secret because there families are locked in a feud. As the play progresses Romeo and Juliet as well as the other characters keep secrets that impact others. These lies, which are often actions made in rashness, carry terrible consequences.
Love is defined as the intense feeling of deep affection. In the play, Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare, the attraction between the two protagonists, Romeo and Juliet, does not factually classify as true love. Meanwhile, lust is a concept in which is commonly mistaken for love, which is very apparent throughout this classic “love story” of Romeo and Juliet. While others could debate that Romeo and Juliet’s love, was love at first sight, it is debateable that their feelings towards one another were pure lust. Romeo and Juliet are too immature to fully understand the concept of love as they are too young and hormone-driven, they were both in search for escapism from their present troubles, and they had an excessive amount of
Don’t you hate it when something doesn’t turn out the way you wanted it to? When you care so deeply about something and sacrifice so much just so that it can happen, but despite it all, ends in ruins. This is the theme of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. In this tragic tale, two fated lovers risk everything, even life itself, to be with one another. They go against family, friends and fate to be together. Had premonitions in the play been taken more seriously by key characters, tragedy could have been avoided.
For this anthology about love I have chosen, and mainly centred around the topic of love that is forbidden. With this type of love, comes many struggles and questions that I’m sure must go through the minds of people in this situation. This is what happens with Romeo and Juliet in the Play written by William Shakespeare in 1591. It will be a romance that will strongly challenge them, but as we see it will not break the bond of love they have for each other. In this task I will try to describe the pain, happiness, frustration, forgiveness, anger, and joy through a collection of shorts texts that come with the topic of persecuted, and forbidden love.
Many parents believe that it is their duty to control the lives of their teens. Others may give teens more freedoms, which gives them more decisions to make, such as who they want to date. The play Romeo and Juliet is a fabulous example of this. Many real-life examples also prove that parents should mentor their teen and keep a close eye on what the teen is up to. Brain research also shows that teens need some guidance. Some people may believe that parents shouldn’t be able to prevent their teen from dating certain people, but I believe that under many circumstances parents should prevent teens from dating certain people.
