Yes, That is the same prenatal patient. I just have one more request about this account. Could you please add some note on V#10922800 saying that the patient BCBS was only active for January 2015 .On that way if the patient call later to ask about her bill we can let the patient know the reason why she is responsable for the balance.
If the prenatal don't complete her payments for the prenatal care visits receive. We need to bill the patient the final
The prenatal period is when quick changes in the fetal organs are vulnerable to organizing change and stability but also building internal working system to trigger emotional responses (McEwen et al. 2013). It is a critical time for brain development and the PFC (McEwen et al. 2013). It exposes a selection of long -term modifications on brain development and behaviour (Entringer et al. 2009). Prenatal exposure to stress affects hormones in the body including the physiology and anatomy that relate to increasing drug levels, cortical communication and more (Entringer et al. 2009). Fetal stress is any event that interrupts a fetal process in stability in the body. (Entringer et al. 2009). During pregnancy, maternal stress impends the fetal nervous system and shortens the length of maturation due to many issues and concerns affecting the mother (Entringer et al. 2009). During pregnancy, maternal psychosocial stress threatens the fetal nervous system and contracts the length of gestation (Entringer et al. 2009). High levels of placental corticotrophin- releasing hormone
The advancement of medical technology has made it possible to detect medical abnormalities while a child is still a fetus and can create difficult choices for parents to make if severe anomalies are discovered. There are many theories regarding the moral status of the fetus that can be applied when deciding how to proceed if these abnormalities are detected. In the fetal abnormality case study, Jessica, Marco, Maria, and Dr. Wilson each have varying opinions on what course of action to take based on these different theories of moral status.
There are many expecting mothers in our society that are very unware of what steps to take to ensure that they maintain a healthy environment for the developing fetus. In the case of Tano and Lonita, they are a couple of struggling immigrants who are working hard to get by. Unfortunately for them are some resources that are not made available to them due to socioeconomic status. However, there are many steps they can talk in order to eliminate the risks of a low birth weight, or preterm labor. One step would be to attend a comprehensive prenatal care program that are known to improve birth outcomes in situations such as Lonita’s. Another way would be for Tano to become more involved with Lonita and keep a strong bonded and caring relationship between them. The last solution would be to apply for government aid programs to improve financial situations.
A big problem that is becoming of lawsuits is Wrongful Birth Cases. Wrongful birth by legal definition is a term to describe medical malpractice. A claim that the child would not have been born if medical malpractice did not occur (Knudsen, 2011). The legal definition of medical malpractice is also known as medical negligence, this is a professional negligence by act or omission by a health care provider which the treatment provided falls below the accepted standards of practice in the medical community and causes injury or death to the patient (Dictionary.com). In most cases, this is medical error. There is now 28 states that recognized wrongful birth claims. There is also 12 states that prohibit wrongful birth claims, including, Idaho,
As it was previously mentioned, nurses will be the leading members of this project. Administrative tasks such as hiring, budgeting, recording inventory, developing partnerships, and evaluating quality and performance, will be carried by the nurse manager. Delivery of prenatal care will be mainly performed by a team of CNMs and RNs. One CNM will be the primary care provider in charge of the complex cases presenting in the Prenatal Care Mobile. The scope of practice of the CNM allows patients to receive medical diagnoses and prescriptions that otherwise, could not be provided by a RN. A couple of RNs will be delivering most of the care for the uncomplicated patients, while also performing comprehensive assessments, screening or diagnostic tests,
The patient I took care of was a 30-35 year old female who was one-day postpartum. The patient’s prenatal care prior to the recent few weeks before delivery took place at Barrington Health Center; she then transferred care to Community South. She reported having an allergy to Benedryl, and a GTPAL score of Gravidity 5, Term 4, Abortion 1, and Living 4. The patient’s gestational age was 39 weeks. The patient stated she sought care “regularly” at Barrington Health and did not report specifically how often. Her health information from Barrington Health Center did not transfer over in the patient’s chart, thus, it is unknown exactly how often she sought prenatal care. Once she transferred care to Community South Hospital four weeks prior to
. Rapid development of medicine in the 20th century couldn’t shy away from this side of medicine. New ideas about physiological and pathophysiological processes of productive (genital) system of a man, contemporary approaches towards diagnostics, appearance of new diseases, change of therapeutic methods and preventive measures to avoid pregnancy, appearance of assisted reproductive technologies and prenatal diagnosis lead not only to creation of new specializations in obstetrics and gynecology, but also to appearance of new moral and ethical issues in medical practice. The development of prenatal diagnosis has led to the appearance of new medical indications for the artificial termination of pregnancy.
According to Shi and Singh (2012), in the United States, working people earning low wages are the most disenfranchised because most are not eligible for public benefits and cannot afford premium cost sharing. (p. 7) The purpose of this phenomenological study is to understand how mother’s experiences shape their perspectives when seeking prenatal care, medical and social services. Previous studies demonstrate that the lack of health care insurance leads to numerous unmet health care needs such as delaying medical care and having a health problem and not seeking medical care. (Collins, Doty, Robertson & Garber, 2011)
1. In what ways was caring for Baby like caring for a real infant? Taking care of Baby is similar to taking care of a real infant because it had the same needs (burping, feeding, and changing).
Mary is a 28yo, G1 P0, who was seen for a follow-up ultrasound assessment for fetal viability. As you know, her pregnancy is complicated by a fetus with multiple anomalies including heterotaxy, an AVSD, fibroelastosis of the ventricle musculature, complete heart block, and hydrops. On today’s evaluation overall, the patient has no obstetrical complaints and still does have positive fetal movement. On arrival her BP was 134/90 and her urine was trace protein. Recheck of her BP about 5 minutes later was 130/88. She has gained 5 lb in the past 2 weeks but denies headaches, blurred vision, or any signs of preeclampsia. We did obtain lab work today and will forward these to your office upon return.
In the case study, “Fetal Abnormality” provided by Grand Canyon University (GCU) (n.d.) the four characters exhibit differing influences and worldview theories. The first character is a 30-year old immigrant named Jessica who is exhibiting signs of multiple worldviews (Modern western, Christian, and Materialistic worldview). In the case study, Jessica actions point to a modern western worldview because the influence of dualism is in play. History has shown that dualistic thinking has put a hard line between spirit and matter (Shelly & Miller, 2006). Jessica is torn between two dividing options that she is having a hard time choosing from. On the one hand, her Christian worldview is pulling her to one side with the belief that life is
Imagine a mother was pregnant with her first child, but was living in Love Canal, New York. Her life just could not seem to be better, she had an amazing husband and was about to have her first baby. The child was born with a cleft lip, extra fingers and toes, and mental retardation. That mother would probably still love that baby unconditionally, but how would she feel knowing that her baby’s whole life has been drastically changed and she did not know why. Later in the child’s life the mother finds out that her child will always have physical and mental limitations because of Hooker Chemical Company. This is what was happening, to not just one, but many families who lived in Love Canal, New York. The whole town, adults and children of all
