The two ways that enhanced my experience of taking this class are learning to get all the facts of whatever topic researching, and to develop meaningful relationships with your instructor and colleagues. These factors are essential in matriculating through the doctoral program. As you know, no one makes it alone, so developing professional relationships will not only allow you to get to know others, but for them to get to know you and your potential as a professional. These relationships will become important when you start organizing your committee to do your dissertation. Additionally, you can develop relationships with your colleagues, so that you all can build a support team, and share best practices that can help you get through
Also working in a team give people the chance to be supportive with each other and help one another.
Mutual cooperation and equal loads of work among colleagues can help improve partnership working as well.
Switching from the expensive oil to alternative fuels has moved from a dream to reality. Today, there are dozens of alternatives to oil that are currently available us to be used. One alternative to oil that is being used more today is ethanol. Derived from plant materials, ethanol can be a cheaper, cleaner alternative to the gasoline that our vehicles run off. When going to gas pumps, one will notice that much of the gasoline is up to 10 percent of ethanol. According to our text, most ethanol in the U.S. is made from corn, yet ethanol can be made from any biomes-- including garbage. (Turk & Bensel, 2011)
Drafting a final paper allows you to put together all the research you have conducted into one form and analyze it. Until I took this class, I honestly did not know half of the element involved in a proper research paper. I only knew the very basic components and not the fine details. I have learned that the fine details are the most important. Those details are what separates your paper from good to being great.
When I first heard that this assignment would require for is to log the meals that you consumed during a two day period I thought that may I should push it to two weeks. The reasons why I choose two weeks is because it would force me to become more dedicated to the task at hand forcing me to track a week's worth of meals. I would then during the second week force myself to eat from all of the required food groups/ eat the recommend intake and keep track of the proper of all of for a week.
Week 13’s readings and conversations with my peers challenged my thinking about sexual minority students. I think what challenged me the most was how unaware I was of any sexual minority students at my school. It was not until after this discussion bored I found that there is a set of parents at my school who are Queer. I was honestly just mad at myself for not taking the time to better understand the families represented at my school. Just because I am not Queer does not mean it does not exist around me.
I Miressa brown, was absent from EDUC 7703 social, cultural, and ethical perspectives on June 25, 2015. A few years back my dad was diagnosed with 100% kidney failure. So the morning before class he informed me and my family that he has been urinating blood and was told by the VA hospital that he can't been seen until June, 25. So we make the trip to Augusta and have tons of test done. We were told that they would be getting in touch with us. A week goes by, and we still didn’t hear anything, finally we get a call saying that all the tests were negative and that they really didn’t know what was causing it. Being the responsible person that I am, I informed my job and professors of the issue to determine what I should do about missing that day. On This week in class the focus was gender.
Personally I thought this chapter was a headache. I constantly had to read a page and then reread it. A lot of this information I have head from previous psychology classes, but just reading it was harder to understand rather than having an instructor teach it. I pretty much highlighted the whole book because I thought it was all-important.
Week 4 Reflection what you learned this week. This week I learned about estimating a population and hypothesis testing. What are the areas where you did well?
I feel that this semester of WRIT 300 has taught me a lot the writing process and the different learning outcomes for the WRIT 300 course. This semester I thought was going to be very difficult because of this class, since I feel that writing is my weak point. I feel like I would have rate myself for the beginning of the course on how well I feel about writing on a scale of one to ten. I would give myself in the beginning of the semester a five. Therefore, I will be describing how I have done on each learning out come and how I have improved from the beginning to the end.
During my research, I learned multiple new concepts and tools that will help me with future papers. The part of the paper that I think helped me the most was the Story of My Search part because it helped me keep track of what I had already searched. Because I had what steps I did written down, it helped me focus my search and narrow my results to what I was really looking for. I also learned more about EBSCO than I previously had known. I had used EBSCO only one other time, which was in my dual-credit speech class. When I had used it previously, I didn’t get to know the different tools, including the export and cite options. Also during my research, I found out that a lot of work goes into a research paper and that it may take a long time to
I cannot believe we are already ending Week 3! This course is flying by, and the knowledge I am learning is a lot from what I stepped into the course knowing. Before this week I was not aware of the amount of people without access to the internet. This stuck out a lot to me that something like the internet which is often taken for granted is limited in some countries. I get frustrated when it’s moving slow or not giving me the answer I was looking for, while some people have never had the luxury of using it. A statistic that shocked me was from the article, A Cell Phone Surge Among World’s Poor where it states “less than one percent of the people in Haiti have access to a landline.” That is something as simple as a house phone that they don’t
Being a part of APU & ISL Global Leadership Workshop with students from different countries would help me increase better understanding about cultural diversity, enhance cultural competency as well as making more connection . Additionally, participating in discussion with Japanese companies allow me to have a deeper view in Japanese management system as I have intention to work in Japan after graduate. In general, this workshop is a great chance to gain more skills and experience.
I took CLEI 150A this quarter mainly to fulfill minor requirement. This class introduced to us some concepts on energy, water resources, food production, and soil, etc. We had several challenging homework exercises. We had finished part of our projects. Overall, the class gave students a chance to practice what we have learnt based on real life problems. This is the part I found interesting and valuable because I could calculate and analyze those problems. My groupmates and I had to do research and made assumptions on subjects we don’t know much. Lack of knowledge and experience was indeed a problem but also an opportunity. Everyone was willing to learn. In fact, there are many aspects of sustainability in this class we won’t learn about
It increases psychological well-being and reduces work-related stress through work discussion in the group (Appendix-1). Also, ease the feeling of isolation due to coaching/mentoring deliver support and encouragement so that a practi-tioner has someone to rely on and turn to trust which grows closer relationships (Appendix-1 and Appendix-3).
