During my research, I learned multiple new concepts and tools that will help me with future papers. The part of the paper that I think helped me the most was the Story of My Search part because it helped me keep track of what I had already searched. Because I had what steps I did written down, it helped me focus my search and narrow my results to what I was really looking for. I also learned more about EBSCO than I previously had known. I had used EBSCO only one other time, which was in my dual-credit speech class. When I had used it previously, I didn’t get to know the different tools, including the export and cite options. Also during my research, I found out that a lot of work goes into a research paper and that it may take a long time to

This week I learned that when someone comes in looking for assistance you call the hotline specialist, or the outreach case manager and they will send someone down as soon as they can. If the person looking for assistance does not want to wait I should give them a card with the crisis hotline number on it.
During week one meet with staff and providers to discuss the research that supports my change project. Also, randomly talking with patients to get their input and what they feel would meet their learning needs. Meeting with the stakeholders from my clinic. Reaching out to the IT department and meeting with the finance department.
This learning experience is designed for a year 1 class (middle of the year) with diverse learning needs. The lessons take into account Gardner’s multiple intelligences theory and caters for EAL/D, students who are ready to move beyond the lesson and students who are not ready to move beyond the lesson. The activities seen in the three lessons may be modified to suit the needs of individual students (refer to catering for diversity).
I inferred from the data that my topic is one that nobody in the audience knew anything
As I worked as a behavior therapist my job was to implement programs created by my supervisors for the participants. I did not have many chances to assess the children I worked with before working with them as it had already been done. However, I have had many opportunities throughout the program to practice the techniques it takes to understand the underlying reasons for specific behaviors that are in need of change. I have also had the chance to practice using ABC (Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence) recording forms to identify the function of tantrum behavior.
This week has been a lot of “hurry up and wait.” I spent the first few days waiting to hear back from both Paul Vasington (regarding the 5G memo) and Kathy Farroba (regarding the local net neutrality activity). I spoke to Paul on Thursday; he suggested that I follow Nick Fetchko’s advice and look into broader telecom infrastructure policy since there is little to no 5G policy in most of the localities I looked into. There is no hard deadline on this, so I plan to start next week. Kathy still has not responded to my email from last week.
During this week, I have learned a lot from reading my classmate’s primary task responses. I the discussion that I have read, I learned some of the high risk area in the hotel of loss through theft and the security controls that are used to ensure the occurrences. In my future business I will check my entire employee’s background for felony or anything that shows if that employee haven been in any trouble before hiring, so their want surprises me. My entire employee’s will be treated fairly and with respect even if their record is clean or not. However, I will have security team keep watch on the surveillance to customer items and information succored. All the knowledge that I gain in this week will be useful for my future business to become
Looking back at past research papers of mine I got to observe the kind of researcher I am and how I interpret the research and work it into my papers. Then reading other text I was able to relate my research skills to others and I also gained different ideas on what kind of researcher I want to be in the future. I looked back again at the old research papers of mine and came up with some ways I would of liked to research/use my the things I came up with via research in the papers. There are pieces of “Learning the Ropes: How Freshman Conduct Courses Research Once They Enter College” that I can relate very closely to. Another article, “Disciplinary Cultures and General Education, Essays on Teaching Excellence” I was able to connect to my research and writing.
The 1st semester was full of challenges as a full-time student here at Mohawk College, but I am thankful that it is over. Now, I am grateful that I will be starting my 2nd semester as a Practical Nursing and is determine to succeed.
I have successfully completed all of the requirements of the student internship program for COSC 494 – Fall 2015.
At first I did not think I would enjoy this week’s reading because it began with politics, which isn’t something I enjoy reading about, but as I continued the reading they were talking more about standardized testing and unfair questioning. This was really interesting to me because I like learning more about standardized testing and the questions that are on those tests. I was surprised when they talked about the type A parents who were having their children spend all of their free time studying for the ACT/SAT. I was interested in the part where authors stated SAT scores have a correlation with college GPA and I am wondering what that correlation is. I know some research shows that it is not a good predictor of how a student will do in college,
