A person with a strong sense of self esteem will have a more positive outlook on life and will be strong enough to handle difficult situations through life.

Bx Describe two attitudes or approaches which could promote the well being of an individual using the service.

* By remaining positive and encouraging the individual to make choices, for example what to wear, where to shop, what to eat and making other decisions through the day

* By being an active listener and talking through any up coming plans or changes to their routine, to reassure and promote positive outcome

Bxi Identify two ways of making sure an individual's physical environment promotes their well being.

* The individuals physical environment could be their home or a residential setting so we have to ensure they are comfortable in their surroundings, so the temperature, light and seating should be considered. Having the possessions and pictures they like around them and removing any equipment should make them feel more settled

* Health and safety also plays an important part because they have to feel safe and secure in their home environment. Safety checks should be made with regard to fire hazards and door and window security should be part of every visit
