I completed my senior project at the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA). Through the course of the project I learned about the engineering division’s responsibilities within RTA and received the full picture of how a large construction project is built from beginning to end. I greatly benefited from this experience as it has increased my interest in the engineering field. The main objective of this project was to experience what a career in civil engineering would resemble. In order to achieve my goal of becoming familiar with the project development process and funding sources, I attended project meetings, visited active construction sites, and became familiar with engineering plans and drawings (both civil and architectural). In addition, I learned about project scheduling, oversight, and maintenance. I …show more content…
Positively, my experiences have assured me that the engineering field is one I want to pursue, regardless of what specific type I choose. Additionally, I was exposed to the diverse opportunities within civil engineering, including transit engineering, bridge engineering, environmental engineering, roadway design, and construction management. I appreciated the variety of paths and options that are available to follow in the future. For instance, I also shadowed a bridge engineer at RTA and was able to ride in a lift up to the viaduct bridge to observe maintenance occurring and learn about the inspection process. Notably, another experience I enjoyed was touring the rail shop. The behind the scenes look of how the trains run and the intricate electric systems that control the railway was intriguing. Conversely, the one negative I experienced in working within the public sector was the lack of funding and thus the extensive time required for projects to begin
Another job is what the engineers do in terms of building and manufacturing. Engineers are undertaking signifincant roles in designing and constructing
This was the motivating factor in my decision to pursue civil engineering in one of the premier universities of my country, namely Gitam University. As I started my coursework and explored the world of Civil Engineering, I surprisingly found it to be much more challenging and understood that it requires a multidimensional approach.
I have worked in various social care settings for over 5 years from which I gained a broad knowledge in providing professional support to service users to enable and promote independent living and fulfilment. I am a conscientious worker and a credible team player with high degree of flexibility towards performance of my work. In the course of seeking both personal and professional development I have pursued and achieved several trainings and qualifications which include NVQ level 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care and level 3 in Health and Safety to facilitate my aspired role as a senior community support worker.
The object of this course and this project is to provide you with a realistic situation that you are likely to face in the real world business environment. You'll be working with limited information, limited support from your client, within a limited time frame - and yet, you have to get up to speed in a new area quickly, and make informed professional recommendations based on your research and analysis.
I’m writing this memo because I believe the best way to donate one billion dollars is to fund the construction of a science and technology museum in the Detroit inner city. This museum will not only provide a safe learning environment but also foster a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in disadvantaged students. This museum will feature a program that will fund student research and products. This museum will create a safe place for students to study and learn about STEM, that is why I am placing it near Northwestern High School in Detroit. I will evaluate success using test scores from Northwestern because students in this district have very little access to academic resources. I will be donating this money for 3 main reasons:
I am a senior at my school and will soon leave for college. My parents have decided to expand their housing ownership to the college district that I will be going to and I will be the one responsible for their new property. As you can imagine I know next to nothing about owning and maintaining a house and, after looking some things up, I realized that I also know very little about how to go about things in the real world. I started this project for myself so I wouldn’t mess up something important for them, but quickly realized that it would make a great senior project. I already know the basics of how to take care of both myself and a house but I realize that I will need more detailed information when I graduate. The main area for my project is English as I will be producing a finished manuscript on the subject of living alone for the first time.

Again, the assignment present for my rhetorical analysis is a project essays regard previous experience related to a Civil Engineer (CE) course. Around the time I signed up for that course, I was a Chemistry major, and was searching for alternative field
Welcome to my senior project portfolio. I was to learn about natural horsemanship skills and horse care by Mary Tyler, a volunteer coordinator at Sunrise Horse Rescue, who has dedicated about 11 years of her life to working with horses. It was easy asking Mary to be my mentor because I had volunteered at this rescue twice throughout high school. She would be mentoring me through the “Horsemanship and horse care world” accompanied by the horses that were sanctioned at Sunrise. Mary, having had plenty of horse work experience, took me under her wing and promised to show me as much basic knowledge that I needed to make this project successful.
In every high school, there is one main project senior year that has a dramatic effect on your grade. It was my Senior Research Project and it counted for about 20% of my grade. This research project relies heavily on technology not only for the information, but the overall presentation. The final product was supposed to be around 10 pages of writing and a 20 page PowerPoint presentation. I also had a video to show the class and a lot of my notes were on the computer in which I would base my presentation topic points on. It is a pretty big event where the parents show up as well as multiple teachers and classmates. The night of the event, I sat through a couple of my friends’ presentations and afterward headed over to my assigned classroom
My Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary studies concentrated on Human Service. This degree is unique in a way that it allows students to choose his/her own path of education. I chose the disciplines of nursing, education and psychology. I completed a clinical semester in a nursing home facility. Direct physical contact with patients was something that was very eye opening for me.
I am currently Junior Class President and I would like to transition into Senator of Academics. Accepting the position of leadership this year was a true pleasure. I have learned and evolved as a leader this year because of the projects the junior class has to plan. Planning prom and Mr. Palm Desert has not been easy, but we are currently moving along. With some bumps in a road, we are on track to make this prom one of the most profitable and fun prom yet. Working with my fellow class officers has been fun because we bank on each other's strengths and weaknesses. For example, I am not an artist and I don't can not visually imagine something, so the other three class officers take charge with wall posters. I am very comfortable filling out paperwork
Read your discussion board presentation. I have to applaud you for the courage, strength, and perseverance qualities that you possess among all the life’s curves that come your pathway and still wanting to achieve the goal to complete the PHD program through North Central University. As I have just joined the program, you have given me the mindset to keep it going no-matter what obstacles come my pathway. I worked in a Healthcare setting for more than 25 years as a Unit Secretary, Monitor Technician and wanted something more to life. I decided to go back to school and wanted to pursue a career in Accounting and looking at the real world, realized that I should continue my education one more step further in order to be able to withstand
A short while later, they took me into a building they called “the control center”, despite the fact that it was only a cafeteria. It was astonishing to see such a variety of engineers in one place. What I didn’t realize was that when it came to engineering, it takes such a large number of people with various authentic backgrounds to complete a single task.
I believe participating in the 2016 Junior Summit would be an exceptional time for personal growth and development, as well as affording me the opportunity to work alongside other like-minded leaders.
