You are nothing without your friends.
You are such a defective person, said someone laughing.

Had it not been your health, I would have only chosen you, but he has informed me about your thyroid, Poly cystic ovaries and the eye. You tell me if I am wrong longing for a healthy wife who could not just love but take care of my child and give him healthy children? As soon as she finished reciting that, the whole class including her burst out into laughter. Teacher, the only significance that names have in our lives is that they must not sound funny to our classmates. Before rheumatism ate it away, her childhood was simple. I wish I could turn back the clock and bring the wheels of time to a stop. I wish I could be a kid, a healthy kid again. I wish I could go back to the time where I was the most sought after girl at school and in college. I wish time could be turned back.
A tear rolled down her cheeks. Wiping it off, she turned her head away from the window to find a fellow co-passenger staring at her, probably at her breasts.
Excuse me Mr., what are you staring

“Well that 's a good observation. John is a very common name. So many great men are named John. My father being one of them. I’m John Junior and my father is John Senior. It is a name with power my mother will always say.”
Imagine back to your childhood. Life was probably simple for most of us, being able to play with our friends and having a stable home. Obviously not everyone has a perfect childhood, but what if someone was extremely poor, went back and forth from homes, was raped at age 9, and got pregnant at age 14, just to have their son be still born. Yet with all this happening, still became one of the most successful people in the world. Who is this person I am referring to? It is Oprah Winfrey.
In Speak the majority of names given to people by melinda are towards the bad side of things. She gives her P.S.S teacher the name “Mr. Neck”(7), because he is portrayed as a silly dude with a fat neck. We
In a few short years do not be surprised to see the name Melani Finney spelled out in lights while you stroll down Broadway. She mentions how her husband disregarded her illness, stating that “if a physician of high standing, and one 's own husband, assures friends and relatives that there is really nothing the matter with one but temporary nervous depression - a slight hysterical tendency - what is one to do?” (648). The doctor couldn’t see an illness without physical symptoms, but by telling everyone else that there isn’t really anything wrong, he neglects to acknowledge the way she feels by implying she can’t really be suffering if there’s no reason to suffer. In a way, he’s telling her how to feel, an action that’s both belittling and disempowering. He continues to impose his beliefs about her illness throughout the story, telling her “you really are bet¬ter, dear, whether you can see it or not. I am a doctor, dear, and I know. You are gaining flesh and color, your appetite is better, I feel really much easier about you” (652) when she tries to open up to him regarding the way a lack of stimulus and the horrible yellow wallpaper around her is only making things worse; he goes on to tell her “can you not trust me as a physician when I tell you so?” (652), using his position as a doctor to invalidate the way she feels. The entire time, the narrator knows that her treatment isn’t right for her, writing “[I’m] absolutely forbidden to "work" until I am well again. Personally, I disagree
"My sister gets the cool movie-inspired name, and I'm named after a grandmother I never knew, plus it's misspelled. It's the story of my life."
In this chapter, I tended to be more drawn in because I never would have thought that that a child’s name could have any affect (which is does not) on the success of a child. Many people with the same name, I have learned are not all going to be as smart or as well off as the other. Many names seem to have good or bad reputations. There was said to be studies found that showed people with unusual name to drop out of school and become more isolated in

I remember the day just like it was yesterday, the pale color and coldness of her skin. The sky was clear blue, soft, with a touch of red, and the trees seemed stiff in their bright green shade. The wind was blowing with its humid dry air. And All I could do was stand silently in disbelief, caught up in my own thoughts and calm as I ever been. Wondering what I could have done differently to change the course of time, life had taken us upon. Since that very day a chunk of my heart was ripped away, and broken into pieces… “Oh how I miss her so much.”
