Tera normally woke around 6:00, so she was surprised when she awoke to find the sun streaming into the bedroom and she judged it to be about 8:30. She walked down the stairs and into the kitchen to find everyone else already awake and up. "She wakes!" "Shut up, Jack." "Someone's grumpy this morning." Someone in the corner snorted, "Multiple someones." "Oh, right." Jack said, "Thomas is experiencing his first major hangover. I nearly forgot." No less than four people chuckled. "What? It's true." Thomas groaned and someone patted his back sympathetically. "So, Tera, what took you so long to wake up?" Jack smirked. The buffoon was enjoying this. She groaned, "You are an idiot." "You wound me." But, the humans forgot that they existed because the daemons had favored them over the other creatures, and became afraid of the daemons. One thing led to another and anti-daemon sentiment rose. The people leading this called themselves 'The People' and their opposition (pro-daemon people) called themselves 'The Others'. The People started gathering an army. This army was specially equipped with weapons meant to kill daemons. The Others did their best to stop this army from advancing on the daemons but failed. The People found a way into the demon realm and- The girl shut the book. She wanted a detailed history of the beginnings of Earth. Not a recount of The War. She knew she had paid too much for this book, but it had looked so promising! A History of Humans. She should have demanded to read the first chapter before purchase. But, no, she had forgotten. Now she was short on money and still no closer to finding the answer. A small dog padded up to her and quirked its head in a questioning manner. "Sorry Ralph, another dud." The dog seemed to sigh. That is if dogs could sigh, Ralph would've sighed at this moment. "Hey," says the girl, "Don't give up hope. I know it's hard not knowing, but we're sure to find an answer someday. I just hope it's soon." "The Others!" croaked a voice, "We could try to find them. Maybe this book wasn't such a bad investment after all!" The woman looked over at the blue and green parrot perched on the edge of the book.
