In America, public schools are allowed to teach any philosophy explaining the existence of all species on Earth. This ranges from christian creationism to scientific punctuated equilibria. Many have disputes about what should be taught in public schools but there is one obvious reason why Evolution should be regulated, it is the truth. Evolution is fact and is the most effective method for explaining our existence to present day society. Everything you know is compiled around evolution, even your understanding of evolution. If we want to understand ‘evolution’ and what context I am using it in, then we will have to go back to the beginning of time. It is known as one of the slowest natural processes on Earth. It took roughly 3 million years for protein molecules to evolve into complex one celled organisms. However, it can be sped up by human intervention. One of these examples being the dog species. This form of evolution took about 10 thousand years to complete the first tamed dog. Over the centuries, our ancestors selected dogs to breed based on specific behavioral and physical properties. This includes docility, aggression, strength and so on. If we do this system for multiple generations then it will make a desirable species. The same thing happens in nature. An animal will live or die based on behavioral and physical attributes, and through time, new and better species emerge. There have been many theories of evolution and how it is brought about and what it is exactly. Charles Darwin a scientist who came up with his theory of evolution and how it works. Darwin felt as though evolution to him was that it occurred through natural selection. Natural selection is the process of only traits that will survive are passed to the next generation. Species selection operates on variation provided by the largely random process of speciation and favors species that speciate at high rates or survive for long periods and therefore tend to leave many daughter species (Stanley, 1975 ). Evolution has been taught in all public schools for as long as many can recall. Though the process of evolution is not the only theory, schools have been teaching it as if it is the complete truth, ignoring other aspects and only focusing and targeting on Darwin's theory of Evolution. However, there are still many other ideas that the students should be informed of as well because all are theories, all are hypothetic. Teaching of the evolution theory have yet to be proven reliable and confirmed by all scientists, thus it should not be taught in schools and should be left for students to wonder and discover by themselves.

He also taught that only the fittest of each species would survive. He further postulated that the first living cell evolved in a "warm warm little pond" and that it took billions of years for the present diversity of living things to evolve. Evolution has a long history of being debated as inappropriate to be taught in schools. Evolution is the most popular theory currently taught in public high schools, and is widely accepted as a sound scientific concept to teach. However, it is equally true that many disagree with evolution and many of its concepts as an explanation of the origin of life on our planet, and it is thus my opinion that evolution should not even be taught in public science classes, as it is not scientifically sound, nor should be a part of a wide variety of concepts taught to students that that should also include intelligent design, creationism, or any other number of theories that have just as much of validity as evolution.

Only a few school distracts have approved the teaching of evolution because it has more senitific evidence than creationism to prove that it is true. According to a new Gallup poll, just 39% of Americans believe in evolution. The Gallup polls also show that those Americans with higher education believe in the theory of evolution as opposed to those with only high school diplomas. The polls found that 74% Americans with post-graduate degrees believe in evolution theory compared to 21% of Americans with only high school diplomas. The Gallup polls suggest that the belief in the theory of evolution is associated with education.
