Tobacco has been around in the world for over 2.5 million years. It was not until a few hundred years ago when the tobacco industry decided to put these crops into use and conjure up tobacco products for the community. A popular tobacco product in society is cigarettes, as they are cheap and simple to use. As long as one is over eighteen, acquiring cigarettes is a straightforward process for a reasonable price, albeit the sin tax. It was not until recently when cigarettes became widely controversial due to the plant containing nicotine, an addictive drug to the body. Aside from containing nicotine and other hazardous chemicals to the body, cigarettes also cause a whole host of health implications

One of the largest and most problematic health issues in our society is smoking. Smoking is currently the leading cause of death in our country, due to its harmful and addicting contents, such as nicotine and tobacco. Although millions die from it each year, smoking is the single most preventable cause of death as well. Without smoking, a tremendous amount of money and lives will be saved. I think that our country should ban smoking and the production of cigarettes in order to maintain a healthier nation, help save the environment, and prevent the almost 1000 deaths that they cause in fires each year.

Smoking is the inhalation and exhalation of the smoke of burning tobacco. Historically, it was thought that smoking was harmless, but more modern, clinical and laboratory research proves that it is, in fact, extremely dangerous. Tobacco cigarettes should be illegal in the United States due to their plethora of negative effects on the population and the environment. If cigarettes were banned, the country would be a much better place. Pollution, diseases and fatalities would dramatically decrease, while productivity, financial stability and overall health would increase.

Cigarettes can cause many health issues such as cancer and lung problems. Smoking causes yellow nails, yellow teeth, bad breath, wrinkles, and breathing problems. Cigarettes are harmful and should be illegal. Banning cigarettes will save thousands of people’s lives.

Every year the US government passes numerous laws to protect its citizens. Yet, they still fail to protect its citizens from the leading cause of death in America. Although they work to protect the citizens they continue to ignore the most preventable death in America. The culprit responsible for these deaths is the cigarette. The impact that cigarettes make on a human is awful and there should be no reason why it is legal. Cigarettes should be banned because it is one of the harm fullest drugs around that is still legal. Cigarettes not only affect ones health but it affects the environment, economy and others around them.

According to the Center Of Disease Control and Prevention reported that 46 million people in the American who are age of 18 and older smoke cigarettes, and there are more than 480,000 smoking related deaths per year in the United States. Smoking is does not just put the smokers at risk, but also people around them. According to the Center Of Disease Control and Prevention since 1964, approximately around 2.500.000 non- smokers died because of exposure to second hand smoke I think that smoking should be banned completely in home, worksite, and public place around the world to reduce the cause of deaths and pollution.

Despite decades of the consumer warnings of unpleasant and early deaths, cigarettes have not been banned and made illegal. The cigarette industry has had numerous claims filed against it over health issues, the prices of the products,the ingredients used, and where the cigarettes are produced. The hundreds of lives that could be saved every year from the cigarette ban, not to mention money and revenue that could be generated in the US by this is more than enough reasons to get on board. Many people want the freedom to make their own choices, but if the choice you make is only a negative choice that will affect you and everyone around you, something like cigarette sales, should be banned in America.

Do you think cigarettes are good? I know I do not because they are horrible for your health. Some of these reasons why making cigarettes illegal would be a good outcome are less air pollution, reducing healthcare costs, and decreasing the possibility of fires.
