Theme: This essay will analyze how the themes of injustice, profiling, and fear is portrayed in both “To Kill A Mockingbird” by Harper Lee and various short stories in Richard Wright’s “Eight Men”. In addition, the essay will also identify and discuss how the mentioned themes are vital to the understanding of both novels.

Injustice A.Injustice is portrayed in “To Kill A Mockingbird” when Tom Robinson was is accused of a rape crime that he did not commit. 1.”The only thing we’ve got is a black man’s word against the Ewells” (Lee 91). C. Both characters in both texts were wrongly convicted for crimes they did not commit and because of their race, the laws of justice does not apply to them. D.Conclusion

III. Profiling A. In, To Kill a Mockingbird, Boo Radley was profiled as a creep because many people did not know anything about him. 1. “ Boo was about six-and-a-half feet tall, judging from his tracks; he dined on raw squirrels and any cats he could catch, that’s why his hands were bloodstained” (Lee 14). B. In Eight Men: Big Black Good Man, Olaf had profiled the black man because of his looks and was intimidated by them. 1.“He was emotionally determined to refuse a man a room solely on the basis of the man’s size and color…”( Wright 89).
