Social anxiety is the third largest mental problem in the world. Social anxiety is fear of interaction with other people, being judged, embarrassment, humiliation or depression. In the United sates about 40 million Americans have this Disorder. Social anxiety can be caused by biological, psychological and environmental factors; these factors can be effectively identified and treated. To begin with, Social anxiety can be caused from Psychological reason. People who have been bullied or are being bullied have a chance of getting social anxiety because of getting humiliated or embarrassed. Being humiliated or embarrassed could also get you to have social anxiety. People who went/go through any family issues also could get Social anxiety. Having …show more content…

Having controlling parents or overprotective parents can make some children get social anxiety. For example, if children have controlling parents or over protective parents, some children lack of good social skills, when children don’t have good social it can lead to social anxiety disorder because without good social skills children wouldn’t know how to communicate with people correctly or they wouldn’t know what to say to that person. Children or adults get social anxiety by seeing other people’s behavior. For example if people see kids or other adults being laughed at or made fun of by others because of what they do or say they will become scared of interacting with people because they think it will happen to them, are likely to get social anxiety of fear that the same thing is going to happen to them. Kids have a higher percentage of getting social anxiety because of bullying. Being bullied can get you depressed and scared of interacting with anybody because they are afraid people will bully them or think they aren’t worth it. That is, you may develop the condition after witnessing the anxious behavior of others. For example if you have a fast heartbeat, trouble catching your breath, confusion or feeling out of body, Muscle tension, Upset stomach, and dizziness or lightheadedness are all signs that you may have social anxiety. Social anxiety disorder can also be caused from emotional and psychological symptoms. For example, Fear of situations where you can be judged, fear of blushing, sweating, trembling or having a shaky voice, expecting the worse out of situations and avoiding being the center of attention are emotional symptom. Worrying about social situations or worrying about a social event for weeks are Psychological symptoms. People who try to avoid any social situations also can be a sign of social anxiety. For example, if a person avoids attending parties, Social gathering, talking to strangers, making eye contact or entering a room where people are already seated at or avoid any public places, are symptoms of social anxiety disorder.
