Effects of Social Media on Communication Social media has become a very important object in most people’s daily life. It has become not even thought of because of how many people have different types of social media that is checked and used daily. Those who are on the internet using social media are not even realizing that they are losing connections with the real world. In today’s society, who someone is on social media is more important. New friends are created, and some are even finding a way to make a living online. Social media seems to have quite the impact, especially on teenagers; however, most do not see the impact that it has. Social media has caused the biggest problem with communication. Social media is causing people to grow up not knowing how to communicate face to face making us antisocial, and it is causing a problem with the way we are beginning to speak. Social media is taking over the world. It is a way to interact with people over the internet. Social media has brought people from around the world together and is a way to stay in touch with people who you might not see often and understand their life. Social media websites such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter are the new trend of communication and are the fastest growing resources for meeting people, keeping people updated, and connecting with friends and family. There are hundreds of different ways humans communicate whether it’s through different languages, talking on the phone or sending letters in the mail, and the most recent form of communication, social media. What is so outstanding about social media is the fact that it allows individuals to represent themselves and have their own voice in the form of words, pictures, and videos. How is this new form of communication affecting the younger generations? Social media has had a detrimental effect on how we interact with each other, especially little kids and young adults.

A wide conceptual definition of social media, as cited in Ressler & Glazer (2010), is “The online and mobile accessible services that enable individuals to connect, collaborate, and share with others in real time.” Social media has an obvious influence on informal communication style and represents both possibility and liability for healthcare institutions. As cited in Bernhardt, Alber, & Gold (2014), “Social media provide healthcare professionals with tools to share information, to debate health care policy and practice issues, to promote health behaviors, to engage with the public, and to educate and interact with patients, caregivers, students, and colleagues.” It also presents challenges, including risks to information accuracy, organizational reputation, and individual privacy. Social media can be a very helpful in communicating among nurses and other healthcare providers while creating professional connections, and sharing experiences, but guidelines for appropriate use by healthcare providers are essential. Whether or not certain healthcare organization decides to use social media as a communications tool - social media policy still need to be implemented. Policies help establish an organization 's rules and expectations around social media.

Young impressible minds constantly streaming the web; copying what they see on the internet believing they can do it better. The problem is clear as day. Social websites tend to change certain characteristics of people. Some of these characteristics can be for the better or for the worse. And most of these characteristics are affecting the children the most, since they are the most impressible. And sadly accidents and death has been happening; but there is a bright side to these changes of characteristics. Thru my research I was able to find three website that had most effect on changing of characteristics. This proves my theory of through social networks dramatically has been changing people.
