Greg lived with his family then Dr Larsen came along and introduced the family to the brilliance of the institute but was it really brilliant. The institute was a “advanced learning facility…. A mismatched bunch of post- (most of us) pubescent misfits, with super-high IQs and sub-zero social skills, locked away in this cosy coastal retreat, partly because they don’t understand us any more….”(A cage of butterflies, Caswell, 1992, Pg. 9). Greg didn’t mind being in the institute after his best friend Mikki arrived but he didn’t really fit in and he certainly didn’t fit in in the outside world. “Normal” society or the outside

Matt Gerard is a balancer. I wish I could tell you how busy his family is. Matt has a full time job running his hectic scheduled family enough as it is, he then decided to acquire a business on top of it all, and he could not be running his life more smoothly. Working endless hours from nine in the morning to two in the morning the next day and juggling a family of six seems impossible; yet Matt Gerard seems to have it figured out. Owning and operating a family owned business, Rage Grafix, and having a sizeable family does not leave Matt enough time to be active around the community, however he does everything he can do to give back to the Johnson county and outside communities.

Returning group members greeted each other with hugs, handshakes, pat on the back, while newcomers sat quietly observing others. Although, she acknowledges the contribution of her husband in making her feel better every day despite the tiring day of household chores. Supervision in social work is defined by Barker (1999) as an administrative and educational process used extensively in social agencies to help social workers further develop and refine their skills, enhance staff morale, and provide quality assurance for the clients. The short term objective of supervision is to provide workers with the work structure and agency resources which help to increase workers knowledge and skills to do their jobs effectively and professionally. The long term objective of supervision is to provide clients the most efficient service possible, consistent with agency policies and procedures.
