The Army in an extremely nostalgic organization with a copious amount traditions and has about a million different methods of conducting its business. Some are old and some are new, but possibly the oldest one that has been around since before the Army was officially established and still lives today is the Armys rules, regulations and policies on customs and courtesies. An NCO, Non-Commissioned Officer, is better known as the backbone of the Army. They are the ones who are supposed to exhibit exemplary behavior at all times, for all of the junior soldiers. By performing this type of leadership, an NCO can prove their ability to execute at least one of the many things a soldier is expected to do. Also, articles should not protrude from pockets or have a bulky appearance. The regulation provides guidance for all men and women in the army to keep this high standard of appearance.
