Crossing The Line Tradition

Navy uniforms are some of the most striking and recognizable symbols of honor and tradition around the world. Whether in dress blues, dress whites or khakis, the men and women who dawn the Navy uniform wear it with pride and distinction. Senior Enlisted Leaders must be aware of available organizational clothing and maximize Sailor usage to minimize the financial burden on members. This paper will cover the background of the Navy’s uniform requirements and the financial burden required to maintain them, offer discussion on the impact it has on personnel and recommendations for mitigating these impacts.

Any males enrolled in JROTC have to wear there JROTC uniforms with a white button dress shirt or the regular JROTC grey shirt with a black bow tie.

Emotions can be shown, and mostly our clothing shows that we want to be seen as flashy, dark, or even hopeful. Although when uniforms come into the equation what does it give us? Nothing. We may not consciously think about the off-grid places where our military must serve. Imagine areas without provisions for doing laundry. Perhaps there is no electricity. Whatever the reason… some service men and women must wear the same uniforms for days.

Tradition is a custom, which changes through time and situation. Overlooking tradition is not good for our society. In contrast, sticking to old tradition sometimes brings darkness for our society. In the story “Lottery” the villagers blindly stick to their old tradition. Every year, my family makes an effort to travel across the country from our hometown in Tennessee to southern California to visit family. Our family has celebrated many traditions over the years, but this is one that means the most to me. Also, some of the most memorable moments of my life happened during this tradition. In the past 2 years, the United States Navy has implemented several changes to their uniform components. The uniform changes which have drawn the liveliest debates are those that deal directly with our female uniform components. These changes have long term implications for the direction of our Naval Service, our traditions and our heritage. Senior leadership, to include The Secretary of the Navy, expressed that it was important to change the style of our uniforms in order to fully integrate our female shipmates into the Navy. It will help level the field and to garner respect for our female Sailors. However, the issue rests deeper than outward look and design of a uniform and why Navy uniforms should not be used as a means to achieve gender equality.

A meaningful tradition to me is when me and my dad go out a couple of days before christmas and shop for my mom. One week ago me and my dad invited my brother to are christmas shopping. We went to belk and target, and we got her a lot of really good presents.

For over a century. Girl Scouts have proudly worn distinctive uniforms that symbolize the high ideals for which girl scouting stands(Henderson,N). Girls always wear a sash with their uniform.They want to look and feel their best when represing Girl Scouts. They are different groups in Girl Scout depending on what Grade. Each group requires one tunic,sash,or vest(Henderson,N).Girls can mix and match their uniforms. The Girls scout uniform has always been special for many years.

Many people would say serving in the United States Armed Forces is a very commendable thing to do. But a part of being a solider is wearing a uniform. How many times have you looked at a soldier and said, “Why do they have to wear those uniforms” or “Why aren’t they allowed to show their individuality through their clothes”? Robert Baden-Powell once said, “The uniform makes for brotherhood, since when universally adopted it covers up all differences of class and country.” So why can’t we look at school uniforms in a way that brings students together? Although the average student’s uniform may not be the ideal fashion statement, it eliminates many unnecessary distractions or risk that could arise at school.

This uniform may also be worn to civilian functions such as weddings, religious services, and the like.

Five days after graduating highschool, I left my hometown for the United States Navy. The dress code was simple: hair needed to be cut a certain way, creases in my uniforms were to be exact, mandatory clean shaven face and my medals/ribbons needed to be in their proper place and perfectly aligned to standards. Once I retired, reality set it when I assumed the role as a Human Resourcess Manager or Director. Skirt lengths, open/closed toed shoes, cleavage (both front and rear), piercings and tattoos are just a few of the items I was responsible for in regulating at the corporate office. This paper will discuss many of the common dress code issues, legal responsibilities and a bit of personal humor and insight into the ordeal of establishing a dress code policy that will regulate your appearance. In addition, this paper will add some of my trials and pitfalls when establishign policy that might help some of my colleagues who will become Human Resources professionals learn to be realistic and quite possibly compassionate when it comes to preparing a dress code policy.

When not in uniform, her style is depended on her mood. Sometimes she would wear a beautiful peach colored dress, but the other day she will wear oversized hoodie and jeans.
