A person that I deeply respect and look up to is Sonia Sotomayor, an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. I respect Sonia Sotomayor because of the diversity she brought to the Supreme Court. She was the very first Justice on the Supreme court with a Latina background. I admire her bravery.
Women’s equality has made huge advancements in the United States in the past decade. One of the most influential persons to the movement has been a woman named Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Ruth faced gender discrimination many times throughout her career and worked hard to ensure that discrimination based on a person’s gender would be eliminated for future generations. Ginsburg not only worked to fight for women’s equality but fought for the rights of men, as well, in order to show that equality was a human right’s issue and not just a problem that women faced. Though she faced hardships and discrimination, Ruth never stopped working and thanks to her equality is a much closer reality than it was fifty years ago. When Ruth first
The pair that I have chosen is Angelina E. Grimké and Sojourner Truth. These two women are strong for standing up for what they believe in. Even though they came from different backgrounds of life, they fought for the same equal rights and freedom.
Who inspires me is rosa park because she stood up for what was right. She knew it was wrong that people with darker skin were mistreated. So she made a great decision and changed how people thought and did to people with darker colored skin. That's why I like her she knew it was wrong and did what was wright. If she never did that how would people with darker colored skin be treated today. I'm very thankful that she did that it changed the world and made it better.

A person I really admire is Rosa Parks. Growing up in Alabama, Rosa came from a black family with poor health. The only education she received was until she was 11, but went on to finish high school later on in life. Rosa was very self conscious growing up and being black in a small Alabama town. She often got bullied by the white kids in her neighbourhood, but she always fought back physically. As Rosa got older, she became well aware of the very less rights black people had. They were forced to enter through the front of the bus, pay their fares, get out, and reenter through the back, where they got their seat in the ‘coloured-section’. In 1945, Rosa entered through the front of the bus, paid her fare, and went straight to her seat, instead

In June of 2015, Rachel said that she was born and lived in a teepee and that the family hunted for their food with bow and arrow. Rachel’s mother, Ruthanne Dolezal, stated that she and Rachel's father, Lawrence, briefly lived in a teepee before Rachel was born. In June of 2015, Dolezal also said that she lived in South Africa as a child, but her family disputes the claim.
Sojourner Truth was an outspoken woman who fought for women's rights, black's rights, and antislavery. She fully believed what she spoke when she said, "Truth is powerful and it prevails." Sojourner Truth stood up for something she believed in, and it is still affecting people's lives in many positive ways today.
No one has any idea of what the new supreme court will be like every time they are chosen. Even the presidents and officials who appoint them can only presume what kind of future the new supreme court holds. A good example would be Sonia Sotomayor, the first latino justice chosen by president Barack Obama who chose her because he felt that she had a bright future, but in reality she didn’t really stand out much. She is often compared to the first African American and first female justice, who did in fact break racial and gender barriers but weren’t generally seen as intellectual leaders. A trend in the recent decades displays that presidents typically nominate candidates with high academics, judicial resumes, a history of controversial speeches,

Mr. Tyson, inspires me through his ethnicity and background, character, and accomplishments. It is clear he should be a role model for young black men such as myself.
I look up to people who are not afraid to stand up for what they believe and speak their mind no matter what others have to say, People who chase their dreams and don’t let anything or anyone get in there way, and people who don’t give up or change their mind when it gets too hard. I believe if you really set your mind to something you can achieve anything because nothing can
This essay will examine the doctrine of Judicial precedent that helps form the English Legal System. It will illustrate various views that have been raised by Judges and relating cases to the use of ‘Stare decisis’ when creating precedents. In addition it will discuss how the developments in the powers of the courts now also allow them to depart from these precedents to an extent.
