Systems Development Life Cycle Baderman Island will have to go through a specifications and metrics process to be able to implement successfully the new enterprise technology. The company will go through the systems development life cycle (SDLC) when implementing the new technology. “SDLC is the process of developing information systems through investigation, analysis, design, implementation and maintenance. SDLC is also known as information systems development or application development. SDLC is a systems approach to problem solving and is made up of several phases, each comprised of multiple steps” (Webopedia, 2008, para.2). The company will go through many SDLC associated activities, such as, planning, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance. The planning phase is an important phase for the company as it helps determine a solid development plan of the new technology. The planning phase will address defining the system to be developed, setting the project scope and developing he project plan. Baderman Island will identify and determine the system which is required to support the company’s strategic goals. The company will track the proposed system and prioritize based on business impact and critical success factors. Setting the project scope will clearly define the high level system requirements. The

The first step will be to look at the goals of the project, and align them with the mission of the company. Systematically, the project will be broken into phases: Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, Coordinating, Budgeting, Evaluating, and Reporting. The planning determines which actions the company must take to accomplish her targets. Based on the planning the company can take into account required capital, staff needs, patenting, etc.
The nature and scope of a project is determined at the initiation stage. This involves analyzing the business needs, developing goals, budgets, tasks, deliverables, and the stakeholder analysis. The project planning stage determines the planning team, develops the scope, and identifies work breakdown structure and activities that will be needed to complete deliverables. Though many people interchange system engineering models and software engineering life cycle models, they are defined as two different approaches to software development. System engineering is the technical and technical management process that results in delivered products and systems that exhibit the best balance of cost and performance. As the program progresses from one phase to the next one, so does the system engineering process. It deals with the overall management of engineering project during their life cycle. Its main focus is knowing what the clients and end users wants and needs are satisfied and developing just that all the way through the system’s entire life cycle. Whereas, on the other hand, software engineering focuses on the quality of the product or system, how cost effective it is, is it done within the time-constraints given, whether it is easy to maintain and enhance, and does it work as the requirements defined. Its main focus is on delivering a product that meets the requirement specifications. There are so many models to choose from, as it all depends on what the project needs and entails. Depending on the requirements, allows for the choice of what mode to use.
Computer system plays an important role in solving human problem in their daily life. There are standard steps in order to develop information system called System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). SDLC is the framework available to build a complete system. There are five phases in SDLC which are planning, analysis, design, coding, testing and maintenance (refer to Figure 1 in Appendix 1).
In this phase, there will be blueprints that show all the cable and also the arrangement all the computer to synchronize all the lab. This phase is the plan before the implementation made and the suitable design that suit the lab. It will show the design for the room, the place that the wire will place and also the rack for the switch.
