A well known, English pop girl group formed in 1994, known as The Spice Girls, dominated the music charts in the 1990s because of their catchy, sing along lyrics and fierce attitudes they put out. The group consisted of five young women and started to grow in the 90s. The girls recognized themselves as; Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), and Victoria Beckham Adams (Posh Spice). These girls released their first song “Wannabe”, sold 65 million records worldwide, and even starred in their own movie. The Group had a similar yet different look on their movement then the girl groups from the 50s and 60s,which played a role in their success. The movie, Spice World, The world famous pop group drives around London in their double decker tour bus having various adventures and performing for their fans while a film crew follow them around. The movie was produced in 1997 and fit into the genre of comedy, family, and music. The Spice Girls and Kim Fuller, a writer and producer, were the original creators of the idea for the movie. As the movie opens, the girls are super excited and enjoying their time being a famous world hit. Throughout the movie the girls realize the many burdens of being pop stars, learning that fame can be challenging and privacy is very rare. The week of the release, the movie reached number two in the US charts, taking 11 million viewers the opening weekend but not quite beating out the movie, Titanic.
