There are many different CALL tools that have been described above and all of them have plenty of task-based language learning value. Quizlet allows for development of vocabulary skills, both in first and second languages, which allows for a learner to comprehend more texts (Park et al., 2012). Google docs offers much in the way of collaborative written tasks which drives more student motivation for completion and hosts of a lot of potential in development in accuracy of written language (Ware & Kessler, 2012). With the combination of other written tasks such as Edublogs, there is a variety of task-ideas for teachers to offer students, that are appealing to the eye due to aspects such as VSTF and visual aids making reading more fluent (Park et al., 2012). Quizlet is very helpful for a learner to determine the correct pronunciation of a term that they are learning, as it gives a spoken version of both terms and definitions. Other tools can assist with listening also, which allow for greater comprehension but there are few that require speaking. Explain everything could be used as a formative or summative task to follow the above applications. Students would be encouraged to use their own voices to portray an understanding of a topic, along with the help of pictures and text. This would develop spoken communication of the person explaining and can easily be carried out as a collaborative task in
Tattoos have recently become increasingly popular in youth, due to the hidden meanings and symbolism that they are endowed with. Helen Day’s opinionative blog entry, The Power of Ink, asserts that the significance of tattoos have diminished due to the fashionable aesthetics that tattoos project. A highly casual, yet acknowledging tone characterises her blog entry, which is predominantly catered to young Australian readers who are interested in receiving a tattoo. Accompanying her blog entry is a number of comments which both support and criticise the new phenomenon of tattoos. Poignantly complementing her article is an image of Ta Mako tattoos, a Maori form of body art, and the front cover of the written work “No tattoos before you’re
* Communication can be either verbal or written. Communication can also be seen by facial expressions, gesture and body language. In addition to the words, messages are transferred by the tone and quality of voice and eye contact.
Speech, language and communication skills support the behavior area in child’s development because if we say negative things to a child then they will feel upset and worthless. Also if we use negative body language this can make a child feel worried or want to push the boundaries of what is/ isn’t acceptable. Children may say horrible things to another child (or adult) so we should try helping the child to see why it isn’t nice to say those things by asking them how they would feel if someone had said it to them instead. The way things are said to a child can make a big difference to how they react. For instance if you say to a child who is messing with a pencil “put that down” in an aggressive way, it could make the child scared, whereas
Cole Jackson period 7 The time of sunshine or summer soldiers is now coming to an end as the colonies enter a time of action needed un order to continue this fight for independence against the British. During the time period, British government had been taxing the colonies for breathing practically. Colonists just withstood an eight-month winter toil in which they were unable to strike or fight back. Thomas Paine, seeing the ripe opportunity for action, called on colonists to form and build a militia to prove a point to the British and how serious colonists are about freedom. However, many people feared the idea of a militia as they felt this was a too bold and harsh decision to go against the British army. Throughout Crisis No. 1, Paine connects

Approximately 300,000 child soldiers are actively serving in military forces, terrorist organizations, and gangs. In 1993 and at the age of 13, Ishmael Beah was forced into the same horrendous situation. Ishmael Beah’s A Long Way Gone depicts his own journey of loss, military recruitment, and rehabilitation. Ishmael Beah uses figurative language to support the theme that the capacity for true evil is present in everyone if they are given apt incentive.
Imagine trying to show the Nation what a candidate was doing wrong in a time of war and having to be responsible if I was to go wrong. In 1964, Ronald Reagan gave the “A Time for A Choosing” speech which was aired on television all over the United States. Reagan wanted to discuss what was going on with the presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. During this time many rumors about Goldwater were spread around the U.S. Most were about how Barry was planning to “re-segregate” America if he was elected as president(). Future President, Ronald Reagan, gave the speech “A Time for A Choosing” because he wanted to show America what was going on in Vietnam, how he could help with it and what Goldwater was doing that was hurting America.
People spend a significant part of their lives listening and talking, that is the main reason why conversation is regarded to be the most generalised form of talk that concerns both speakers and listeners and it is contemplated to be the essential ingredient in co-operative undertaking (Wardhaugh, 1985). Conversation is informal talk involving two or more people and interviews are a particular type of conversation. Interviews are regarded as meetings at which a journalist asks questions in order to find out the interviewee’s opinion. This is an assignment that analyses a telephone interview, so there is an absence of eye contact, body language or facial expressions that are attributes of a ‘live’
The title of the article, which is on the Huffington Post web page, is “The Importance of Preserving and Promoting Languages: A Liberal Arts Perspective” by Michael Zimmerman, PhD. This analysis of the effects of assimilation on native languages around the world, will provide some insight to a topic you may have never considered. It is generally not frowned upon to interrupt signers to tell them you are taking a course in ASL as long as it is done politely and non-intrusively. Even if most ASL conversations are out in the open, one should take note of the mood/tone of the conversation and proceed to interrupt or join in accordingly. Like mentioned in the chapter, if the conversation is more informal and casual, the Deaf signers will most likely accept your presence, but this can change depending on the situation. It is recommended to first observe and wait for an opening in the conversation before getting the signer’s attention. A gentle tap on the shoulder or a quick hand wave is sufficient and it is best to avoid using exaggerated motions to get a Deaf person’s attention.
Spoken work is a form of artwork that helps individual of expressing their voice and feeling to a huge audience, before never consider being as an artwork. I use to think of that back when I was a young child. It also ties to a strong storytelling that has a deep meaning. Back home where my parents are from Oromia now know as Ethiopia they have spoken words also known as (wallaoo) to express how the Ethiopian government are prisoning the Oromo people and taking their land. I started writing my own spoken words when I started high school to express my identity, my emotions, which all act of my self-expression. I usually write spoken word when I can’t express something that cannot be easily expressed in logical, precise and analytical forms.
I have learned that language, whether written, spoken or heard is how we communicate with each other.
Have to is a non-modal alternative to the modal verb must to talk about obligation.

To enhance academic performance a regular meeting between the tutor and his student is important, as it helps the teacher to know the student’s area of weakness and tackle it accordingly. To ensure that there is a constant meeting between the teacher and his students, ICT as a tool of communication is sometimes used to complement or supplement physical meeting as in the case on online learning - As mobile communication technologies enable seamless interaction between people and integrate the global network (Arminen, 2007).
