Michelle has had very bad luck with her life. She is very clumsy and has broken many bones throughout her life. Everything just seemed to be going wrong with her. She broke her nose because she wasn’t paying attention and ran into the glass door at school. Her nose that she broke is superior to her abdomen. Michelle likes to drink soda all the time for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She knew that drinking way too much soda could lead to kidney stones and crystals, but she didn’t think it would happen to her. So in her abdominal cavity, she developed kidney stones because she like drinking soda. A couple of weeks later, in her pelvic cavity, she got a bladder infection. It went away in a couple of days. Michelle never had time to eat, due to …show more content…

Her kneecap was still located on the anterior (ventral) side of her leg; nothing was displaced. Also the accident left some big scratches on her elbow which was proximal to her wrist that were pretty bruised up. Her skin that was superficial to her skeletal muscles that are apart of the skeletal system, was in bad shape because of all the bruises and scratches. Her lungs that are deep (internal) to her skin, were nearly smashed in the accident, but thank goodness that didn’t happen. Her spine, which is dorsal (posterior) to her breast bone, felt a little sore, but nothing major was wrong. `Her broken nose was inferior to her chin, which she had to get stitches on her chin. After the horrible accident, she got into a fight with a girl. Most of her oral cavity was messed up. Her lip was busted and her gums were bleeding. She didn’t lose any teeth, which is good. She just had to go to the hospital to get everything checked out. Through all these horrible things that have happened to her, her cardiovascular system was still working and distributing blood to all the parts of her

Jane had undergone several surgeries to her left leg due to crushing both her tibia, fibula as well as her broken ankle. Jane had also broken her femur on her left leg. Jane spent several weeks in the hospital recovering from her injuries. When she was stable enough, she was transferred to an inpatient rehabilitation facility in the hospital. Jane had spent about two weeks at that facility. During which her daughter had moved her dad in with her due to his needs. Jane was now even further away from her family. Jane had demonstrated good steady progress however, due to
Her wound was extremely large on her sacrum, black and very hard. At this point was extremely discoloured (black) but the skin was intact and only had a light exudate. However there was evidence of full thickness skin loss which was masked by the necrotic tissue, so
The Practice Nurse at the GP’s surgery had administered a tetanus booster injection as Jean could not remember when she had one last and the trolley had appeared to be rusty. I undertook a full wound assessment which showed a wound 3cm by 3.5cm to the left calf area. The wound bed was 70% yellow sloughy fibrous tissue and 20% granulation tissue. There was

Injuries like the one she experienced are incredibly rare. In the United States alone, it is estimated that at least two million people are missing one or more limbs, and about 185,000 amputations occur annually. Fifty-four percent of the population receive amputations because of vascular diseases like diabetes. Forty-five percent get amputations because of trauma. Less than two percent get amputations due to cancer (“Limb Loss”). People are 15,000 times more likely to die in a car accident than get bitten by a shark. People are thirty times more likely to die from getting struck by lightning. Losing a limb would make everyday tasks very difficult to accomplish. It would be hard to get dressed, eat, or even tie shoes

When a counselor has a new client they are working with, the client has to be assessed. When being assessed the counselor has to determine what issues the client may have. Through being assessed, the counselor may come to realize the client has more than one issue which is called co-occurring disorders. At this point the client will have to be treated for more than one disorder to effectively overcome the problems they are facing. Within this paper one will locate the prevalence of co-occurring disorders, mental health and substance abuse
The bacteria spread fast, leaving the leg unsalvageable. The question on all of our minds was why the patient had waited so long to seek treatment. Surely she was in a lot of pain, and that odor... why wait? The answer was purely financial. Money deterred her from seeking treatment which caused a
be in disarray. A large red bump was observed on the left side of her head.
Her physical exam was notable for a blood pressure of 105/56 mmHg, pulse of 87 beats/min, temperature of 37.7 C, respiratory rate of 20/min, and oxygen saturation of 100% on the ventilator. Her secondary survey revealed unequal pupils with discordant reactivity. Her right pupil was 8 mm and non-reactive to light and her left pupil was 3 mm and reactive to light. Ominously, she was noted to have decerebrate posturing (indicating severe brain damage) of both the upper and lower extremities bilaterally. On further examination, a five cm laceration to the right lower anterior thigh was identified and repaired. Her Focused Assessment Sonogram for Trauma (FAST) exam was negative.
The injuries he suffered were overwhelming, and so sudden that at first, he didn't know anything was wrong. Only when he tried to put weight on his leg did he realize the extent of the damage. He jokes about it today. "I found that I didn't have a leg to stand on," he chuckles. Most of the flesh on his leg was ripped away, leaving his foot attached only by the tendons in the back of his calf. Bones were exposed and the bleeding was profuse. He also suffered head and internal injuries.
Mental illness is a health condition that affects an individual’s moods and thinking in a way that changes how that person relates to other people in society. The functioning of the affected person is also altered and usually results in the person failing to perform some of the daily activities that the person has previously engaged in. Mental illness can be considered a combination of both social and health complications, affecting the social life of the people who fall victim in many ways (Elliott & Huizinga, 2012). There are some health complications that are also experienced with mental disorders. It is also important to note that medical attention forms part of the therapies that try to correct or control this condition. More recently most concern has been on the fact that mental illness is a major social problem in the world (Gonzalez & Rosenheck, 2014).
