The country I would like to visit is Venezuela. And a holiday that is celebrated in Venezuela in October is Dia De Los Muertos or The Day of the Dead. The Day of the Dead is celebrated on October 31 to November 2. Although many people think the Day of the Dead is Halloween, it is different than Halloween. The Day of the Dead celebrates the dead but not their death and the sadness of them but the full period of life’s they had and how the holiday actual worships death. People celebrate by going to the cemetery’s and decorating the persons grave and they also celebrate at home by making an altar and giving offerings on the altar such as food, clothes and other things. People also celebrate with special foods and symbolic goods like candy skulls,

The barley was used in the making of whiskey; oatmeal was their breakfast and potatoes (they would starve without their potatoes). They also enjoy soups, beef, and short-bread. The music of the Scotch-Irish can be found primarily in the Appalachian Mountains. The region is ripe with folk songs of the culture. The Scotch-Irish are a clannish lot meaning they would travel with their clans and settle in the same area. (Everyculture) This also allowed the Scotch-Irish to keep their culture intact.

How a person out of the same mouth can agree that man is human and yet treat him like a slave; how can you agree that man is entitled to liberty, and yet beat man with a whip. Douglass was trying to prove the extreme level of hypocrisy within the heart of man that celebrated independence day while have a host of slaves under his control. In addition, Douglass is going through the process of eliminating every possible argument leading up to the argument where he compels his audience to think about the fact that if it is not any of the other arguments does this mean that slavery is divine, yet, he debunks this idea by stating, “That which is inhuman, cannot be divine!” (Douglass 315)

If, life me, you plan on celebrating your Irish-American heritage tonight, please also find some time to learn about that heritage. It could change the way you view the world around you. Even if you lack Irish ancestry, the fact that the same handful of claims were made to stir up hatred and fear against a long list of cultural “others” throughout this country’s history only to be consistently proven to be malicious nonsense is essential knowledge in an age whose demagogues continue to make those very same claims. Please, don't be a
