Robert A. Heinlein once said, “One man’s magic is another man’s engineering.”With saying I would like to be open about myself as to why I wish to pursue electronic and computer engineering at HKUST.Being one of the world’s best places to pursue engineering for undergraduate and I am very excited by the core curriculum. I would love a practical and research oriented course with equal theoretical knowledge. I am expecting classes to be different from how they are back home.HKUST has always been my dream college. Moreover, many seniors have suggested me to apply to HKUST.Studying at HKUST is not only about the education you get there, it’s a family in which I want to become a part.

I often recall opening numerous devices and see what’s inside it. The main reason I want to pursue electronic engineering is because of my love for building circuits. Building and designing circuits have always been my hobby.During my free time, I do research on circuits. My summer holidays, I am deeply involved in making these circuits. When the circuit works, the amount of joy I get is fathomless.I have built many circuits. This hobby is very close to my heart and electronic engineering would help me in seeing how principles are to be applied to my future designs. My intention is to build devices which would help differently-able people overcome their difficulties. In the next 10 years, my aim is to start a company and help these people in their daily lives. I want to be part of our technological future and make a positive contribution to future developments and electronic and communication engineering has a major role in it. The potential to integrate new technologies into real life applications and the opportunity to develop practical skills in this sphere is

Technology today has changed tremendously over the years. From small devices to big devices to large factories that make them. All over the world technology is increasing. It has become so important the human race can’t live without it.
Today, the world is dominated by the field of electronics. Innovative ideas are coming into existence in our day to day life. Electronics plays a key role in the organization of any system under consideration. This trait of electronics extends into a broader scope. Thus, pursuing a career in the electronics field is my goal. Thus, Masters in Electrical Engineering with Electronics as the major is an apt choice to reach my goal.
I take this opportunity to introduce myself as a final year undergraduate student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from SASTRA University, an elite university which is always among the top 50 engineering universities of India. As a child I enjoyed playing with hot wheels cars and grew up using remote controlled cars. I was always fascinated in understanding their mechanisms as I wanted them to go faster and faster. My interest for electronics had its first footing from these experiences. Electronics in particular interested me a lot with its presence in every aspect of our daily life. With interest in electronics, during high school years I constructed logic gates and started making small toys using batteries and motors. With such fascination for electronics I
“Electronics gadgets and communication systems of present age have tremendously improved the quality of life. With the tempo of events throughout the world, it has become essential to have more efficient communication network with the latest electronic devices and circuits.” The strikingly first sentence i read while going through a brochure after passing out from my secondary education and this curiosity pushed me to explore further with on the internet to obtain an information about the field.
My interest in electrical and electronics engineering was sparked at a very early age; I always wondered how TV shows picture on screen or electric current runs so many home appliances. In my summer holidays I went to my uncle’s house. Here most of the time I ask questions about electrical and electronics equipments to my uncle who was an electrical engineer. Everything about electrical and electronics fascinated me! I wanted to learn and understand how these machines around us worked. I had the urge to learn more and more and that eventually led to my decision to pursue a career in electrical engineering.
Currently, I am pursuing my Graduation in Malla Reddy Engineering College (affiliated to Jawarharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad) with Mechanical Engineering as my discipline. The curriculum includes major courses like Automobile Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Heat Transfer, Design of Machine Members, among the many core subjects. My aggregate up to 6th semester is 83%.
Since the age of technology, technology has had a variety of impacts on the human race. While some of these may be positive and some negative, it is undeniable to state that electronics have not kept us evolving as technology evolves itself. It has become a vital contribution to most Americans’ everyday lives as well as various occupations. Without technology, we would not be where we are in current day society.
Technology - application of practical science, driven by need. When people want to change, they usually turn first to the strategy of innovation. But what separates engineers from mere innovators is the ability to discriminate the importance of sustainable technological solutions for the future. My ability to be proactive in this matter makes me stand apart. In addition to finding out how a machine operates, I’ve always been interested in design aspects and monitoring the incipient faults occurring within machines. This urge has strengthened my ability to recognize the scope for improvement and also motivated me to look beyond the conventional functionalities of any machine.
There are countless reasons why technology is a key aspect of learning in the schools. Whether we like it or not, technology is everywhere and in order for us to survive in post-secondary education and the business world, we must know technology which drives me to understand the complexity hidden behind it and learn more and more which takes me a step closer to the audacity drawn on the verge of innovation.
In 1965, Gordon Moore, the co-founder of Intel, predicted that the number of transistors on an integrated circuit will double every two years. Today the electronics industry is at a critical junction where Moore’s law may be slowing down due to scaling limitations. Engineering innovation is required to fuel the next generation of computing from smart watches to virtual reality headsets. It is this engineering challenge that compels me to apply for University of Michigan’s Master’s program in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change
Thesis: Technology is changing exponentially as we speak. Each day, engineers and scientists are developing new technologies to make life more efficient, safe, and connected so that isolation will be nearly impossible in a connected world.
It is universally agreeable that with the advent of Computer technology, every ambitious and enthusiastic individual is really obsessed with the idea of doing computer science at graduate level because it seems to have created a zeal and enthusiasm in the hearts of youth, particularly those who aspire to be marked as high achievers. I, for one, seem to have been enchanted by these computer applications as they have made the world smaller, speaking in terms of globalization. I have no hesitation to add that core computerization alone is the suitable answer to all the areas unexploited and to the areas waiting for development. It has always been a fascination for me about how computers work, how these applications are designed and what can be the newer ways to explore the world of computers to make our world better. This interest became a passion for me when I was exposed to computer science basics, during my middle school. Pursuing computer science engineering at undergraduate level, further propelled my passion for computer science along with providing me a deeper insight and in-depth understanding of the subject. After completing my under graduation in Computer Science, I am willing to expedite my research interest and a masters degree seemed the most appropriate choice for realizing my aspirations.
The potential to create exceptional, innovative products through the use of electrical engineering and embedded systems have always fascinated me. From the miniaturized circuit boards in smartphones and tablet PCs to the large-scale embedded electronics used in aerospace systems (Bozzano, Cimatti, Katoen, et. al., 2011) electrical engineering has long fascinated me. One of the most significant factors that led to my passion for this subject is the revolution that is occurring in the areas of mobile processors, avionics and aerospace systems, where embedded systems are critical to the navigational integrity of the vehicle. This revolution in embedded systems is also leading to an entirely new era of performance in avionics and deep space exploration, which promises to deliver insights never learned before from previous technologies (Kadayif, Kandemir, 2005). Due to all of these factors I am extremely interested in electrical engineering and pursing it a graduate degree in this academic discipline .
