Health science happens to be on of the few occupations that someone can go into and get a good job with only two years or college. I would also be eligible to go to a Technical school. There are several requirements that are needed to get the job though. If I were to choose to be an ambulance driver or attendant I would need a high school diploma or certification to get into a college. There are also community college opportunities that are in Tennessee. One of those colleges would be Southwest Tennessee Community College. Southwest Tennessee college has programs of study including Emergency Medical Technician- basic and Emergency Medical Technician- advanced and paramedic. Four year colleges in Tennessee would include Austin Peay State University and Tennessee University. There are also similar jobs that I would be eligible for as well. First I could be a firefighter. Firefighters coltro and put out fires, they also respond to emergency situations

The next step is to determine the nature of the emergency, then stabilized the patient's condition, and then administer the right procedures, while en route to the hospital. Treatment for the patients depends on what level of training and certification the EMT has gone through. First responders are only certified to care for a sick or injured person. A basic EMT can give CPR, control any bleeding, treat shock victims, apply bandages, splint fractures, and administer an automatic defibrillation. EMTs are also trained to handle emotionally unstable patients and heart attack, poisoning, and burn patients. EMT-Intermediate are trained to start an IV, or use a manual defibrillator for patients that are going into cardiac arrest. EMT-Paramedic are certified to be able to perform more intensive treatments, while working in close radio contact with the doctor. (Careers In Focus: Medical Technicians 76) EMT-Paramedics are qualified to give intravenous drugs, use EKGs, put in breathing tubes, and use any modern medical technology. Paramedic is the highest level and requires 1,300 hours of training plus an additional 500 hours of field training. Training usually takes place at a community college and takes approximately two years to complete. Paramedics perform all the functions that the EMT-Basic and Intermediate perform but they are certified in advanced lifesaving procedures such as tracheal intubation and I.V. support. They are also trained how to read EKG’s and in the use of a cardiac defibrillator. The paramedic also performs clearing a patient’s airway and performing an emergency tracheotomy. When it comes to job prospects, Athletic Trainers can have a fairly easy time finding a job if they look in the right areas. Missouri is the easier place to find a job if a person wanted to be an Athletic Trainer because there are more job opportunities. If a person wants to work as an Athletic Trainer it will be easiest to live in a city or town that has colleges, universities, or gyms (“Employment and Outlook” 1). Once I get the right education, I feel confident that I will find a job as an Athletic Trainer. I am glad that I would not have to leave Missouri since there are typically job openings here. I would rather not move out of Missouri, but I would not mind moving if it meant that I got to pursue the career of my choice.
To become an EMT you'll need a high school diploma or GED and formal emergency training. There are three levels of EMT training . Emergency Medical
When I took the quiz, I was given realistic and investigative. After considering the fields that were best suited I saw Emergency Medical Technician or EMT. I choose this field because my father is a paramedic so I have grown up in the medical field. The pros of the job are helping save someone’s life, giving medication to someone in need, and simply being there when they need a hand. Countless times my dad would go on calls where the person would just want someone to listen and talk too. The cons about the job are that not every life in your hand you will save, and some of the people only are out to get the drugs in your ambulance. So, you must figure out which ones are really in need.
As depicted on my resume, you will note that I have both executive level education and experience.
Gary Williams and Diane Powell told us about EMS and EMT. Mr. Williams said that basic EMT is a lot of driving. There are 120 hours of training in classroom time and clinical time all together. Mr. Gary took his test at Lamar University, and Paramedics is 480 hours. There is 3 levels to EMT and there is 2 different routes. They only travel in the county, if the hospital can’t help the person in need, they travel farther like Galveston and Houston. You have to have labs on and in ambulance, and the Paramedics get course completion. You can advance to mid-level addition, and 180 hours you can do more advanced treatments. Paramedics work 448 hours to be able to read EKG/ ECG, and that takes pictures of what the heart is doing. At some hospitals,
