At different times throughout my life I have envisioned myself as a cardiologist, a surgeon, or one of many other specialized physicians. However, these specializations all lacked the flexibility I sought to address the myriad of health care concerns. By becoming a physician assistant, I will use hands-on experience, practical medical education, and teamwork to diagnose and treat a variety of health concerns that the nation faces.
Throughout my physician assistant education, I will gain many hands-on experiences that other medical students do not encounter until later in their educational careers. Additionally, I will continue to gain hands-on experience throughout my career. Having this experience will allow me to more readily diagnose
I want to be a part of Keiser University's Physician Assistant Program because it is one of the best in South Florida. I agree with its mission statements and goals. This 24-month curriculum will allow me to reach my goal of pursuing my career as a Physician Assistant, sooner than most programs. It is centrally located so that most students have a minimum commute of 15-20 minutes. I am impressed by Keiser's excellent reputation of job placement among graduating PA students. According to present students, this school has a low professor to student ratio. I am eager to participate in this type of learning environment. Also, I am happy to see that the PANCE rate has been improving as the program strives to prepare students for the national certification
It took three seconds for the physician assistant to ask me a question that I had heard hundreds of times throughout my life. Unlike numerous people who had asked me before, the physician assistant had the knowledge and the ability to bring me relief from the redness that had plagued me for most of my life. I hope to become a physician assistant because I want to positively impact people’s lives – whether that be by giving them relief from an insecurity they have had for
I have had the opportunity to work with many health professionals, but my experience with PAs has solidified my path to becoming a PA. Devoting over 200 hours to shadow PAs of various specialties had allowed me to learn about pulmonary diseases and read CT scans in pulmonary, watch in awe at an ingrown toenail removal in urgent care, and observe patience and individual care in pediatrics. Although I was at the clinics for observation, I eagerly wanted to assist the PAs and care for the patients. I was fully immersed in the topics that were taught to me and found myself lusting for the knowledge and skills to become a PA.

I have grown a passion for the medical field and one day, I will become a physician assistant. As a physician assistant, I will embrace my intelligence and passion in this health profession to allow me to help others. By already taking health classes it has helped me learn more about the direction I want to continue in this field. As I begin to advance my education into post-secondary school, I will be preparing myself to become the most driven and intelligent health professional by maintaining a high GPA and excellent study skills. My main goal during my education is to obtain as much experience and knowledge as a Patient Care Technician. This will allow me to increase my confidence in the medical field by interacting with doctors, nurses
It is the indescribable bond between patients and their health care providers that drives me to pursue a career as primary care physician assistant. While all health care providers should strive to connect with and relate to their patients, it is the privilege of primary care providers to form close bonds with their patients that they may treat for the rest of their lives.
Before I enrolled in the medical assisting program at Milan Institute, I was working as a medication technician. I decided to go back to school to provide a better future for myself and family. While in the program, there were many times when I wanted to quit but, my support team is very strong and wouldn’t let me.

The medical assisting field is growing in a fast rate; in average it is said to grow 31% between 2010 and 2020 (Adams, 2014). The reason for this growth is the continuous change within the medical field. This growth will result in an increase in the number of group practices, clinics, and other facilities that need a high number of support personnel like medical assistants who can perform both administrative and clinical tasks. Administrative tasks may include greeting patients, obtaining basic registration information, office bookkeeping, filing procedures, or billing and coding. As for clinical tasks, that may include preparing patients and the equipment needed before examinations, assisting the physician during visits, phlebotomy, or collecting
I have been a back office medical assistant (MA) in a pediatric and internal medicine clinic for the past four and a half years. I assist a pediatrician and an internist in providing direct patient care by assisting in examinations and procedures, taking medical histories, charting vitals, and explaining treatment plans. My role as an MA includes (but is not limited to) obtaining patients’ temperature, weight, and height, and calculating patients’ BMI. I collect blood specimens and perform all routine labs, such as visual and auditory tests and urinalysis. I am familiar with normal laboratory readings and can alert physicians to abnormal results and to other problems. I administer medications and prepare vaccines as directed by the supervising
As a graduate of Heald college in Concord California, I have excelled through the academic curriculum for the two years that I have spent my commitment and dedication to earn the title as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. The phrase, “why are you going to be a really good medical assistant?” Well, I don’t see myself as a really good medical assistant. I see myself as an individual who is devoted into the medical field which is a passion that I see fit in my line of duty. I feel that being a really good medical assistant does not define who they really are as a person in the medical work force. The phrase really good as I see it is a person who knows how the do the job but does not give any aspect of the passion or the need to learn more.
