I, Troy Weber, want to join National Honor Society to benefit my community and myself. This experience will help me with completing difficult tasks, handling a situation or just finding a way to talk to another person. I want to help my community because there is so much work that can be done. People need help everyday and I want to give up my time to lend them a hand or two. National Honor Society describes the person I aspire to be. A person with character, leadership skills, and an honest person. I would love to be a part of a club that brings out the best within me. I do believe I have some of the qualities that are appropriate and needed to be in this club. I've always tried to help the people in my community and also around me whenever help is needed. I think that I would be able to help out others, just like the people who are in National Honor Society. Being chosen to join the National Honor Society has made me realize that people notice what I do. It makes me want to put myself out there in a positive way, and lead in a way others will follow. I have trouble using my voice to lead instead, I shy down. I think National Honor Society will help me use my voice to become the leader I strive to be.

As a member of four national honor societies, I believe my presence in those organizations has made me a good candidate for the College Scholars program. I was invited to the National English Honor Society, Rho Kappa (Social Studies National Honor Society), National French Honor Society, and National Honor Society. All four have enhanced my academics, social skills, and intuition. In the National English Honor society, we are challenged to utilize our writing skills for the betterment of our community. Our main project this year was creating little messages that promoted suicide prevention. We would then attach the message to a knitted heart and hang them all around our school. The reason that I am interested in becoming a member of the National Honor Society is because the National Honor Society represents all of the values that I find most important in my education and life. National Honor Society requires academic excellence throughout high school. At the beginning of my Freshman year, I set a goal to graduate with a 4.0 GPA. I have worked diligently to achieve and maintain this grade point average while taking several advanced classes. So far, I have taken three classes for college credit and plan to take multiple more during my senior year. Through the course of my high school education, I have realized how important it is for an individual to develop and maintain these studious habits. National Honor Society truly is a honor to be accepted into. National Honor Society represents scholarship, leadership, service, and character. I believe since I was young I have shown compassion and leadership needed in our society. That is why this is the right society for me.
Acceptance into the National Honor Society of Petrides would be a great honor for me. The National Honor Society in Petrides will allow me to connect with likeminded people in the school who have portrayed similar scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship as I have. I have shown my leadership qualities through school events and volunteer work. Service to the school is one of biggest focus of the National Honor Society which I have always been content to participate in. The three amazing years at Petrides, I have served the school by aiding and tutoring students that have needed help academically; while participating in school events and teams showing school pride.
As a freshman at the University of Maryland, I am pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Cyber Security. I formerly attended the Academy of Health Sciences at Prince George’s Community College, a dual enrollment program in which I graduated with my High school diploma and an Associates of Arts degree in General Studies. Having a unique experience by attending these different school has allowed me to become familiar with technical communication in a multitude of ways, whether it is in the work place or school related. Being vice president of the national honor society, being a barista at Peet’s coffee shop, and with being fluent in multiple languages I have used technical communication to encourage people to “take action” in a multitude of ways. Whether it was influencing people to join the national honors society or trying to get customers to buy a new coffee drink, I have consistently been able to encourage others to “take action” with whatever it may be. Over time I have learned the do’s and don’ts of being a technical communicator, and I now understand what must be done to accomplish a task through technical communication.
I deserve to be a member of the National Honor Society because I feel like I’ve earned it. Over my high school career, I have been through many challenges, but I learned to face them head on with a positive attitude knowing how good the outcome can be. I fit the qualifications to be a member and if I do not fulfill them to a certain level, I will work on how to reach them. Throughout my school education, I’ve always tried my best, even more so in high school. I hold myself up to a very high expectation, I know I can always do better than before. As for volunteering, I am always involved in my community as much as I can. As a child, I was involved in many programs and I continue to do service work with more benefits to my future and character
I would like to become an active member of Carrboro High School National Honor Society, because I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve and improve the community with other like-minded students. I believe it is important to balance academics, athletics, and community service. For example, this year I am taking 5 AP classes, running cross-country and track, and have spent almost 150 hours volunteering in the community. The first time I volunteered was when I raised a diabetic alert dog with my family. Even though I was sad to see the dog I had raised go, it was a rewarding experience because I knew that the dog would help someone have a better life. Anytime I can find an opportunity to both improve myself and the community, I won’t hesitate to seize it. I found the opportunity to do just that at both Shodor and CHCCS Project Graduation.

With the support of my family and a personal goal for relentless advancement since a young age I have shown maturity by participating and discovering ways to improve my impact on the community and the people around me. With modesty I exhibit the required qualities that Dr. Edward Rynearson necessitated for a member of the National Honor Society, possessing definite attributes for leadership, service, character and scholarship. Foremost my hard work and determination have granted me scholastic achievements that evidently meet the prerequisites for National Honor Society.
it recognizes that students excel academically, have strong leadership, and have done service to the community. By joining NJHS my leadership skills will improve. Also joining National Junior Honor Society gives me different opportunities. I want to have more leadership experience, continue to grow academically, improve my character skills, and benefit others. I have many goals for the future and I feel that joining National Junior Honor Society will help me meet them.
I would like to be a member of the National Honor Society because I feel like I could help the school and the community. I have demonstrated with my academic achievements and my GPA that I am determined to work hard and do whatever it takes in order to get a job done. I have had principal’s honor roll almost all my life. I have gotten many awards from my teachers over the years and I will be getting many more over the last three years of high school.
I have heard about National Junior Honor Society way before Middle School. Students who are members always are exemplary students and are of good characters, well enough to be my role models. Ever since my elementary years, I have maintained all “A”s grade, I always have interest in leadership and service, and I always thirst for a challenges and accomplishments.., things that I know will make a good fit to be a member of this prestigious organization.
