While encountering hardship, I tell myself “Make it happen,” simply because giving up isn’t an option. I believe that if I work hard enough, I can create miracles. I believe in the American Dream and that success will reward effort, yet, in reality, not everyone in this world has access to opportunities that lead to the type of success he or she deserves. Through networking, I’ve gained insight into the realities of living in disadvantaged communities, sympathy towards those from less fortunate backgrounds, and more importantly, a strong desire to make things happen in those communities. My mission is to provide career training opportunities to those who lack resources, enabling them to compete and thrive in various fields.
I want to pursue international business and have sought experiences to build on my existing skills and innate entrepreneurial spirit. While it is important to be equipped with knowledge and experience, my most valuable asset towards success is my strong determination to turn ideas into innovations and use business to help people realize their true potentials. I am drawn to business because it is what brings the right people together, making their mutual visions reality and benefiting society. Through my experiences in FBLA, I’ve gained the skills and strategies I’ll apply in business, as well as the confidence in my ability to initiate change.
In order to improve people’s quality of life, I need to first understand the challenges and strengths of

As I’ve said earlier, my most prolific dream has always been to one day work in the professional field of animation. To create living, breathing worlds with the tip of a pencil and the solid white plane of your average piece of printer paper. For years I’ve been practicing and honing my skills to reach this goal, but I knew that I would first need the proper connections, education, and mentorship of renown industry professionals to help me reach the bountiful zenith of my highest aspirations. And because of my employment, education, and extracurricular experiences, I believe that I’m adequately-equipped to see these dreams of mine become a reality. For instance, my work at the Madison Mallards baseball park during the summer of ‘17 has not only prepared me for the typical aspects of the workforce, but it has also helped me better interact with other people and build lasting connections. Almost everyday, I worked endlessly to garner profit for my employer and satisfy customers of all backgrounds. Almost everyday, I was tasked with working synergistically within a cast of colorful co-workers and managers. And finally, I was able to share with the management my unwavering sense of dedication to company policy and the
There is no universally accepted definition for quality of life but it incorporates the individual’s subjective view of a broad range of clinical, functional, and personal aspects. Researchers have developed two types of quality of life assessments. The first is health related quality of life (HRQOL), which assesses the client’s perception of how their health status affects their physical, psychological, and social functioning, and well-being. The assessment is based on a series of questions the client is asked. The second type is the overall quality of life (OQOL), which focuses on the client’s satisfaction with life in general, not just in relation to the limitations of functioning that are related to disease. According to Laudet (2011), “One influential definition of OQOL drafted by the World Health Organization (WHO) is an individual’s perception of their position in life in the context of the culture and value systems in which they live and in relation to there goals, expectations, standards and concerns” (WHOQOL Group, 1995, para. 5). The standard for measuring OQOL is the WHO quality of life instrument, which assesses the client’s perception of how they are functioning objectively. The subjective views obtained by QOL measures are important because they offer a better perspective to the
Thomas Edison once said, “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” When it comes to success and achievements, people often believe that success is complicated and can not be reached easily. Many authors explain the reality on how we can accomplish our goals and become successful. We recently read several articles describing the keys that make us successful in our profession. The authors that discuss this journey toward achievement are Carol S. Dweck in her article “The Secret to Raising Smart Kids, ” Geoffrey Colvin in his piece “What It Takes to Be Great,” Malcolm Gladwell in his novel chapter “The 10,000-Hour Rule,” and Jonnelle Davis in “Liz Murray Shares
In public health, as in many fields there are a set of conundrums that practitioners, leaders and law makers have to address in order to provide the most appropriate service to their populations. One of these conundrums is the battle between what is good for the community vs. what is good for the individual. This topic will be broken up to the community vs. the individual, and discussed based on research done by Kass et al, and Oriola, and will be concluded by presenting possible solutions.
Which is cost difference determines the patterns of international trade. Absolute advantage is trade benefits when each country is at least cost producer of one of the goods being traded. In the 1800s, David Ricardo developed the theory of comparative advantage to measure gains from trades. This theory is based on comparative advantage and it states each nation should specialize in production of those goods for which its relatively more efficient with a lower opportunity cost.
