Elijah’s God was Elisha’s God! God utilized Elisha as His prophet for about fifty years.
Elisha died but his influence remained in a number of ways. God’s power was shown when a dead man’s body was tossed into the grave of Elisha and came in contact with Elisha’s bones. The dead man was revived and jumped to his feet. The miracle showed Israel once more that if they would have not rejected the words Elisha spoke on behalf of God, God would have been extremely gracious and merciful to His people.
Elijah was a very hated man in the Ahab family. He had great courage and boldness to always be willing to be the messenger of horrendous news to Ahab’s family. For many years, Ahab and Jezebel hunted for Elijah to destroy him. That hatred

Most of the encounters we read about Elisha dealt with needs people had. This showed God’s powerful caring nature to the people. People came in contact with the all-powerful God through the miracles performed and the person of Elisha.
Athaliah was Queen of Judah from 842-836 BC. She was the daughter of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel of the northern kingdom of Israel. She also was the wife of King Jehoram of Judah, and the mother of King Ahaziah.
Following Ahaziah's death at the hands of Jehu, Athaliah seized power and killed all members of the royal family who were possible rivals for the throne, except for Joash, the infant son of Ahaziah, who had been rescued by his Aunt Jehosheba.
When Joash was seven years old, Jehoiada the priest conspired to have the young boy crowned in the Temple as king. When Queen Athaliah heard the commotion, she rushed to the Temple to see what was going on, and found the new king surrounded by army officers and people from all over the land rejoicing and blowing trumpets.
Athaliah ripped her clothes in distress and yelled "Treason! Treason!" Jehoida the priest told the army officers to take her out of the Temple and to kill her. She was killed at the Palace stables. Then, Jehoiada and others destroyed a pagan temple of Baal and destroyed pagan
Another time Elie questions God and his faith is around Rosh Hashana, the new year. All the Jews gathered together to say prayers to God. He questions God for allowing all these terrible things to happen to them when they live their lives for Him.
Elie loses complete faith in god in many points where god let him down. He struggles physically and mentally for life and no longer believes there is a god. Elie worked hard to save himself and asks god many times to help him and take him out of the misery he was facing. "Why should I sanctify his name? The Almighty, the eternal, and terrible Master of the Universe, chose to be silent..."(page 33). Elie was confused, because he doesn’t know why the Germans would kill his race amongst many others, and he does not know why god could let such thing happen to innocent people. "I did not deny god's existence, but I doubted his absolute justice..."(page 42). These conditions gave him confidence, and a courage to
Eliezer's main conflict that governs the story would be sustaining his belief in God. This
God is there to remind people to care for others and to put yourself first but he must not have been there to remind Elie.
As for Elie’s relationship with God, some find it tempting to say that he became an atheist, but this is an oversimplification. Though Eliezer lost faith in God’s mercy, he still believes that there is a God. He still believes that god can still save him from the mess. He feels like god is real enough to help him through the holocaust. He stop relying too much on god, and start asking god questions. Elie sees god as a new path to freedom, and work to regain a new life.
No matter how hard life can be, we can overcome it with God’s help. He is the reason he survived. He is the reason we are here. Elie kept his faith through the whole experience. That is amazing for someone who faced that much persecution and kept on worshiping
People often begin to lose faith in God because of the results they faced from their life experiences. Some face things that seem cruel and unbearable while others are “confronted with the information presented from another viewpoint that rejects God” (Gospel Billboards). Elie was told by his father to never lose his faith in God, it would help him get through tough times and keep him strong. The faith is the only strong force that helped Elie Wiesel get through the Holocaust. Through experiences that involve cruel and unbearable moments, people start questioning whether God has the answers to life’s problems. This results in faith beginning to weaken, people stop communicating with God, which makes it easier for one’s faith to diminish. We encounter Elie questioning and refusing God, but also see his contradictory behavior he exhibits to praise. However, throughout the book, Eliezer witnesses and experiences things that leads him to lose his faith in his religion. The longer he stays in the concentration camps, the more he experiences and sees cruelty and suffering. Eliezer believes that people who pray to a God who allows their families to suffer and die are more stronger and forgiving to God. Elie was angry at God, he thought God didn’t deserve his praises or honors because he expected God to come save him but he never did. He observes people die and others around him slowly lose hope, starve, Elie ceases to believe that God could exist at all now. “Where He is? This
Elie was deeply devoted to his faith at the beginning but as the story progresses he loses that devotion and barely believes that there is a God that exists. The first signs of him losing his faith was when he arrived at the first camp and saw the horrible things people were doing to the Jews. Other people around him had already lost faith in God and Elie was beginning to doubt God due to Him allowing people to do this to others. “His
“Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams into ashes,”(34). It takes a lot of events to take your soul and dreams to be burnt into ashes. Eli was going through a really hard time and wanted answers that were not heard from God. Without the closure of the events going on he started to question if there was even a God at all.
Eliezer begins to lose his faith in God when he first arrives at the concentration camp in Auschwitz. After Eliezer arrives in Auschwitz he catches people praying to God: “ For the first time, I felt anger rising within me. Why should I sanctify His name? The Almighty, the eternal and terrible Master of the Universe, chose to be silent. What was there to to thank Him for” (33)? Elie and his father have just been separated from the rest of their family, and are quickly losing the little hope they have that they will be able to get out of there alive. EIie sees a truck full of babies being unloaded and thrown into a fire, and he wonders why God is doing absolutely nothing to stop it. Later in the book on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, “What are You, my God? I thought angrily… Why, but why would I bless him? Every fiber in me rebelled. Because he caused thousands of children to burn in his mass graves (66-67)? In this quote from the book, Eliezer is questioning God and asking him why he should praise him. Elie has lost his faith in the idea that God will save the Jews from their horrible imprisonment. Elie starts to believe that man is stronger and greater than God, and that he is alone in a world without God.
Elie Wiesel’s God is more than a substantial part of his life. When Elie first
When he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell backward off his chair by the side of the gate. His neck was broken and he died, for he was an old man, and he was heavy. He had led Israel forty years.
* She led Israel to victory against Sisera * Had Jael killed Sisera with a tent stake. * She defeated the Canaanites. *
King Solomon was the wisest, richest and was the most blessed by God than any man that ever lived. He was the second son of King David and Bathsheba, and his name means "friend of God" as the name was given by Prophet Nathan in 2 Samuel 12:24-25. He was also the third king of Israel. King Solomon was a faithful king, but some actions failed in the eyes of The Lord. King Solomon was mainly acknowledged by his wisdom which God gave him.
Through Elisha and Elijah, God did some powerful works. Both Elisha and Elijah had hearts that were totally focused on God. Elisha was not fearful of human power. A good example of this is in chapter six when Elisha was surrounded by thousands of Syrian chariots and soldiers because he told would warn the king of Israel of the dangers of the Syrians. He was not scared because He knew the Lord would deliver them. He was full of faith. Elisha’s servant was scared to death, but Elisha remained calm. This is one powerful example of how God is the only to be feared. He restored Elisha and his servant from the huge army of Syrians that were originally after him. The Lord gave so much power to Elisha because of his faith, and he did many great things.
