Conflict is when 2 parties start fighting, or arguing. I believe that conflict is inevitable. I feel that conflict is inevitable because of people not having the same thoughts and ideas, people not liking a certain person, or simply disagreeing. For example, when people don’t have the same ideas/thoughts, sometimes people tend to argue. One such example of people not sharing the same thoughts is in politics, some people believe we should have stricter gun control, and some believe we should not have stricter gun control. One case for the people that believe that we should have stricter gun control is the shooting in San Antonio at the church. Sometimes people fight if they don’t like a certain person. For example, some football fans despise
The right to bear arms dates back to the second amendment.Guns do not kill people-; it is the people who are behind the guns. Gun control laws infringe upon the right of self-defense and deny people their sense of safety. The police cannot protect everyone and they will not always be there when people need safety. Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice President of the NRA, stated, “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” With that being said, how will people help themselves in hefty situations? What will help the most with gun control laws?
People could get firearms through the legitimate channel by having a handgun safety certificate, background check, and carry license in the United States. The gun control theme has been discussed in the last few years. The hot topic discussing that should we banned the right to own a gun as functional protection. Few people who owns a gun have few committing of violent crimes which like school shooting, suicide, and homicide in America. As the number of the gun holder increasing, the number of death rate increasing every year. For this horrible issue, there are four main reasons to support banning gun which including gun violence, mental health, second amendment, and the negative of self-defense.
Gun control has been a highly controversial issue in the United States, especially in the wake of so many recent tragic mass shootings. For some people having a gun is a crime, and for others gun control is a right that belongs to us. But the question is, do we need stricter gun control laws? Would new laws help or prevent the gun crime rate in the United States? We believe that gun violence has gotten out of control with massive shootings, and we need to do everything to stop it. The country stands divided on the issue, both sides taking a firm attitude to what they believe should be done with guns.
In today’s society of political turmoil, violence, and economic tragedies, many gun control advocates are pushing for more gun regulations from the government. Guns have been a part of America’s way of life for centuries. However, it was not until the 20th century that the government enacted it’s first gun control act. The National Firearms Act was enacted in 1934, as stated in “Firearm Laws, Regulations, and Ordinances,” edited by Sandra Alters, in response to the increased criminal and gangster activity as a result of prohibition (19). This act aimed to make it more difficult to acquire specific firearms by establishing a $200 tax on firearms (Alters, ed. 19). In 1968, the Gun Control Act was passed and
“The world is full of violence. Because criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise, they will win and the decent people will lose.” - James Earl Jones. Gun laws are a controversial topic that spark a lot of debate with many recent mass shootings, such as the Stoneman Douglas shooting. Though the majority agrees with stricter gun laws, here are three reasons why you should disagree. The Second Amendment protects the right of individual gun ownership, and not allowing it would be illegal. Being armed helps prevent crime, and it won’t make a difference if stricter gun laws pass. Therefore, our safety is the priority, and making stricter gun laws would only lower it.
Should there be any type of gun control in the U.S.? Seeing what has been happening around the country with the school shootings, there should be some type of control over weapons. A control that has safety into it so people won't be harmed or feel unsafe. A lot of people may disagree with me but it would help a lot with the school shootings and any other harmful or life taking events.
More than a third of Americans say they or someone in their household owns a gun. Guns are used for a variety of purposes, such as hunting, self defense, target shooting, for historical purposes, and so on. Most of the time the owners of these guns are responsible law abiding citizens and only in a small minority has a gun been used as a weapon intended to invoke harm upon someone. Some law makers and citizens have suggested creating and enforcing more gun control policies. These policies would more than likely make little or no difference in the number of yearly casualties because criminals don't care about the laws and will obtain a gun illegally and these restrictions go against the 2nd amendment.
What is it about gun ownership that frightens the government? Would passing gun control REALLY result in fewer crimes? In my opinion taking the guns away from American citizens will not only take away their self-defense, but it will also allow the criminals to get away with more knowing that their target is no endangerment to them without any kind of firearm. United States citizens should have the right to gun ownership for self-defense and assured safety.
Although gun restrictions have made it harder for people to obtain guns, Gun Restrictions won't stop murder because Bumb Stocks are extremely pointless. The mass shooting that took place in Las Vegas was caused by a bump stock. The shooter had multiple guns with lots of ammo. True fact, Jarry Miculek is the world's fastest shooter. The fore bump stocks don't matter , Assualt Weapons do not exist. Assault weapon are not the leading cause to murder. The number one cause to murders is handguns and blunt objects. The government tries to make assault weapons look scary and they do a good job of that, but assault weapons are truly not scary and they are not more dangerous then shotguns and they have handguns stronger than AR-15's.,
Guns are mistaken as evil weapons where actually, they can save lives. Gun ownership should not be tightly controlled. Guns can hurt people, but it’s not really the gun, it’s whoever pulls the trigger. The weapons cannot be personified as evil because guns can’t fire themselves. They can actually save people and their families if used for a good purpose. Guns are really tools that just need to be used correctly and by the right person. The gun’s purpose is controlled by the user, not itself.
Gun control. Now that I have your attention, I can dive into this huge issue at hand. As with most issues that become political, neither side is completely correct. Gun control is necessary to control violence but it must be done in moderation.
The tradition of guns Goes way back before the United States was ever discovered. Historians believe firepower originated in about A.D. 300 in ancient China (Mackey 9). Chinese inventors wrote about the discovery of a powder that exploded when exposed to flame (9). Eventually others caught on to the new substance called “gun powder” and it was soon to be all over the world. Recipes for making the powder eventually migrated to Europe during trading expeditions (9). This led to new ideas and on how the substance could be used. In the mid – 1200’s Europeans experimented with new ways to use the explosive powder, and by the 1340’s the cannon had become a potent weapon (9). Cannons had become standard wartime weapons in the middle ages, but their size and weight limited their usefulness (10). There
Violence is a big problem around the world, and there are many issues related to this subject. A big debate that is happening at the United States of America nowadays, is about the rights of people to have guns. Many countries have several gun policies, and does not allow citizens to carrying fire guns, or even keep them into their houses. That is not the case at the U.S., the Second Amendment of their Constitution guarantees that right to American people, by saying: “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
If you search the word conflict in the dictionary, you are likely to find plenty of negative connotations. Many explain conflict as: coming to collision or a disagreement; clash; contention; controversy; fighting or quarreling, states Random House (1975). As these definitions are negative in nature, most people tend to withdraw when they enter an arena with conflict.
Conflict can be an issue but it can also help a group come to a decision. According to the
