Main Intro: It does not matter what your age is, where you come from, or where you are living right now. We all share something in common; the desire to be successful. The dictionary definition of success is “the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors; the accomplishment of one’s goals” (Dictionary.com). Some people define success as being happy, loving, faithful, wealthy, famous, and powerful. Even though success can be achieved by anyone, it does not always come easy. First, to become successful you have to be able to accept failure, and move on. Them you have put in the hard work to achieve greatness, not take the easy path. Finally having the courage to sacrifice things you love, will bring you one step closer to …show more content…
To succeed, you have to be able to endure and overcome the challenges life throws at you, because, in the end, all of that hard work and suffering will pay off.
Work 2: If individuals do not work hard to succeed, then success cannot be achieved. If we put hours or years into hard work, it will impress others, and show us that we can reach our goals. Michael Phelps, known as one of the greatest Olympic athletes of all time is the definition of hard work. He started swimming at the age of seven, and now every time he swims in a competitive race, he sets new world records that cannot be achieved by any old swimmer. Phelps trained almost every day of the year, and this did not only include swimming. Michael Phelps is a good representation of how hard work leads to success because he is now not only known as one of the greatest swimmers but the greatest Olympic athlete of all time.
Work 3: Academic success is what every student wants, but is something not all students are prepared to work for. Most students believe that the successful people do not put any work into their academics. They think that the successful students are only gifted, and everything comes easy for them. That ideology is false because the most successful students put the most work in. It does not matter how intelligent one is, it matters how much effort you put into achieving your academic goals. Intelligent people are not born with everything stored inside their head. They receive
Life is full of obstacles and everyone goes through different problems. There are two possible outcomes to every problem: one is success and the other is failure. Often times, people face failure and just give up on that challenge. Others use that failure and work hard to reach success. As for me, I did face failure but that did not stop me from climbing over obstacles and persevering in the face of challenge and adversity.
Most everyone has to overcome some type of adversity in their life. Some things are harder to overcome than others, but it’ll always be worth it in the end. These past few years I have been facing the challenge of a life time.
What is the source of your success? My own definition of success is about overcoming my obstacles and hardships. If I can’t overcome the obstacles and hardships along the way, then I will try again so that I am more prepared and have the right knowledge. I want to meet obstacles and hardships because I want to feel the pleasure of success when I overcome them. In order for me to overcome and embrace hardships, I need to find the missing link, have the right knowledge, and practice effective time management.
Has there ever been a point in your life that made you feel like a failure? If you have ever felt this way, you are not alone. Several well-known people, such as Wilbur Wright and Steve Jobs, have dealt with adversity. Wilbur Wright and his brother created the first successful airplane, and it definitely was not easy. Steve Jobs was the founder of Apple, and dealt with many difficult events along the way. We have all had moments in life that we found difficult to overcome. When these events occur, we must choose to be resilient. When times get tough, resilience is key to overcoming adversity and achieving success.
Many people try and many people have failed. Everyone hopes to succeed in something, whether it be anything from sports to seminary, school, or just life. Every day there are people who invent things, they try over and over again until it works out. There are many successful people in this world and they didn’t get there easily. Success is something earned not given, and comes with trial and error.
Quite often you hear that we do not grow without failure; that failure is what teaches us a new skill and how to then succeed. I was not familiar with the quote, “adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant,” by Horace, however I think this quote is true. To me, this means that when someone has some kind of disadvantage, that person can use the challenge to his advantage through self-reflection, determination, and hope. Every person faces an obstacle, usually many and of various degrees of challenge, and although you cannot control the situation, you can control your reaction. Those of us that learn from adversity take our time to figure out how to approach the problem in a new manner. We recognize that one barrier is not a reason to abandon our course. We think outside the box for how to overcome the challenge. We learn from the first failure and we regroup for the next approach. Failure teaches you how to define yourself rather than how others define you. All four of the
Success becomes in different forms, to be able to overcome obstacles that get in your way, just don’t give in, and stop, continue and ask question of what can I do to become the best that I want to be. It is a goal and also inspiration to say the word I have succeed. No one can conquer your dream but you and yourself.” The never ending words of Martin Luther King I have a dream”(Sehgal 2016) and this dream can come true for
The most overall successful people in the world didn’t simply follow a straight path to success. As human beings, there are more than enough mountains to climb and fears to overcome. I have found myself in some of the most difficult situations at times and I somehow made my way out of them with tougher skin to work with. Through these seemingly insurmountable challenges, I persevered and have found that there is hardly any such thing as luck. There is only hard work and laziness.
To enjoy academic success, you must consistently exhibit qualities such as perseverance, diligence, and tenacity; both in and outside of the classroom. When you are inside of a classroom, it is of utmost importance to grant your teacher your full attention. Even the most brilliant of minds find difficulty in achieving success if they do not adhere themselves to actively attempting to learn material that is covered in their classes. Contrary to popular belief, being a ‘genius’ is not required to have good grades. Anyone of average intelligence can achieve classroom success through perseverance and work ethic, although there is truth in the assumption that obtaining stellar grades may be more effortless for those with higher levels of intelligence.
The Right Way To Student Success An idea of student success for myself was that a student must work hard in order to become intelligent and successful. For a student to learn they must have put the work in and be dedicated to their school work, but that is not the case. Before doing the research my theory was that student success was truly based on only the students and the text they had in front of them. I believed that a student success was only what a student brought to the table not that it’s about much more like teachers motivating a student(s), parents being involved, or that there are many activities that can help such as dance, sports, band, and other activities.
“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.” We all have failed many times, but were able to get up. We learned that struggles are part of life and that struggling helps you get better on what you are trying to achieve. Conflicts will drag you down, but when you reach the top you while never give up.
Overcoming adversity takes a lot of skill and hard work. If you don’t try to finish, you can’t expect to win. Adversity is an obstacle in lots of lives, whether it’s at work or at school. Using determination, courage, patience, and attemptation helps you overcome adversity because adversity is just an obstacle, so it will die down, later on. Don’t give into adversity, for giving up means that there is no way to succeed and you will be stuck in a loop of adversity. Always be hopeful and strong, and adversity won’t be a problem to deal
Everybody has challenges in life. People that are able to conquer their obstacles are very amazing. Elizabeth Kübler-Ross once said '' The most beautiful people I've known are those who have known trials, have known struggles, have known loss, and have found their way out of the depths.'' This quote basically means the most outstanding people are the ones who are able to dominate the difficulties that come in their way.
To conclude, good ways people overcome adversity is by embracing differences, having a positive attitude, and persevering to get through the obstacles/problems. With the acceptance from Aimee Mullins, the optimism from Anne Sullivan, and the perseverance from William Kamkwamba, theses are three excellent ways to overcome adversity. What I believe we could have all experienced from these individuals is, nothing is impossible if you
I can’t help but think on the definition of success by Maya Angelou, for her “success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it”. I would like to encourage everyone here to continue to be trailblazers and overcomers in spite of the challenges that may come. You may encounter many defeats but you must not remain defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter those defeats so that you know who you are, how you can
