The drinking age is a very controversial issue that people tend to talk about a lot. The minimum legal drinking age should always stay at twenty one years of age. For the United States and should not be lowered to age eighteen. The maturity level has a lot to do when it comes to drinking. The way the brain functions can be damaged later in life without alcohol. If we leave the drinking age to twenty one years old we can prevent that at least for three years. It will not only cause the brain to dysfunction, but it will affect the structure as well, such as defects to the brain the neurological consequences.
