Interning for CBS Studios International Publicity
Ever wonder what it’s like to intern for a television studio? Well, how about interning for CBS in their international division while doing corporate communications on top of all that? Yeah, that’s what I did for two semesters.
I worked under the vice president of communications for CBS Studios International. In that that environment, you are working on deadline because you have to turn in your work so people in the other offices around the world can see the CBS TV show clips. Clips are a vital part of interning in public relations. When I was an intern, I was looking at several different entertainment media websites such as TBI Vision, C21Media, WorldScreen and other websites from different countries.
On top of pulling clips twice a day, you are exposed to several different

Unlike television networks in the United States, the television studios must sell their entire series to a possible broadcaster in order have that show broadcast in a region. That is why trade shows like MIPCOM matter so much. In the states, we have the UPFRONTS where it is a big press party to show possible advertisers how great their content is doing.
Another important thing about working international public relations is that you learn about demographics and how each country consumes media differently. You get to learn the way journalists and bloggers from all over the world review shows. You get a worldly perspective of how media is transformed in different areas.
Lastly, while I was an intern for CBS Studios International, I learned the ins and outs of the CBS brand and how they promote themselves globally. This internship was pivotal moment in my academic and professional development. If you ever get the chance to intern for international public relations, does not matter what the industry is, take it. The job will change your point of view.
If you like working in a fast paced environment, the news industry is the place to be. Walking into the news field I had a few ideas of what to expect, as in working holidays, finding unique stories to cover and being inside a noisy news room. During my internship at WBRC FOX6 News, I learned how to operate multiple cameras and other equipment in the studio for different news segments. I was able to work with a variety of reporters, learn about their experience from being on camera and going out in the field to cover different stories. The most interesting thing I learned was that if a reporter is not able to make it back to the station in time to get their package made, they can use their laptop to edit their footage and still send it in
Next, I began my internship for the Targeted Engagement team at Targeted Victory, as I learned about the technology, advertising and political frim aspect of politics. Here, I helped create a daily company newsletter through email software applications such as Silverpop. I
I would beg my parents to take me to tapings. When ever I would got to Warner Brother I would always say "I'll be a person getting into that building." I applied to many internship got rejected due to my address of Northern California. Until, I showed them that I want to be there. On December 18th, I was give the position of an interactive marketing
I will still be able to take classes that are necessary for me to graduate, while getting the real-world experience that I need in order to thrive professionally. Usually when people think of production it seems very glamorous, but through the little experiences I’ve had over the past year, I’ve learned that it can be the complete opposite. The production industry, whether television or film, can be very spontaneous, unpredictable and demanding, and I don’t believe I’ve even seen the real deal yet. This is why I need an internship that will make me a better producer and also educate me of how to be ready for any obstacle that comes my way. Living in Hollywood, “the place where dreams come true,” will open many more doors for me and give me a different perspective of production. This is exactly what I need in order to get to the next
In addition to studying general Business Marketing, I am specifically interested in the business of the entertainment industry, heavily focusing on the marketing and creative aspects of it. Ultimately, I am working towards a successful career in all areas of the entertainment industry and this internship can definitely sharpen my skills into becoming that well-versed and well-rounded player in the industry. In addition to being an A and B student, I also explore my craft and major concentration via extracurricular activities and beyond. Currently, I create and
I would love to be a High School Insider Summer Intern this year because I have a passion for writing. I am a storyteller that loves to write and speak about what I write about. Since I am one of the younger students in high school, I have a young and fresh perspective on different events, so I believe I can add my perception and my creativity skills to the intern team and the Times. I am responsible, reliable, honest, bold, optimistic, outgoing, and affable. I can definitely work well with different types of people and I am someone who likes to lead and I am someone who likes to follow and support others. I also want to grow as a reporter, storyteller, and writer. I want to be able to use this experience and expand onto it later in the future.
The opportunity to work as the radio sports intern provides me a unique opportunity to work behind the scenes while also gaining practical and invaluable experience and knowledge. My written communication is strong, and I have been able to show that with my work for Sconnie Sports Talk. I have written on a variety of sports and topics while covering players, teams, and leagues, and I have amassed thousands of readers on my articles. I am tasked week to week with coming up with a topic to write about, researching, writing and editing the article, and publishing it, all on a tight deadline. The research is especially important to me and will be something I can provide as a Radio Sports intern. All these skills help prepare me for a career in sports media.
An effective Knowledge of base: having an understanding of current issues, geography, and past history and being able to present it to the viewers. This would be my first hands on internship at broadcasting company however, I am a dedicated student is looking for the most out of an internship experience. I am ready to obtain as much knowledge as possible and use it to help provide as much information to my future audience. However, it will not be my first time working with others. In past jobs, I have shown that I am great at communicating with others and providing great experience towards other, by being presented employee of the month. I was also able to showcase my research abilities in a project by which I focused on women and their natural hair and self-esteem involving advertising,
I have seen dozens of shows, but NBC has made many of my favorites, the 2 hour block of The Office, 30 Rock, Community, and Parks and Rec was pure gold, not to even mention Superstore or any of the amazing dramas. NBC is my most watched network, so when I found your listing for NBC Entertainment - West Coast Spring 2018 Internship(Job# 36089BR), I realized my skills of casting, communication, and development would let me excel at this position and company.
Working as a general agency intern in the summer of 2013 at Zizzo provided my first glimpse into the real-time agency world. I learned how your departments collaborated and dipped my toes in a variety of them. Two years and a bachelor degree later, I’m ready to embark a more specialized journey with the empowering group I remember. Here’s what I’ll bring as your PR intern:
This fall semester I interned at Slate PR, a firm that primarily represents actors, producers, and the overall realm of the entertainment industry. It is located fairly close to Penn Station, between the streets of 27th and 28th. Specifically, on 307 7th Avenue, Suite 2401. The internship took place on Monday and Wednesday’s from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. Many tasks varied throughout the internship experience. There are daily tasks and specific tasks for the events team. Daily tasks include handling RSVP lists, pitching, organizing clips, sending packages, running errands on behalf of clients, researching, and finding and compiling contact information. Events responsibilities include handling guest check-in, handling media check-in, escorting talent down the red carpet, and setting up. Daily attire is business casual and events attire is to wear all black with sneakers.
However, this internship made me realized that although I still love the field of marketing, I would not work in the telecommunication industry. Despite that this industry continuously
During my senior year of high school I got my first internship working for Visual String Marketing. It was a backwater office that you would have to truly go out of your way to find, but it was good work (if not freezing all the time). That lasted for a couple of months until I found a better (and paying) job working for Social Eyes Marketing.
My published work on “The Hub” and my knowledge of social media helped determine what activities I would be doing. I would tell students who are getting ready to do an internship to offer to help with anything they can. It shows drive and initiative, and the staff will appreciate it. I feel like the courses that best helped me prepare for this were online journalism production, reporting, and news presentation 1. I did a lot of video work and writing in these classes, and that is what my internship focused on. My best experiences were when I got to help with working with the reporters. Seeing how each reporter does his or her job showed me what works best while reporting on a
On March 31, a variety of speakers from various media industries came to TCU to enlighten students on career possibilities after graduation. I listened to the keynote speaker in addition to the industry panel, where the panelists discussed their journeys within the media industry. As a result of this event, I feel that I have a much greater understanding of what it is like to work in the media, and I have heard crucial advice on how to be successful. While each speaker offered a diverse and unique approach to entering their current jobs, there is a common theme of diligence and dedication that must be adopted to succeed in the media industry. Nathan Brown, the keynote, offered stories of his time on the business side of media, while other
